PART 1

LOCATION: ForceTech Ind. Moon Base Labs

Techna extended her fingers and swiped upwards at the space in front of her; a swirl of blue light followed her fingers before stopping and shaping itself into a rectangular holographic display. The display showed live feeds from several of her deep space probes, images of the edges of the star systems surrounding Earth and the Solar System itself appeared on the display. She tapped a few times on the hard light display as she flicked through the different feeds.

“Nothing here…nothing here…hmm…” she mused quietly.

Techna sighed deeply and flicked her wrist at the display, dismissing it. She turned her attention back to the work station nearby as a few of her robotic assistants replenished some of the depleted materials before flying off to another part of the building. A spherical robot flew up to Techna, whizzing around her attempting to get her attention. It beeped and flashed several times; Techna waved the robot away but it came back, insistent on delivering a message.

“Go away; I’ve got things to do! What are you even doing in the upper levels?” Techna frowned.

The robot beeped insistently, whizzing around Techna’s head making her feel slightly queasy. She sighed and rolled her eyes;

“Alright, this had better be important.”

The robot beeped twice before projecting a screen in front of her. She frowned slightly as she read the display.

“Minor damage to the east corridor from Surface Level to Level 1.1 Arms…suspicious teleport…Psion…half an hour ago…Why have you labelled Psion’s teleport as suspicious? He was keyed into the system a while ago…wait…did he use a general teleport or targeted?”

The circular display to her left lit up briefly as it supplied an answer.

“Targeted Teleportation. Destination: Downtown, Millennium City. Target designation: Sai’edra Eli’dahon.”

“Hmm, thanks Z. It’s nothing to worry about, unless we’ve had a psychic development.” Techna responded.

The spherical robot shut off the display and zoomed away. Techna made her way up towards Surface Level; she turned onto the east corridor and soon came across three small craters on the right side of the corridor. The metal panels had buckled under the pressure and strips of blue material were embedded into each of the holes. Techna shook her head and tapped on the screen on her left gauntlet before exiting through the nearby doors.

Mentella’s eyes fluttered open and she looked up from across the room; her fingertips pressed lightly into the sides of her head. Techna had just entered the room looking slightly confused, a question forming in her mind but she spoke first.

“Did your probes have anything to report?” Mentella asked

Techna turned to her sister and shook her head quickly; the question she wanted to ask vanishing as she walked forwards.

“Nothing except a few trade vessels which flew nearby, they were thoroughly scanned and nothing activated any of the sensors that my probes have. I’ve checked, double checked and triple checked functionality and they are all at 100%. If he does turn up…I’ll know about it. How about you? Are you picking up anything?”

“Aside from the psychic signatures of the human, meta human, Lemurian and extra-terrestrials present on Earth, the only different psychic signatures are those whom we are familiar with or are currently tracking. There is a sizeable number of ‘shielded’ and ‘shadowed’ minds on the planet, but those minds, at this point in time have no information worth discussing. I haven’t sensed a foreign psychic signature of another one of our people let alone that of a High Consul member.” Mentella answered.

Techna made her way over to her eldest sister and dropped down onto the seat next to her. Mentella paused as she observed her youngest sister.

“What troubles you?” she asked

“Hmm, just thinking about Sai’edra. I…Is there no way to prevent Kr’anri’s vision from becoming a reality? All the measures I’ve put in place to secure Sai seem…futile if it is set in stone that she will be taken. I know you’ll do everything to help her but…I’m just…How do you even know that Kr’anri’s vision was a fixed event?”

Sensing the feeling of hopelessness from her sister, Mentella motioned for her to move closer; Techna dropped her head on Mentella’s lap as a look of defeat found its way onto her face. Mentella placed her hand on Techna’s shoulder and squeezed gently.

