The Cabala Lupa is a secret organization of mages and nature shamans, originating in England in the late 1800s, and originally known as the Cabal of Mistresses. Over the years, families from all over Britain swore themselves to the cabal, where they learned to read the future by examining animal bones and constellations. The more nature magic the mistresses of the cabal uncovered, the more powerful they became, until they could conjure raw primal energy in the form of lightning, windstorms, and animal mastery.

Due to the tight-knit familial nature of the cabal, wolves became their symbol. As more men began to learn the craft of magic as well, they changed the name to the Cabala Lupa.

When World War I started in the early 1900s, the cabal relocated to the United States, and lost the loyalty of several of their members. Their numbers remained about the same until World War 2, when it relocated again, this time to Mexico. Over the decades, their members scattered, most returning to the United States. Their current leader resides in Dovetail, New Mexico.
