User:Wolflord
Wolflord here, aka Mordykus on CO. Glad you come to see more about me.
I'm a lifetimer on the game but still don't play as much as other people around. Only a few of my toons have reached the level 40 after 3 years, but I recently decided to grind them a bit. Only two of them currently have an updated page (Black Storm and Sayako) and I'm trying to find some time and dedication to give the others the same treatment, as most of them do have a background in the game. I guess I'm just too lazy to write and create nice-looking pages (english not being my native language, though I don't think I'm that bad speaking or writing it...), or too busy on other videogames.
About me
I'm a 34-years-old metalhead from France. Big fan of comic books though I don't buy a lot, and I play a lot of different games too, from online games to board games, trading card games, etc.
About comics and superheroes, since we're on CO, my favorite heroes are Batman and Ghost Rider. I prefer DC over Marvel, but like both. Not too big on mangas, though I've read some regularly (mainly shonen).
I'm pretty sure the rest is just personal trivia with nothing interesting, so, that's all about me.
Current roster
(up to date as of March 27th, 2018)
As you will see, each of them use a different power set and/or concept.
- Black Storm : probably my main character, though not the first one I created, but I think he was my first lv40. Nothing much to add here since his page tells everything you need to know about him. He's my Electricity toon.
- Wolflord : he should be my main since he's supposed to be "me", as in "the me I'd like to be if I was a superhero". I started to write a page about him but I'll probably do it all again, I'm not pleased with it. Long story short, he's a werewolf who doesn't transform. Think Glabro from the Werewolf PnP. Or maybe "what if Moon Knight was bitten by a werewolf Wolverine". He's from the Dark Ages too. Recently changed his costume to something more modern ; call it his new 52 update. Obviously my Bestial toon.
- Screwlhu : ever seen a big Cthulhu roaming around MC, clad in a dark green aura ? That's me. Not as big as I want him to be, but hey, if I could have a real Cthulhu, he'd be a Cosmic supervillain with tentacles larger than a Mega Destroid. He's a mix of Darkness, Telepathy and Sorcery. He used to be named Cthulhu, but then he took a reset to the face.
- The Crystal Vanguard : these ones are old in my memory. I first created them when I was 12 or 13, I think. Drew some stuff for no reason, and came with a team of 6 superheroes inspired by Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball and super sentai. They were young inhabitants of a planet called Crystal, forced to flee to Earth after their realm was taken over by evil forces (Transformers anybody ?). When I came into CO, I got the concept back and modernized it to something better. They are :
- Faucon : the leader. Controls pure energy (Force PS). Looks like a hawk in a white-and-blue power armor. I swear he isn't a Defender ripoff, though he too has blonde hair (when in human form) and is some nice boy scout. I'd like to make him as a tired leader, who understand his responsability but is unwilling to use it to his final days, and only wants some peace and rest.
- Hellkommander Diablo : the anti-hero. Controls shadows and void(Darkness PS). Inspired by the Black Dragon from Saint Seiya with a Vegeta-meet-Spawn persona. The mandatory black & red broody guy with a dragon look. I called him simply Diablo before, but I added "Hellkommander" to prevent any copyright issue with the Blizzard character. Hellkommander is the nickname of Nattefrost, Carpathian Forest's singer.
- The Swordfish : the brain. Controls water that he uses to create blades (TK PS). He's something like a hybrid between Green Lantern and Aqualad/Kaldur'ahm. Since he's not the strongest of the team, he relies on his smart use of abilities. The pink/red glasses on his eyes were inspired by Cyclops from the X-men.
- Stone Goat : the muscle. Controls rock (Earth PS). He had a purple suit before, but I changed it to yellow/brown since. He also looks like a tri-horned minotaur. Gentle guy with heavy biceps, a bit naive but not dumb.
- Wildbeast : the teenager. Controls fire (Fire PS). Though being the youngest of the team (and Stone Goat's brother), he has the greatest power potential among them. He's hot-blooded and acts before thinking, which often leads to collateral damage. In the first concept, he was a tiger with deer horns (to fit the idea that his family has horns traits). Now he wears classical red and yellow tights. His persona is quite like Johnny Storm/Human Torch, as are his powers.