“During Kr’anri’s merge I worked with the psychic echo of one of the Prosai, from the information he was able to share I gathered he was perhaps the oldest Prosai, perhaps one of the first to interact with the scientists responsible for engineering the Prosythian Race. He explained to me that the Prosai can see immediate, possible and fixed time points or futures. Unfortunately this means that on the rare occasion that Kr’anri does have a glimpse of a fixed point in time, her memory system and consciousness both suffer temporarily. Which was the case when Kr’anri experienced her vision of Elyisaus taking Sai’edra; it will happen, regardless of how much effort we put into attempting to stop it.” explained Mentella

Techna twisted slightly to look up at Mentella.

“That doesn’t mean we can’t try to stop him from taking her in a nasty manner. Does Kr’anri know how to access possible futures?”

“That is a skill she has to develop on her own or with assistance from the knowledge of her own people, if she so desires. As for me, the procedure I carried out whilst in her mind, essentially handed to Kr’anri much of what she is capable to do right now. However this particular skill should not be forced. If I was to attempt to develop full access to the ability then it is highly likely that Kr’anri would go mad through the continued exposure to the different futures flashing before her eyes in a constant stream. It is a delicate ability, even with safeguards in place; her subconscious could still absorb some of the possible futures and then project it into her conscious mind.” Mentella replied.

Techna dropped her head back down;

“Oh, I see. That…would greatly compromise her functionality as a person.”

Techna raised her head slightly as she had a look at the console in front of them. She frowned slightly as she noticed faint traces of chocolate frosting and a piece of what looked to be a ceramic plate embedded in the screen. Mentella’s eyes narrowed as she realised what had caught her sister’s attention. Techna looked up to her sister, a question formed in her mind as she opened her mouth to speak. Mentella sighed and ran a hand through her hair slowly, as she addressed her sister.

“Before you ask, no I’m not willing to explain it and yes, it has a lot to do with Psion.”

Techna reached up and dislodged the shattered piece from the screen. The screen sparked intermittently as she wiped it. Techna nudged Mentella, a wide, mischievous grin spread across her face, she;

“Did…you have a food fight? Or maybe…you both indulged in a little…u-us-usr’ei?” chuckled Techna.

Mentella’s eyes widened as Techna brought her left hand to her face in a poor attempt to muffle her giggles.

“J’asira. I hardly think that-” started Mentella

Techna grinned mischievously as she anticipated Mentella’s reply, a frown soon formed on her face as Mentella stopped abruptly mid-sentence. Techna sat upright as her sister seemed to still for a moment before looking directly at her. Techna’s frown deepened as Mentella’s features changed as a look of concern formed.

“Is something wrong?” asked Techna

“We need to bring Sai’edra back to the lab. It’s Elyisaus. He’s here.” Mentella frowned

Techna closed her eyes as she tapped into the data stream from her deep space probes. She bolted upright as a stream of data flowed directly into her mind; a live feed of Elyisaus flying steadily towards the probes popped up on a wide holographic display nearby and in her mind. The doors to their left slid open as Su walked into the room, her attention firmly fixed on the robotic head in her hands.

“J’asira, do you have any spare positronic brains lying around? This robot guard sustained severe damage. Sub-programs were affected unfortunately, so I’m guessing it spread via the corrupted algorithms, in this case that manifested as the guard firing at everything, including my staff, so I had to take it apart. A cascade failure, but I’m not certain how far it has progressed.” Su explained.

Su frowned at the lack of response from her sister and looked up from the robotic head.

“What is going on?”

“Elyisaus has arrived for Sai’edra. Based on what he is broadcasting when I merely brushed his mind he has little to no regard for humans or Sai’edra’s welfare.” Mentella explained as she closed her eyes.

A rectangular holo-display materialized in front of Techna; the images of the four probes flashed on the screen as they all moved into position. She tapped each one in sequence as the images lit up as the probes flew into position and projected the temporal prison around Elyisaus.

“I can slow him down for now, he’s almost in range. Su I need you on the shields, the probes will deploy a temporal prison. It will slow him down but I’m not sure if it will stop him. It should buy us enough time to secure Sai’edra.”

