A gladiator marine from the planet Aegle, Captain Azuro Dohar was on a scouting mission to Earth when Qularr shot his unit's ship down. Azuro and the unit rookie, Rayan, eventually allied with the local superheroes, taking on the names Birdman and Sparrow.

Saurica have superstrength compared to the average human, due to their mastery of flight on Aegle, a planet with stronger gravity than Earth. Azuro's strength abilities are further enhanced by his martial arts training.

Raised on the alien planet Aegle, Azuro's life in the intergalactic military has been full of ups and downs.

Early Life

Before joining the military, Azuro was a laid-back, shallow man without a clear direction in life. However, after a chance meeting with Mahon Da, a gladiator marine, Azuro was smitten.

He joined the military so he could spend more time with Mahon, and the two grew close and eventually married. Azuro's charisma won him over with all his fellow troops, and he rose quickly through the ranks. He and Mahon were both promoted to squad leaders on the same day, and though it was a happy occasion, the two would now be assigned to different locations in the galaxy.

After a heartfelt goodbye, Mahon went to Krelligon-5 with his squad, while Azuro captained a scout starship which he named Distance.

Krelligon-5 Tragedy

Less than a week after Mahon left, and before Azuro ever took his squad on a scouting mission, Krelligon-5 was attacked by Ganthorian glorgs and Mahon Da's entire squad killed.

Azuro was offered leave to mourn, but he decided to throw himself into his work instead.

Earth Scouting Mission

Azuro took a mission to scout the planet Earth, a faraway planet which sauricas had very little history with. But when they arrived near the planet, they encountered a Qularr attack ship hovering over North America. The Qularr shot Distance down without warning, and she fell apart in the atmosphere, scattering Azuro's squad all over the planet's surface.

Azuro and the unit rookie Rayan landed together in Millennium City, and the two fought off Qularr invasion forces, working alongside the Champions. They stayed to help rebuild after the attack, and were esteemed as superheroes by the Earthlings.
