Park Yeonwoo, also known as Thomas Park is a vigilante operating in Millennium City who sometimes works alongside the members of Grainger's Team. Originally a failed athlete due to the limitations of his body, Thomas had a fateful encounter with one of Bobby Creeseman's Heralds, Rukia, in which the Herald of Ruin had seemingly killed the former. After miraculously surviving the ordeal, Thomas's body unlocked a unique and strange ability that allows him to push past his limits through sheer grit and willpower when near death, and to resist the effects of Cut Destroyer without the dependency of Celestial powers. However, he does not have full control of the power.

Thomas is the first person in history to have survived an attack by Rukia with the intention to kill, making him a target of both the Supercosmic Villain, as well as his older sister. Thomas is also believed to be crucial in UNITY's plan to stop Creeseman once and for all.

Background

Many years ago, an extremely wealthy and talented North Korean general named Park Jun Ho received a curse that condemned his bloodline from producing successful sons, for which every son to be born would be plagued with the curse of never reaching Jun Ho in success or would result in a stillborn. As a result, the Park bloodline produced mainly daughters. Due to Jun Ho's pride, the general remained adamant that all subsequent children retain the surname "Park" to keep his bloodline intact for years to come.

When Yeonwoo was conceived, the child was found to possess a brain tumor, with the doctors predicting that the child would have a very high chance of becoming a stillborn. In a desperate attempt to appease the curse, Yeonwoo's father suggested aborting the child and hoping for a daughter, however, Yeonwoo's mother remained adamant about giving birth to the son and allowing him to live. As a compromise, the couple sought out Christianity and joined a fellowship, in which countless hours of prayer were arranged for Yeonwoo's birth to go successfully. Yeonwoo's birth was met with a miracle, in which the child displayed signs of life and the tumor mysteriously disappeared. As a result of the gratitude the parents had for the faith, Yeonwoo's father decided to give his son another name, Thomas, after one of the apostles of Jesus Christ.

Powers and Abilities

Due to being a son born in the bloodline of Park Jun Ho, Thomas initially received the generational curse in the form of a brain tumor that put his life at risk. Miraculously, the tumor had disappeared allowing Thomas to be born and to live his life, however, the curse would instead manifest through crippling asthma and other medical conditions that have compromised his body's ability to develop.

Despite Thomas' fierce work ethic in his dream to become a tank like his role model, Terra, the aspiring hero was met with countless failures as his body refused to improve in response to his training and diet. This led to Thomas possessing a significantly weaker body compared to other superheroes, including those who did not possess any superpowers. When Thomas enrolled in Ravenswood Academy, Socrates noted that Park was only able to achieve Level 4. Upon leaving the simulation and entering the Powerhouse, the trainers were incapable of pushing Thomas's body beyond the Level 4 mark, with almost every other superhero achieving Level 6. As a result of this, Defender advised Thomas to abandon his dreams to become a superhero for his safety.

Above Average Athleticism: Thomas' admiration for Terra has been foundational to his desire to become stronger in spite of his limitations. This admiration has manifested in the form of a fierce desire to train himself consistently. Though the results of his training have been relatively lackluster in comparison to other highly trained individuals in the superhero scene, Thomas' conditioning was still respectable considering his background.

• Above Average Strength: Thomas' main forte in his athleticism is his strength. From multiple years of weight training, Thomas has built a strong array of muscles allowing him to bench press around 100 kilograms, deadlift 140 kilograms, and squat 125 kilograms. When Thomas was attacked by several members of The New Purple Gang, the athlete was strong enough to throw an Earner and momentarily trade blows with a Hired Muscle, however due to his low stamina, the spike in adrenaline caused Thomas to be overpowered quickly by the larger and stronger enforcers until Terra arrived to save him.
• Average Endurance and Stamina: Thomas' biggest weakness is his stamina due to his asthma. Though Thomas runs consistently, the athlete noticed that his body is incapable of running any longer than 20 minutes before "gassing out", even if it is a light jog.

Thomas trades blows with a Hired Muscle despite being outmatched in strength

Indomitable Will: As a result of his upbringing, Thomas has an incredibly strong willpower that allows him to withstand immense degrees of physical and psychological pain without surrendering. Before awakening his power, Thomas was able to take the hits of a Hired Muscle without going down and was able to hold his own against several members of Purple Gang despite being outnumbered and outmatched in strength. It would be this quality that attracted the attention of the superheroine Terra, who at the time supported Defender's decision to admonish Park from pursuing superhero activities, but would slowly recognize the boy's extreme levels of grit and determination. What would start out as Terra suggesting Thomas train as an athlete, would eventually transition to her supporting the boy in trying out to fight crime under her tutelage.

