Background and Origin

Charlie Clint

Charles "Charlie" Clint was born to a Filipina nurse and American mechanic in San Francisco, CA. Charlie's mother died during labor, and he was raised by his father Harry. He spent most of his youth hanging out and helping at his father's motorcycle shop. In his formative years, his classmates nicknamed him "Chicken Charlie" because he would never stand up to the bullies that tormented him. He moved to Millennium City to attend Ravenswood, but dropped out after 3 months to avoid being bullied at the university. He began work at Westside Cycle Repair instead, and has been fixing motorcycles ever since.

Death of Evette

Evette Moore was a receptionist at Westside Cycle Repair that Charlie had a crush on. Frustrated with his cowardice, Evette eventually dragged him out on a date to tour the sites of Millennium City. The night took a grim turn when Charlie and Evette were held up at gunpoint at a dark alley. Overstruck with fear, Charlie froze as he watched Evette struggle to keep her purse. Evette was shot during the scuffle, and the robber escaped. With Evette dying in his arms, it was her last words, "Why didn't you help me, Charlie?", that would repeat in his mind to this day...

Birth of Rooster-Man

Crippled by guilt and constant reminders of Evette's death, Charlie quit Westside Cycle Repair. He decided to spend a few months in the Philippines to clear his mind, where his now retired father runs a chicken farm. One morning, he encountered a snake slithering around the chicken coup. His father grabbed one of his fighting roosters, and pitted it against the snake, killing it. Impressed with the rooster's quick reactions and counter-attacks, Charlie said to his father, "I didn't know they could fight like that. I thought chickens were scared."
"It takes years to build a reputation," his father said. "But only a few minutes to change it."
These words of wisdom made Charlie realize all he had lost by giving in to fear, and bravery is the only path to the redemption he longs for. Reaching this epiphany, Charlie set up a makeshift dojo on the farm, and started a regimen of combat training that mimicked his father's gamefowl. He trained so intensely that after a year he was almost unrecognizable. His body was extremely lean and muscular, and he became so quick and fearless that he was handling the snakes that infested his father's farm bare-handed. Reinvigorated with confidence, Charlie moved back to Millennium City and returned to his old job at Westside Cycle Repair. He started crimefighting on his days off as an unknown vigalante, but realized that the youth needed a persona they could rally behind. Modifying a costume he bought at the Halloween store, Charlie Clint now patrols the streets of Millennium City as The Plucky Daredevil known as Rooster-Man.

Powers, Skills, and Attributes

Powers

"Pun-ishing" Banter - Put info on your power here. Be as lengthy as you like.

"Rooster-Sense" Reflexes - Not every hero HAS powers, of course, in which case the powers section can be deleted.

"Chi-Ken-Do" Martial Arts - Just take everything from the HR tag above the Skills section, up to the "Powers" sub-header, and delete it. You can also edit the Main Header to take the word 'Powers' out of it as well.

Skills

Tinkerer - Skills are the things your character has learned to do, or has an innate talent at doing.

Breakdancer - These skills can be as mundane as painting, to more fantastical things such as enchanting items.

Motorcycle Racer - If your character has no particular skills worth noting, feel free to follow the same directions as shown for the 'Powers' sub-header on how to remove this section.

Attributes

Attribute 1 - Attributes are physical or mental traits, separate from powers in most cases, though possibly enhanced by them.

Attribute 2 - Attributes can be things such as flexibility, or being naturally acrobatic, or good eye-hand coordination perhaps.

Attribute 3 - Again, like the last two, if you have no use for it, delete this section. You can also ALTER the section if there is something missing that you would find more fitting.

Gear and Equipment

Gear

Weapon - Gear and equipment are the things your character carries around and uses. These can be things like weapons and armor.

Armor - Feel free to use this section to name and describe the gear that your character uses, if any. Be, again, as lengthy as you like.

Gadget - If this section does not apply to your character, feel free to delete it. Also feel free to add more sub-headers as they apply, such as for a vehicle, perhaps, and that vehicle's statistics.

Relationships

Lover

This section is specifically for a spouse, lover, or some other form of paramour. Feel free to use any of the formatting from 'Friends/Allies' below.

Friends/Allies

Put any friends or allies your character may have in here. You may give them descriptions or simply list them. To make a numbered list, simply place a # at the beginning of each new line:

  1. This guy
  2. That guy
  3. Some chick

For a non-numbered list, put an asterisk instead (the lines are optional. Simply remove the HR tags if you wish to remove them):

  • This guy

  • That guy

  • Some chick

Or, you could even use a smaller sub-header for each person, effectively creating a small section on them, like this:

That Guy I Know

Put info on the friend here.

That Chick I Met

And here.

Some Dude at the Bar

Don't forget this one.

Enemies

Put any rivals or enemies here. You can give descriptions, or simply list them. Same idea as the Allies and Friends.

General Perception

Put here the way your character would be perceived by the general public. This means, the things that the general public would know, how the media would portray them, things people might know without ever having met the character.
