Character History
James Boyd was a dedicated soldier in UNTIL when the opportunity to volunteer for Project Fortify came up. Project Fortify was the "child" of Project Onslaught but was focused on not so aggressive capabilities. Project Fortify looked at creating advances in human durability and strength.
James's body was introduced to a crystalline substance that was meant to enter and reinforce his cellular structure. Instead the crystal laced and replaced his cells, turning him into a living diamond.
James was given new training to take advantage of his new powers, and the codename Diamondskin. He was then placed into various UNTIL super teams over the next few years, working his way up the UNTIL ladder.
Then in 2009, the Qularr attacked Millennium City, instigated by the Shadow Destroyer. Many heroes died in that surprise attack, many of them Diamondskin knew from various groups he served with. Diamondskin blamed the command at UNTIL, in what he felt was faulty intel, for not only the attack but the deaths of his friends. So enraged, Diamondskin attacked Major Jason Larke, UNTIL commander of Project Stargazer. This act promptly landed Diamondskin in the brig and loss of rank.
After a short time, Diamondskin was reinstated in UNTIL under a few conditions. As part of his probation, Diamondskin was to head up the re-instated Epsilon Squad. Instantly Diamondskin knew what this assignment meant: punishment. The Epsilon Squad was known as the dumping ground for UNTIL. Any agent that was unruly or didn't fit in anywhere else was placed in the Epsilon Squad. Even reformed villains were started out in the Epsilon Squad. Now this band of misfits were Diamondskin's charge. His advancement depended on getting the gang of oddballs to work together as a team. Diamondskin has the feeling he'll be in the Epsilon Squad for a while.
Personality
Diamondskin has been very quick to anger lately. His assignment to the Epsilon Squad has left him a bit bitter.
Diamondskin is also having some personal troubles. He is coming to terms with the after affects of being transformed to a crystalline being. Currently he is feeling shunned by normal society, which only leads to his morose and bitter feelings.
Despite his gloomier outlook on life, he never waivers in helping his friends. He is still a true hero, always ready to sacrifice himself if the need arises, even as he comes to terms with being a monstrous human.

Strength
Diamondskin's diamond body is superhumanly strong since his bodily tissue is vastly more powerful than the organic muscular and skeletal structures of a normal human.
Stamina
Since the muscle tissue of Diamondskin's body is solid diamond, it is vastly superior and more efficient than normal human muscle tissue. Diamondskin possessed almost inexhaustible physical stamina. However, Diamondskin's brain does require sleep on occassion so he has to rest himself at least on occassion.
Durability
Diamondskin's body is composed of diamond, the hardest natural substance on Earth, his body is virtually invulnerable to conventional physical injury. He has shrugged off rocket launchers, thousands of volts of eletricity, exposure to temperatures as high as several thousand degrees, powerful lasers, Titanium bullets, falls from tremendous heights, and tremendous impact forces without sustaining injury.
Regenerative Healing Factor
In spite of his great durability, it is possible for Diamondskin to be injured or even be destroyed. However if part of his body is injured or broken, he rapidly regenerates the damage. He once regrew a shattered hand in less than an hour. However, if most or all of his body is shattered, he requires outside assistance to gather the shattered pieces before he can reassemble himself.

- Diamondskin will patrol the streets, never refusing to help anyone in distress. If he sees or hears trouble, he will fight it, no matter what level the encounter. It can take Diamondskin a while to get across town.
- Diamondskin is a recreation from my character Diamondskin from City of Heroes. While not the same character, there are a lot of foundations similar between them.
- Diamondskin started out in City of Heroes as a Invulnerable/Super Strength Tank. Later, due to story line, he became a Stone Armor/Super Strength Tank.
- Diamondskin, in City of Heroes, was the first character I created. Diamondskin was the first character I created in Champions Online.