Fastidious Eye: Thomas developed a habit of being incredibly detail-oriented in response to his job as an inspector. When Thomas was in Ravenswood Academy, though the hero trainee was incapable of taking down any Qularr, Socrates noted that Thomas had identified the weak spots of every alien in the simulation that would theoretically allowed him to defeat them in one blow if not for his conditioning. When Thomas helped the simulation Defender fight Black Talon, Thomas found a way to completely bypass the supervillain's armor by noticing a structural flaw in the side, defeating the villain with a crowbar in two strikes, a feat that surprised even the artificial intelligence.

Technological Knowledge: Thomas is very proficient with technology, being an inspector of gadgets and robots in his biotechnology company. His phone is heavily modified to allow the device to track his heart rate, and accurately measure calorie consumption of his body. Later on, Thomas also invents a device known as Gauntlet, which interfaces with his nervous system to attempt to learn more about his limit-breaking power.

Trained Hand-to-Hand Combatant: During Thomas' tutelage under the superheroine Terra, the superheroine taught Thomas the fundamentals of martial arts, modifying it to account for the fact that Thomas did not possess the same geological powers she had which would normally integrate itself in the fighting style. The style takes advantage of a relatively large bludgeoning weapon type. For Thomas, the superhero would use a club imbued with an electrical current which he had modified, impressing Terra.

Post Rukia Arc (Level 4-10)

When Creeseman learned of Thomas' fixation on the villain's older sister, Jennifer, the younger brother decided to lure Thomas into a trap by using his Herald Rukia, who was identical in appearance to the latter Creeseman. Rukia, realizing that Thomas was only Level 4 accepted Bobby's request, lured a lovestruck Park to her bedroom, and proceeded to viciously beat the superhero trainee. Thomas, who felt betrayed by who he still believed to be Jennifer, attempted to fight back through willpower but the gap was far too overwhelming. Moments from losing consciousness, Park activated a homing beacon from his phone to alert nearby superheroes for help.

Thomas' disappearance from training was met with great concern by Terra, who decided to track down Thomas. Terra picked up his distress signal and rushed over to Rukia's location. Barely saving Thomas, the superheroine and superhero trainee duo faced off against the Herald of Ruin, but Rukia continued overpowering the two despite Terra's intervention.

Thomas passes out from grief after Terra's death

As the duo continued fighting, Thomas began to reflect on his weakness, realizing that no matter how much he tried he would never improve, and that willpower alone was not enough to win fights. This belief overtook the young superhero upon witnessing Rukia killing Terra right before his very eyes. Terra's final words to Thomas would be to live. However, these words were cut off as Rukia proceeded to impale Thomas as well, seemingly killing the duo. As Thomas lay on the ground dying, Terra's final words continued to resonate in his head, along with the words of the curse of Park Jun Ho, condemning Thomas' existence, and finally, the words of his parents revealing his brain tumor. As Thomas continued to reflect on his life, the young hero miraculously got to his feet, much to Rukia's shock, who sliced at Park again with Cut Destroyer, but the blade was incapable of severing his body, becoming lodged in his ribcage. A battle-crazed Thomas then pulled Rukia in, crushing her arm to the Herald's chagrin and disbelief. Rukia managed to yank Cut Destroyer out of Thomas' body, but a piece remained embedded in him, as his body strangely absorbed the piece of the scythe. Sensing that Rukia had taken damage, Creeseman ordered her retreat, which she did reluctantly. Thomas would later pass out from exhaustion and grief over the death of his role model and older sister figure.

Upon regaining consciousness, the doctors at Mercy Hospital were astonished at the fact that Thomas had completely recovered and that he had no permanent injuries aside from a strange black scar from where Cut Destroyer had sliced his side. Following Rukia's attack on Thomas, the superhero realized that there would be times when his body could push past his Level 4 barrier when near death or at moments of crisis. Additionally, after being nearly killed by the Herald of Ruin, Thomas discovered that his body was capable of improving beyond Level 4, shattering the limit shell that his body had encountered previously.