Su nodded, dropping the robot’s head on a nearby surface and rushing through another set of doors on the opposite side of the room. Techna moved through the holo-display panel hovering in front of her and moved to follow her sister into the lower levels of the building, she beckoned the holo-display as she left the room; the display dissipated into ribbons of light before flying after her. Techna looked over her shoulder at her eldest sister.

“I take it you’re working on contacting Sai and Psion?” asked Techna

“Yes, is the transportation active?” Mentella asked.

Techna stopped for a moment and her eyes crackled with white energy and the control panel on the level above activated instantly.

“It is now. Co-ordinates have already been set. Just be sure to key in the amount of people and then activate it.” Mentella nodded and Techna left the room, the metal doors sealing silently behind her.

LOCATION: OUTER SPACE

A bright white portal cut through the thick darkness of space, it bled a golden yellow light as a single figure drifted out of it followed by a small, flying, almost transparent disc. Sheathed in golden energy, Elyisaus grinned widely as he flew forward at a leisurely pace. The portal behind him widened slightly before collapsing in on itself, vanishing entirely. He looked out towards the wide expanse of space front of him, his eyes narrowing as he set his gaze on the planet nearby. The Earth stood out like a bright sapphire sphere amongst the vast nothingness of space. Elyisaus shook his head as he regarded the planet, a disapproving look twisting his features. He nodded towards the translucent disc, which turned to face him immediately.

“Pro’terak. Mash-ja’al, kemratk sotorenska.” he ordered.

The disc flashed slightly, acknowledging his command and flew towards Earth. As he watched the probe fly off, melting into the darkness of space, something caught his eye; a slight shift behind him. He paused momentarily as the shift occurred again; he looked around trying to spot the disturbance. Unable to pin point the disturbance, he growled and released a small blast of energy to his left; the blast flew from his fingertips and struck something. A blue shield matrix rippled around the object as it absorbed his blast; the impact of his blast caused a ripple to travel through the space before him, highlighting a shimmering large diamond shape surrounding his location and several probes arranged around him. Elyisaus frowned as the probes flashed several times before enveloping him in a blinding light.

He raised his hands above his head, and launched a blast of energy towards the light source. The light dimmed and he attempted to move and look around, quickly realizing that he was unable to move. Elyisaus looked through his raised hands towards his energy blast which was frozen in mid-air, a few feet from him. A small device attached to his temple fizzled as a slight pressure on his head accompanied the presence in his head.

<You have broken my safeguard and I can feel you in my mind, show yourself!> ~ Elyisaus

<I am Mentella Summerstone. Elyisaus Krolos, think of this as a temporary measure. We have no reason to fight, but you have travelled here with nothing but bad intentions towards an individual under my care.> ~ Mentella

<Summerstone...I do not answer to you! You…You would oppose a member of the High Consul?!> ~ Elyisaus

<You may not answer to me but, out of respect for The Code and The High Consul I have not attacked or read or disabled your mind. You know as well as I do that you have not acted in accordance with the usual procedure for such a situation. So this is your opportunity to re-think matters, before things get out of hand. I strongly suggest you make use of it.> ~ Mentella

Elyisaus growled in frustration as the pressure relented, the telepath’s influence leaving his mind. He focused, generating a chronal sphere around himself, enabling him to move. He narrowed his eyes as a grin cracked across his features. The containment matrix wavered as Elyisaus stretched out his hands, ribbons and pulses of golden chronal energy, were drawn towards his palms as he began to absorb the temporal prison.

LOCATION: PSIRUS’S PENTHOUSE

Psirus re-entered the room and frowned slightly as he looked down at his altered costume;

“I’m not sure about this…I kind of liked the large thigh rings.” he frowned.

Cavalier looked up from the drink in his hand as he lounged on the couch; he sat up a bit and looked at Psirus. He shrugged nonchalantly;

“Thigh loops are a bit weird, well when they are quite large.”

