The Absurd Hero.
Who is she?
Even in a world of superheroes and the supernatural, Penny is something of an anomaly.
She's just one of those mysteries that refuses to make any sense.
Her Origin
EVERY superhero has an origin story, right? Some kind of tragic backstory of how they got their powers and embraced their destiny to become a hero?
Well not Penny. She just kind of showed up out of nowhere one day. No, really!
There are no records of her prior to her appearance in 2018. She's claimed that her earliest memory was waking up after having fallen out of a tree. In one rare occurrence that Penny decided to cooperate with a police interrogation, a psionic hero was brought in to perform a mind reading. After being rickrolled by Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", they were able to verify that she wasn't suffering from amnesia, she simply didn't have any memories before 2018.
Given her chaotic nature, getting her to cooperate for any further tests has been a challenge. She ages normally, estimated to be a 15 year old teenager when she first appeared, now a 19 year old young adult. A DNA test collected from a spitball she fired once was able to confirm that she is indeed just a regular caucasian human girl with no active or latent mutant genes and no known relatives.
What can she do?
Penny's superpowers truly defy explanation.
That is, because no one can identify how they work or why she even has them in the first place. Penny's superpowers could perhaps best be described as a limited form of reality warping, although what exactly those limits are no one can say.