Thomas catches Cut Destroyer with an unknown power

Unknown Overlevel State: The basis of Thomas' power, though still shrouded in mystery, appeared to consist of the superhero fighting at a degree of strength far surpassing the limits of his initial ability and those of a similar level. The first instance of his over-level ability was during his encounter with Rukia, who, despite being a Level 4, was capable of damaging the Herald. At Level 8, a near-death Thomas miraculously was able to withstand the strikes of both Teleiosaurus and her Hatchling after a Cosmic hunt had gone wrong. At Level 10, Thomas would be strong enough to resist the strikes of an aggravated Black Fang, even with the aggressor enraged at his blocks. It is noted that this power does not trigger every time Thomas is near death, however, and this over-level power seems to happen in very specific circumstances that Thomas has yet to understand.

• Enhanced Active Defense: Thomas's power allows him to tap into greater variants of known active defense techniques practiced by superheroes in Millennium City. Though the toll is much more costly for Thomas, his usage of these known techniques seemingly goes beyond the conventional limits, allowing him to pull off feats that would ordinarily be impossible for superheroes at his level.
  • Enhanced Indestructible: When Thomas' power activates, the superhero enters a state where his durability greatly exceeds his limits. Roy, one of Thomas' trainers in the Powerhouse, recognized this power as being similar to the Active Defenses used by the superheroes out in the field. Still, Thomas' version of Indestructible seemingly lasted much longer which baffled the Powerhouse Trainer. The damage reduction his body takes was such to the point where Park was capable of withstanding strikes of both Teleiosaurus and her Hatchling as a Level 10 superhero, a feat that was considered impossible. However, upon Indestructible's expiry, along with his power activation, Park loses consciousness and is incapable of fighting for at least several days.
• Inborn Tenacity: In addition to using Active Defense techniques, Thomas appeared to possess the ability to increase his defenses with each strike landing on his body, up to a 200% increase in his overall damage resistance. When a Level 10 Thomas fought against Teleios in his tower alongside a group of other superheroes, the team was completely outmatched, causing Teleios to bring Thomas down to a nearly unconscious state. The team would abandon Thomas out of amusement and leave the superhero to die. Moments from death, Thomas' power activated, allowing him to withstand multiple chained assaults from the chimeric supervillain without blocking once.
• Hysterical Strength: When pressured enough, Thomas can tap into an unknown source of power known as "Hysterical Strength", which boosts his physical strength to absurd levels. Under the effects of Hysterical Strength, Thomas was capable of stopping the strike of Cut Destroyer with his bare hands. The second time Thomas called upon Hysterical Strength, the superhero was strong enough to take down a Legendary Class Supervillain in two haymakers. Similar to the inherent defense boosts of his Overlevel State, Hysterical Strength seems to have no perceived limit in its power multiplier, but similar to his enhanced Active Defenses, the stamina toll is immense.

Vigilance Arc (Level 10-15)

By the time Thomas reached Level 10, his abilities and combat proficiency with his club had increased to the point where he was capable of fighting and taking down multiple Purple Gang members without relying on his Overlevel power. Thomas' rage became out of control as he not only apprehended the gang members but beat them severely the same way Rukia had done to him. Thomas' rampage was later ended by Kodiak in a brutal one-sided fight. Kodiak initially wanted to arrest Park but was stopped by Defender, who was surprised that Thomas' power had significantly increased.

Park attempted to attack Defender out of sheer desperation, however he would find himself completely outmatched by the seasoned superhero. Upon being asked what his motivation was, Thomas replied that originally his decision to pursue heroism would be for the sake of himself and his purpose. However, after losing both his mentor and older sister figure, Thomas decided to pursue heroism and strength to one day become strong enough to defeat and put an end to Rukia. Defender rebuked Thomas, pointing out that what he was pursuing was not heroism and strength, but was rather pursuing vengeance. As a result, Thomas' request to become registered as a superhero was denied. Angered with Defender's decision, Thomas escaped the superhero and became on the run from the law, vowing to get revenge for Terra no matter what.

Terra's Modified Geosuit: Terra's passing meant that the superheroine's base had now been transferred to her husband's ownership, who proceeded to transfer it to Thomas. However, since Thomas didn't meet the age requirement to own the property, the ownership was transferred to Thomas' parents instead, without their knowledge. Thomas would use his father's name to register Terra's base and have access to the late superheroine's equipment, namely the blueprints to her Geosuit which comprised of military-grade kevlar.

