The children were given pets to raise for several months, only to be forced to kill the pets to learn to become emotionally detached. Rebellious actions resulted in swift, brutal punishment. Many of the children did not reach adulthood.

He installed burglar alarms, worked as a network administrator, even spent some time as a bounty hunter's assistant. The job he enjoyed the most was working for a special effects company, where he learned mask making, life casting and animatronics.