- Naja : the chick and 6th ranger, sort of. She's a very recent add to the roster. In the original team, the 6th member was called Anubis, then Garm (from Egyptian jackal to Scandinavian hellhound), and he was a mechanical wolf-like fighter with a chainsaw and a drill for hands. Though I obviously liked the idea of a wolf in the team, the concept just didn't fit with the rest, and I finally changed it all completely. Naja is the only girl and also the only true human. She's a soldier who uses an emerald green snake-like armor for covert ops in jungle, against VIPER. Her weapons are poisoned claws (Fighting Claws/Stealth PS) and her armor is heavily inspired by two look-alike cyborgs : Sektor from Mortal Kombat, and Fulgore from Killer Instinct.
- Hagen Cybot : he was my take on Sith-inspired CO character, but the story was truely made by the game. Hagen comes from a future in which the Qularr attack on MC succeeded, resulting in a post-apocalyptic world where the survivors are enslaved by the aliens, or hunted down by Destroids. To prevent this timeline to ever happen, he was sent back to our present to fight alongside the Champions. The plan succeeded, but Hagen had no way back to his timeline since it never existed, so he's stuck in the present for good. He's my Dual Blades character.
- Mist of Fury : she's Black Storm's sister, more or less. My first female character was named Bunny Haze, a cop girl with light mecha armor, but I got bored of her and deleted her. After some time, I thought she was a nice character but lacked gameplay interest, so I made her again with a new identity and powers, and incorporated it into Black Storm's story. Mist of Fury is only Bunny's body, and her soul has been replaced by a nephilim's one. She uses Celestial powers, both for healing and damage. Most of her different outfits are inspired by Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail.
- Venus Ishtari : a female cupid, servant of Aphrodite, and archer-in-training. Beautiful redhead who's not really used to the human world but is eager to do her best and make a lot of friends. Think Wonder Woman with the brain of Sailor Moon.
- Draiman Gonzales : he's my homage to the martial arts characters in video games (mostly), the most famous being Jin Kazama from Tekken (hence the spiky hair), and Terry Bogart from Fatal Fury. Unarmed PS with chi powers. His name is a pun, just read the three first letters : DRA-GON. Other than that, he doesn't have much of a story, which is fine since none of these fighting games characters have one either. Or at least, nobody cares.
- Tenebr-X : a military Power Armor/cyborg rusting in a basement, until (see what I did there) Black Storm inadvertently woke it up during a fight with a bunch of bad guys. That's as far as the connexion goes, and I never planned to make Tenebr-X a sidekick or a Beta Ray Bill to Storm's Thor. Maybe I should. Or should I ?
- London Plague : a scientist turned mad after a failed experiment involving the Qularr invasion. His body is inhabited by thousands of venomous insects, and their buzzing and crawling underneath his skin turned him crazy. He was imprisoned to prevent any disaster, but escaped and started a career as a vigilante. Not with much success though, as the insects feed on his victims once they're paralyzed by the poison. The reason why he's not a supervillain is yet to be determined. He's probably just acting out of instinct.
- Libra Tenebris : a french fencer superhero, who got an upgrade when he was chosen by a mystical force named the Libra to be his Herald of Justice. The concept of a cosmic force choosing people in time of need came from Marvel's Captain Universe, but the first idea was to have a full supergroup of 12 characters, each one using a different power set and one of the 12 constellations. It sadly never happened, but hope isn't gone (for more info about it, check this out [1]).
- Carlton Powers : Draiman Gonzales was the martial artist ripoff, Carlton Powers is the "big-guy-in-armor-with-heavy-rifle" one. He draws inspirations from Gears of War, Unreal Tournament, Halo, Starcraft, Warhammer 40k, and so on. And of course, he has a full set of rifle, guns, bazooka and gatling. The name Carlton was taken from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air...
- Captain Strong : a Golden Age superhero. He disappeared during the dramatic events of Detroit and was thought dead in action. He wasn't though, and came back as if nothing had changed. A lot has changed, obviously, and he has to understand why he disappeared and how. His powers come from a pill he takes that briefly transform his body into a stronger and younger one, but the effect seems to end sooner now because of his old age. He's a Might toon, and I've kept the blue and yellow color theme from the Char Builder to show that he's classical.