• Geobolt Strike: Similar to how Thomas had imbued his club with electricity, Thomas sought to use the same principles to enhance the suit in response to his abilities without Overlevel. However, the first attempt at imbuing the suit with the modification electrocuted the young superhero, causing Thomas to be hospitalized for a week. Despite the extreme danger of operating the suit, Thomas, consumed by the rage of Rukia killing his former mentor forced himself to become used to the electrical current. Whenever Thomas needs the extra boost in power, the suit sends a high electrical discharge throughout Thomas' body, essentially electrocuting him and forcing his muscles to contract with even greater force than what he is capable of, enhancing his strikes. This electrically enhanced club strike was later dubbed by Thomas as the "Geobolt Strike". Thomas can call upon Geobolt Strike three times before his arms experience muscle failure.
• Geobolt Blitz: Thomas sends an electrical current into his leg muscles, and blasts forward in a violent lunge using Terra's Martial Arts toward his destination. The burst of speed is fast enough for Thomas to get behind opponents unnoticed, but the blitz momentarily weakens his quadriceps causing a numbing weakness in his legs, keeping him from using Geobolt Blitz in rapid succession.

Enhanced Electrical Resilience: By forcing his body to resist the hazardous and reckless electrical current he had modified Terra's Geosuit with, Thomas has developed an extremely strong, borderline superhuman resilience to electricity-based attacks due to withstanding the current in his fighting style on a regular basis.

Thomas vs. MCPD

With Thomas fleeing from Defender, both Defender and Kodiak initiated a city-wide manhunt for the vigilante. During this time, Thomas learned new skills by being on the run from the police. As Thomas continued to try to escape from the law, the vigilante found himself being cornered by both police and superheroes alike.

Street Intellect: Thomas' street smarts were developed from avoiding and keeping his identity hidden from the general public.

• Disguises: Thomas developed multiple disguises by experimenting with different types of face molds and plastics to change his facial appearance. By the time Thomas reached Level 14, he was capable of altering his appearance to the point where his ethnicity seemingly changed entirely in the face of the public causing his wanted posters to vary erratically.
• Street Brawling: When Thomas battled a superhero who attempted to claim his bounty, the superhero managed to break Thomas' club using his super strength, forcing Thomas to rely on hand-to-hand while in an extremely exhausted and fatigued state. This resulted in Thomas being forced to fight toe-to-toe with the superhero in a fierce brawl, as opposed to Terra's martial arts which relied on blunt weaponry. Thomas would eventually reign victorious, at the cost of being severely wounded in the process.

The Sean Strucker Incident

Thomas enters his Overlevel State against Sean Strucker

As Thomas' notoriety grew, many superheroes and vigilantes learned of Park's bounty. One such was a man named Sean Strucker, who had gained a notorious reputation for being the "big bully" of the superhero scene. Among the heinous acts and controversies, Strucker became known for his racism, which translated to his desire to hunt down the Korean vigilante upon learning of Park's ethnicity. While Thomas continued to be on the run, a Level 40 Strucker tracked down Park using his bestial senses and cornered the younger metahuman in the wilderness where the two squared off. Despite becoming hardened from living on the streets, Strucker toyed with Park, with Thomas being at the mercy of the significantly stronger superhero. Sean proceeded to insult Thomas with racial slurs, all the while beating down the Level 13 superhero relentlessly. With Terra's Geosuit ripped to shreds, Thomas was defeated, but Sean continued his onslaught despite several other superheroes and officers attempting to pull the superhero away. Sean then followed up by telling Park that now he knew his identity, he wouldn't just bring him to justice, but also the parents who raised him. Realizing that Strucker had threatened his parents, the vigilante snapped, causing him to enter his Overlevel State once more.

Overlevel State - Overlevel Ultimates: During Park's beatdown from Strucker, the vigilante entered his Overlevel State out of sheer rage after Strucker threatened his parents. However, unlike his encounter with Rukia, Thomas' Overlevel State was said to have evolved, allowing him to tap into even greater levels of power, likely because his base form had gotten stronger. This change was reflected in his ability to call upon Ultimate Techniques despite not being Level 35, as well as the fact that Thomas possessed the ability to harbor multiple Ultimate Techniques and call upon them in quick succession, which was thought to be impossible.