“But I like them…” sighed Psirus

Joule smiled as she stepped a little closer, careful not to touch anything with her containment suit’s energy gauntlets. They crackled slightly as she inched closer; Psirus bit his lip, fighting the impulse to find himself at the other end of the room away from Joule and her lightning.

“I do like this costume change, it is your choice ultimately but, for what it’s worth, I do think that thigh loops like you had before aren’t really that practical for combat. But that’s just my opinion.” Joule offered.

Joule stepped back to where she originally stood, Psirus relaxing slightly as he turned to Vitality;

“David? Your thoughts?”

Vitality tore his gaze away from the large window of the penthouse and turned to look at Psirus, who turned in his costume a few times. A thoughtful look came across Vitality's features as Psirus turned; he looked towards Cavalier who sat a few feet away. Cavalier pointed to Psirus's new costume and gave a thumbs up. Vitality frowned and turned his attention back to an expectant Psirus, his eyebrows raised waiting for a response.

“Well?” he asked

“I think…it looks good, it is up to you like Sai’edra said but…it may be better like this...without the loops?” Vitality answered.

Psirus nodded slowly as he looked down, seemingly deep in thought. Cavalier glanced sideways as he dug his hand into a bowl of salted pistachio nuts on the table in front of him; he grabbed a handful of the nuts, shelling three of them before eating. He picked one from the palm of his hand and looked towards Sarge who had his back towards the rest of the group as he sat on the edge of the couch. Cavalier grinned deviously and lobbed the pistachio at his team mate’s head.

“You haven’t fallen asleep on us have you Old Man?” he grinned

The pistachio bounced off Sarge’s head and onto the couch before bouncing onto floor and eventually rolling up to his boot. Sarge turned around sharply, his face holding an oddly impassive expression. He brushed off his head and frowned slightly.

“What? Hm? No of course not just thinking about a few things Danny.” replied Sarge

Cavalier moved towards Sarge and placed a hand on his shoulder, his voice taking on a very serious tone;

“It’s okay. You already collected your pension and Vit picked up your prescriptions. And before you ask, yes, your custom made toupee is on the way.”

Sarge rolled his eyes and pushed Cavalier’s hand off his shoulder and shook his head as his lips twitched, the corners threatening to turn into a smile.

“That one is so old.” he remarked

“A bit like you then?” Cavalier smirked

Joule looked over and a small smile formed on her face;

“Oh leave him alone Daniel!” she chuckled

Cavalier shrugged at her, the grin still evident on his face.

“Just having a little fun, nothing to worry about Sai.” he winked

“Chris, what do you think of Jimar’s new outfit?” asked Vitality.

At the mention of his name, Psirus looked up and once again took centre stage, lifting himself into the air surrounded by a slight disruption and spun around slowly. Sarge frowned slightly as Psirus landed in the middle of the room. Cavalier poked Sarge in the side and mouthed ‘SAY NO TO THIGH HOLES’.

“I think both costumes look good…but I really think the first costume is more YOU. I’d go for something with a personal touch personally.” Sarge nodded

“Yeah! I thought so too. Glad you agree!” Psirus smiled brilliantly

Sarge flashed a grin at Psirus as he disappeared around the corner. Sarge looked to his left with a small grin on his face as Cavalier stared back at him.

“You are kidding me right?” sighed Cavalier

“Nope.”

Cavalier shook his head; he turned to Joule offering her some of the pistachios.

“Want some?” he asked

“No thanks, I -” she started

Joule stopped as she felt a pressure on her right shoulder, she turned her head as she looked behind her as a swirl of turquoise and cyan appeared on her right, the bright flash accompanying its appearance alerting everyone in the room. Vitality stood up moving forward slightly as the colors continued to swirl around the slowly appearing figure. The maelstrom of colors dissipated into faint ribbons before coalescing to form a figure.

Psion the Psinister had appeared in the room.