- Hiryu Frostblaster : an Ice crafter from Japan. Inspiration is both Iceman from the X-men, and Grey Fullbuster from Fairy Tail (again). He's a little bit smaller than most of my other toons to fit the manga-size.
- Richard E. Lewis : he was a mage trained by the Trismegistus Council, but his best abilities come from his magic guns. As he's not a true magic user, he was never adknowledged by the Council as one of them, and he quit. He's my take on the gunmage trope, enhancing basic dual guns powers with Sorcery. The name is made of the 3 godfathers of rock'n roll : Little Richard, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis.
- Mighty Ravendark : the sinister Crow King of Blashyrkh, a frozen realm in the north. For those who aren't familiar with the norvegian black metal scene, Blashyrkh and the story of King Ravendark is used by the famous band Immortal, of whom I'm a big fan, and the whole character concept was taken from their work. His black and white Viking look is a tribute to the band, and his background is made of many song titles. He can transform into a humanoid crow and create powerful streams of wind. But he doesn't dance like a crab.
- Cornelia : she's a witch with two personalities, switching from one to the other depending on the moon phase. Her full name was Cornelia of the Crescent Moon, but it was too long. The "nice" Cornelia is blonde, wears a classical blue-ish mage robe, and speaks kindly. The "bad" Cornelia is brunette, wears a red skimpy outfit and doesn't care about bad words. Gameplay wise, she's just a pure Sorcery toon.
- Omegatron : an alien from an unknown world, and a member of the Gold Stars, an intergalactic police force (much like the Green Lantern Corps or the Nova Corps). He was sent to Earth for his training. He uses a large alien weapon called the Omega Sword, granting him superhuman strength and resistance. The inspiration came from two Marvel characters, Gladiator from the Shi'ar and Ronan from the Kree.
- Phaser 7.0 : this A.I. was brought to life after the events of Fatal Err0r. Before, it was a simple anti-virus program, but now it's a true superhero. He's inspired by the Tron franchise and fights with the Particle Sword from the Power Armor PS.
- Blackest Mind : when I created this character, he was supposed to be a version of me in the CO world. In the end, he became his own thing. It's just my take on a Telepathy Freeform using the synergy between several powers.
- Menkara : an old Egyptian guardian of the dead. He used to live in the dark shadows of pyramids, keeping an eye on undiscovered royal tombs and treasures, but then something happened and he got out to fight evil. I didn't figure out the details yet. I just wanted a necromancer who doesn't look like a Takofanes wannabe or a Sovereign Sons' member. Now he looks more like a hybrid Dr Ka/Dr Fate with the power to summon zombies, because zombies are cool.
- Raphael Van Dread : a vampire. I know the game is already full of vampires, and I'm not a fan of bloodsucking emos, but I was curious to see how I could build a nice vampire as far as gameplay goes. We'll see.
- Shosuro Kenichi : inspired by my love of trading card games, mostly Yu-Gi-Oh! (though I don't play it anymore), Kenichi has a magical artifact inside which a demon is entrapped. The demon grants summoning powers to whoever wears the brace, and Kenichi uses his card deck to call creatures to fight for him. A good excuse for a Pet Commander.
- Sayako : one of my most popular characters and the one I use the most for roleplay. More about her on her Primus page.
- Nekomancer : what happens when you want to create a cute cat character and try to find a funny name ? There you go. Nekomancer is a real necromancer, but he's a cat. And people don't take him seriously because he's cute and fluffy. One of the few humorous characters I made.
- Jungler : an Afro-American speedster. I know people would quickly jump to the conclusion that I made a mix of Flash and Black Panther, but such is not the case (I think).
- Epoxy Core : cyber-enhanced super agent. Mostly created for the cyberpunk look inspired by work like Ghost in the shell, Blame, Ergo Proxy, Matrix and Deus Ex.
- Mr Frightchicken : some kind of pun. Instead of a scaring crows, he frightens chicken. Other than that, it's a Infernal character with focus on self-healing.
- Mordykus : my in-game character for Paragon Dawn/Dawn Radio since I became a DJ for the real-life webradio. Metalhead style, electricity powers because thunder and lightning are "metal", and the ability to assume a demonic form.
- Zealot : Multifarian version of Mordykus, related to Praetorian dusk.
