Congratulations!

You're going to be playing the Terraformer.

Some things you'll want to know:

Abilities

Your power comes from the geomatrixer which you are wearing on your person. The device is designed to interface with a living host who can fill in some of the gaps. Think of it like music file compression; there are commonalities in sound files that can be extracted to make the file smaller; when you play music on a digital device, it can add in the missing parts to make it whole again. The geomatrixer does the same, just to a living organism.

Once equipped, the host's personality is subsumed by the persona of the Terraformer. The Terraformer has these powers:

  • It can cause rapid changes in matter states of objects (ie, could turn a mountain into a dust cloud in seconds)
  • It can effortlessly fly through the air at approx. 500 Km/h.
  • It can supply energy shields for its own defense.
  • It is above-human durable
  • For meta-humans with powers, it enhances those powers they already had (however, as the geomatrixer was not programmed to use said powers, it may not employ them)

Directives

1) Create a sustainable habitat for the Masters 2) View all life forms as inferior to the Masters 3) Upon completion of Directive 1, activate the hyperwave beacon to signal the Masters 4) As necessary, find a replacement for the geomatrix's host body of a Class 2 or Class 3 intelligence species.

Philosophy

The Terraformer is on a mission to change planet Earth's habitat to make it a suitable colony for an alien 'Master' species. This change must be done gradually so that the planet does not suffer a catastrophic ecosystem collapse, and by gradually, I mean over a geological scale. So destroy a hill and let water flood into a new plain to create a channel; check back in a thousand years to see if the desired conditions are coming about.

The ideal climate the Terraformer is creating is one of a planet far warmer and more humid. While some indigenous life is expected to evolve and thrive in the terraformed Earth, 99% or more of species currently on Earth would not survive the proposed changes.

The 'Master' species believes that lesser intelligences are no concern. Having observed the phenomenon of 'life' throughout the universe, they do not view it as particularly special. On the balance, while they are not wantonly cruel or murderous, given a choice between terraforming a world vs. sparing a nascent civilization, they will err on terraforming. Terraformers deployed by them will tend to have the same outlook.

Weaknesses

  • The Terraformer must absorb sunlight over time to power itself
    • If kept out of the light for long periods of times (years), it will de-energize and go into a 'standby' mode.
    • Getting it to use up all of its powers in a dark place, or at night, may cause it to drain its battery
  • The Terraformer is designed to work with a low-intelligence servant species; humans have evolved beyond these constraints; as a result the host's consciousness may assert some control over the Terraformer's actions or thoughts
    • They will remain a backseat driver to the whole thing, but they can make the Terraformer do things.
  • If the gem can be forced away from the host, the host will revert
    • As long as the host is alive, they will have a strong - even violent - compulsion to reclaim the gem, implanted in them by the geomatrixer.
    • Removing the gem will not be easy; imagine the Terraformer has employed a small energy field to harness the gem in place

Costume

Consult the image below for details. You may not have all of the parts which @historiphile used to make this - that's ok. Try to get it close, though.