His left hand soldered to Joule’s shoulder, eyes wide as he attempted to catch his breath. Psion’s normal prideful appearance seemed to be completely missing; his hair stuck out oddly on one side of his head and his costume had a few slash marks on it. He blinked a few times before standing to his full height as he registered where he was. Cavalier rolled his eyes as he recognized who it was, he stood up, holding onto his mask just in case things went south. Joule frowned as his grip on her shoulder tightened slightly;

“Psion, what are you doing here?” she asked

“Oulast’res! Sai’edra, Oulast’res!” he laughed as he turned her to face him fully.

Joule quickly made the transition to her mother tongue as she conversed with a slightly overexcited Psion.

“Oulast’ris, quro?”

“Mes’tresan!” he grinned

“Na’dres, mindr cresh soc’alu?” Joule asked

Psion’s expression changed suddenly as he bowed his head, taking his hand back and focusing intently on the floor. He mumbled something unintelligible in response to her question. Psion looked back up as Joule frowned in his direction, her energy gauntlets hummed softly as she placed her hands on her hips as she waited for a proper answer. He huffed before replying to her, his voice taking on an uncharacteristically petulant tone as he explained himself. Vitality looked over towards his team mates, who seemed to be just as stunned as him. He watched as Joule’s expression changed from frustration to shock to utter disbelief and as Psion seemed to get more embarrassed as he explained himself, waving his hands around comically before he seemed to cut himself off mid-sentence. Vitality stepped forward, interrupting the conversation between the two.

“Sai, we’re also going to need to know what is going on.”

Joule nodded and glanced back at Psion who, at the moment, looked completely embarrassed. Joule opened her mouth in an attempt to explain what Psion had told her but quickly found she was unable to do so. She just stared back at Psion, an incredulous expression on her face.

“I…honestly…do not know what to tell you. He…I…”

Sarge nodded towards Psion;

“So what was that all about? Good to see you, but…why did you come here?” he asked

Psion was about to respond when Psirus appeared from around the corner. He peered into the room his eyes darting around the room.

“What is with all the commotion in here? Oh…who is that?”

“His name is Psion and he’s about to explain why he suddenly appeared here.” replied Cavalier

Psion looked up at the 5 pairs of eyes looking at him and exhaled dramatically, dragging his palm across his face as he dropped his head. He drew himself up to his full height and glared pointedly at Cavalier.

“When you last saw me, we spoke about a certain topic. Do you recall?” he began.

Cavalier frowned slightly before a devilish smirk formed on his face;

“Oh yeah! You mean that time you asked for advice on how to --?” grinned Cavalier

Psion made a slightly strangled sound, quickly interrupting Cavalier, whose smirk had grown to a grin. Vitality shook his head slowly, smiling slightly at the memory.

“YES! Ahem, well I followed your advice and it worked until the flowers part! You knew it would fail didn’t you?! If this is some sort of joke to you I’ll--” Psion frowned.

Cavalier held up his hands and looked squarely at Psion.

“Flowers? Wait. How many did you give her? You didn’t seriously order crates of flowers did you?”

“Four hundred and thirty seven. And yes. All of the roses were dyed black and magenta.” Psion nodded.

Cavalier’s eyes widened and he looked over to Psirus who seemed equally surprised as he bit his lip.

“Oh my…that’s one too many I think.” muttered Psirus.

“Dude. I said ONE flower. I didn’t say drown her in roses.”

Psion cursed colorfully in his mother tongue, causing Joule to jerk her head back slightly. Vitality did his best to keep a straight face as he listened to Psion.

“So…did she get really angry over you flooding her place with roses or something? Why come here?” Vitality asked.

Psion shook his head slowly as he pressed his fingers into his temple, his eyes screwing shut. Psirus walked over to the counter pouring a drink into two glasses. He walked back over towards the rest of the group, noticing Psion’s damaged cape.

“Hey, let it not be said I’m a bad host, even to unexpected guests. Psion, what happened to your cape?” asked Psirus as he handed over the drink.

