Brief Background
Born as Travis Victory, Bloodmoon has always possessed remarkable hand-eye coordination. He would dominate at sports during his school years, but when he decided to practice the art of sword fighting after purchasing an authentic katana, he had found his calling.
Donning a jet black outfit, Travis set out to clean up the streets of Westside, albeit in a fairly grisly manner. He was not very appreciated by the general public due to his violent nature of dealing with criminals, often being shunned by anyone when wearing his black costume.
It wasn't until a bloodmoon when Travis tore through wave upon wave of zombies and saving several panicked families that he began to earn some respect. Lacking a name for his costumed self, the people of Westside merely called him "that sword guy from the bloodmoon." Travis decided that this would work and took on the name Bloodmoon to burn into the minds of everyone what he had done. To complete the new identity, he added red paint to his outfit and then stepped out his front door in search of a new life.
Lifestyle & Work
Bloodmoon is a mercenary by nature and will take on just about any job that will pay. The only jobs he will refuse are ones that are blatantly evil. Bloodmoon prefers to think of himself as a bounty hunter for hire who will do the work of the heroes when none of them seem to be available.
Though he is opposed to evil, he isn't a shining beacon of light himself. His methods of finishing the work he is hired to do can be summed up with one word. Barbaric. While Bloodmoon does indeed do work that benefits the law-abiding world, he'll often spill unsettling amounts of blood and internal organs in the process. Because of his violent work ethics, his clients are usually battle-hardened men who have seen war, and at times heroes who have looser sets of morals. Anyone who has adopted "do not kill" philosophies when dealing with criminals and villains are unlikely to want to associate with Bloodmoon, let alone do business with him.
Despite his grisly methods, Bloodmoon never fails to complete his contracts. Because of this, he has attracted attention from across the globe as a reliable mercenary who always gets the job done.
Powers
Bloodmoon possesses three prominent powers.
1. Heightened Senses: Bloodmoon's senses exceed the normal human level by far. His sense of hearing rivals, and in some cases exceeds, that of most wild animals. His sense of smell is also extraordinary and is approximately ten times that of a normal human being which puts him on par with domestic house cats. Additionally, Bloodmoon is able to detect shifts in temperature long before a normal person would.
2. Increased Hand-Eye Coordination: Since he was a young boy, Bloodmoon's coordination skills have been unmatched by his peers. He attended three different schools throughout his early life and became each school's MVP in several sports. He was frequently approached by talent scouts, but he turned them all away as he wasn't interested in sports as a career. After attaining a katana and picking up on how to use it faster than his teacher expected, Bloodmoon knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to be a real swordsman. His coordination skills allow him to be a fierce opponent in close combat. It is said that engaging him in anything other than ranged combat is foolish.
3. Superhuman Agility/Dexterity: While not being as dextrous or fast-moving as many of the world's heroes, Bloodmoon is still above the average human level in terms of agility and dexterity. He is able to run faster than an Olympian and is capable of jumping great distances. He can also leap several dozen feet into the air when he concentrates.