Psion accepted the drink; the glass was quickly enveloped in a cyan energy field and levitated in the air to his right. His eyes snapped open as he processed what Psirus had asked. He stretched his hand back, grabbing hold of his cape and yanking it around to get a better look; three large holes were clearly visible in the dark blue material. Another strangled sound came from Psion as he examined the cape. He angrily tossed the cape behind him again and turned his gaze to Psirus, aiming for stoic expression on his face and failing miserably.

“Obviously it has been damaged.”

“El’sai…what did you do for this to happen? It must have been the last straw or something…Mentella lashing out isn’t exactly normal.” Joule frowned.

“She tried to kill me, I barely escaped with my life!” exclaimed Psion

“Oh how terrible that must have been for you…” Cavalier stated in a monotone voice.

Psion looked to Cavalier whose expression openly displayed how uninterested he was.

“So why exactly did she ‘try to kill you’?” asked Sarge

“I merely brought a cake…” he started

“…And?”

Psion shuffled nervously on the spot as he continued;

“…I tried to feed her a slice. I lost my footing for a few seconds and it exploded…all over her.”

The entire room went silent for a moment before Psirus broke the silence with a quiet yet audible;

“Oh my...”

Cavalier burst out laughing and was nudged sharply in the side by Sarge;

“Are you serious?! Ohhh man…this is great!” he laughed

Psion frowned and turned slightly away from the group, the faintest dusting of a blush appearing on his face.

“I am absolutely thrilled to discover my misfortune causes you so much joy.” he grumbled.

“Danny! Don’t laugh at him!” exclaimed Psirus.

“Yeah, Danny.” Sarge echoed

Cavalier chuckled quietly as he attempted to regain his composure; he looked up to see Joule who was fighting to stop herself from laughing at the admission. They locked eyes for a second as she shook her head viciously as she bit her lip; the corners of her eyes wrinkled as she strained to hold in her amusement. Vitality’s eyes widened as he took in Psion’s confession, he blinked a few times, managing to maintain a straight face as he addressed Psion;

“So why exactly did you come here?” He asked.

“It was either here or teleporting to China. It just so happens that I know Sai’edra better than I do the Bionic Bullet.” Explained Psion.

“Whew…anyway. So you almost got impaled by Mentella and you came here? What do you expect us to do? Did you come here for help?” asked Cavalier

“As much as it pains me to say this, yes I did partly come here for…assistance.”

“How much did you think about this before you acted? Mentella is…Mentella. Do you honestly believe you can hide from her?” asked Joule

Psion’s left eyebrow arched as he looked at Joule;

“Sai’edra please, not only are my psychic shields in place but I have also concealed my psychic signature. I am undetectable and I have enough defense to keep myself safe for a very long time.” Psion scoffed.

Vitality glanced at Joule, who in turn shrugged. A self-satisfied smirk appeared on his face as he continued;

“I only need a place to lay low in the event she physically comes to Earth. Besides, even if Mentella was to find me she would be incapable of-”

<You should know better than to try and hide from me. I’ll deal with you later. I’m going to take control for a moment.> ~ Mentella

<Well, as they say here it was ‘worth a shot’. Can I sit in on this or…?> ~ Psion

<This involves you, so listen.> ~ Mentella.

Psion seemed to freeze mid-sentence as his eyes clouded over, a soft magenta hue replacing his normal cyan hued eyes. His face quickly transformed into a stern look, almost disapproving as his head turned to take in the surroundings. Psion’s voice took on an odd quality and tone, sounding slightly more clipped than usual.

“So…this is where he ‘escaped’ to?”

“Fail!” laughed Cavalier.

“Mentella?” asked Psirus

“The one and only.” she replied

“Here to take him away?” smirked Cavalier.

“Whilst Psion does need to be dealt with, unfortunately we have a very serious situation on our hands.”

“What is it?” asked Vitality.

“Elyisaus. He’s here for Sai’edra. He hasn’t followed the correct procedure with a situation like this. With what he is broadcasting, it is safe to assume he is here to take her by force.” Mentella replied.

Joule’s eyes went wide with fright, her energy gauntlets crackled weakly as she fought back a shiver.

“But…I haven’t done anything…” she whispered.

“Shit. Like hell he will, I don’t care who or what he thinks he is. If this Elyisaus dude even sneezes on Sai, he’s finished.” spat Cavalier.

“I assume you have a plan of action?” asked Vitality

“Yes, Psion will lead you to a teleport location in Millennium City. It isn’t too far from where you are now. My intention is to secure Sai’edra in a specialised environment to keep her safe from Elyisaus until we can peacefully resolve this.” Mentella continued.

“Anything else we should know?” asked Cavalier

“Be prepared for a fight, I sincerely hope it doesn’t dissolve into one but I’d rather we were all prepared.”

Cavalier nodded slightly, tightening his grasp on his mask and looked towards Joule who hadn’t said much at all. She stood completely still, trying to process the situation. Her expression betraying no emotion whatsoever, almost as if she’d shut down. Psirus nudged Sarge who holstered his gun, tugging slightly on his gloves;

“Who is Elyisaus?” Psirus whispered

“You’ve met Kr’anri right?” Sarge asked

Psirus thought for a moment and then nodded quickly.

“Well, she had a future vision of a “Golden Man” taking Sai’edra away. Mentella did a little digging and turns out this ‘golden man’ is called Elyisaus. Apparently he’s a member of their ‘High Consul’.” explained Sarge

Psirus nodded slowly before a slight frown overtook his face; powerful waves of emotional distress rapidly rolled out from Joule, despite her impassive expression. The horribly potent mixture of confusion, anxiety and unadulterated fear that she was experiencing made Psirus almost keel over from the second hand emotion.

<Where is the teleport location?> ~ Psion

Mentella briefly projected an image into his mind highlighting the area. A concerned tone entered her mental voice as she turned Psion’s head to look at Joule.

<Sai’edra…is. She’s not managing well at all. Delta will do everything in their power to keep her safe in case anything should happen. I expect you to do the same.> ~ Mentella

<Of course…and…I’m sorry about…before…> ~ Psion

<Yes well…we can discuss that later provided Elyisaus doesn’t attack.> ~ Mentella

Mentella’s presence slowly withdrew from his mind putting him once again in control; the magenta hue in Psion’s eyes faded rapidly, the stern look of disapproval fading with it; he blinked a couple of times. He flexed his fingers as he mumbled something about being ‘back in the command centre’. He looked to Joule who seemed to have completely shut down; he placed a tentative hand on her shoulder;

“Sai’edra. We will not allow you to be taken by force. I know this is difficult but we need to move, now.” Psion said quietly.

His voice shook her out of her daze, allowing her to re-engage with the situation; she nodded rapidly, blinking a few times. Psion removed his hand and turned back to the Delta members.

“The teleport location is just northwest of the Champions Super Jet. I’ll meet you there.” Psion stated.

“Alright, don’t waste any time in getting there, I’m sure even you know how urgent this situation is.” Cavalier frowned.

Psion’s eyes narrowed as an acidic retort formed in mouth. He noticed Joule looking at him intently and he glanced at her. She shook her head slightly, he frowned before realising what she was telling him. Psion swallowed down the retort and glared at Cavalier before steeling his jaw and turning away, a rush of telekinetic energy enveloped his form as he lifted himself into the air. He nodded towards Psirus;

“Is there access to the roof upstairs? And if so, may I use it?”

“Yes, you may.” Psirus nodded.

“Thank you. As I said, I’ll meet you there.” He stated looking directly at Cavalier.

Psion disappeared upstairs in a flare of cyan energy. Moments later he was nothing but a cyan streak in the sky above Millennium City swiftly followed by Sarge, Vitality, Joule and Psirus. Cavalier’s hover bike quickly caught up with them as he dipped slightly lower and flew alongside Joule; she looked to her right and saw Cavalier’s smile, she reciprocated and he gave her a thumbs up sign before re-focusing on the flight ahead.

---

One hundred and eighty four thousand kilometres away from the surface of the moon, a small transparent disc flew into position, its focus on the distant structure on the surface of the moon. A green shield matrix formed around it as it began to flash constantly.

---

Mentella stood, poised a few feet away from the teleport station, awaiting the signal from Psion when Techna’s voice cut through the silence. Her face materialised on a nearby holoprojector, she seemed highly distressed.

“We...have a problem.” she breathed

“What is it?”

“Elyisaus…he’s…absorbing the temporal prison at an alarming rate. I suspected we couldn’t stop him but…we’ve got three minutes until he completely destroys the prison and my drones. We CANNOT let him get to Sai’edra.” Techna urged.

“I know. Delta and Psion are bringing her here as we speak. How quickly can you summon ‘Bobby’?” Mentella asked.

Techna shook her head;

“I’m having difficulty locking onto him for some reason, like I’m being blocked. I’m working through it though. If I drop everything and focus on that, I should have a solution within the next minute and a half.”

Mentella opened her mouth to reply as the teleport station activated. Mentella pushed her index and middle finger into the holoprojection of her sister’s face and swiped it to the right as she leant forwards at the station. A touch screen pad detached itself from the station and flew up to meet her. She pushed her finger into the centre button and the teleportation arrival pad lit up, Mentella turned back to the touch screen and pressed the teleport into action. Mentella moved to set the touch screen pad back down as an error message popped up. She frowned as she pressed the teleport into action again, another error message flashing on the screen.

She swiped the holoprojection of her younger sister back into view; Techna’s eyes had completely clouded over as a soft white light glowed; slight crackles of white energy sparking in the corner of her eyes.

“J’asira, there’s a teleportation disruption, something is blocking the signal. If we don’t get Sai’edra here soon, this situation won’t be contained appropriately. I need you to locate the source of the interference and destroy it.” Mentella explained.

Techna’s eyes returned to normal as she nodded quickly and the holoprojection vanished as Techna left. A small niggling pressure exerted itself on Mentella’s mental shields, realising it was Psion she allowed the communication.

<We are all here. We have been for fifteen seconds now. What is the delay?> ~ Psion.

<Techna’s teleportation systems are being tampered with. Most likely this is Elyisaus’ doing. This should be resolved very quickly. I’ll contact you when there’s relevant information to exchange. I expect you’ll do the same.> ~ Mentella.

Psion looked at the tense faces of the Delta members around him and frowned slightly.

---

The intensity of the temporal energy around Elyisaus shone brilliantly; he looked around as only two of the probes remained, he drained the last vestiges of temporal energy from the probes as their shielding flickered and wavered. He rotated both his wrists, pushing both palms together before pulling them apart as a beam of solid time energy ran between his hands, the beam split into harpoon like weapons and he threw them at the two remaining probes. The golden constructs hit the shields, bypassing them completely and piercing the probes; they shone gold briefly before dissolving into nothing. Elyisaus smiled as a small screen appeared on his left gauntlet, he keyed in a code and waited as the screen lifted itself off the gauntlet and enveloped him in aqueous silver light.

Joule stood anxiously with the rest of her team mates and Psion, she tried her best to calm herself but her stomach seemed insistent on resisting. Psion sent a sharp look her way, catching her attention. At the furrowing of her brow, he looked from her to Psirus, who seemed to look as bad as she felt.

<You need to calm down Sai’edra. Your emotions are disturbing the empath over there.> ~ Psion.

<I wonder how calm you’d be if one of The High Consul was after you!> ~ Joule.

Psion rolled his eyes and huffed.

“So…are we just standing here for no reason or did you take us to the wrong location?” asked Cavalier.

Before Psion could reply Joule gasped audibly as the Eli’dahon Diamond around her neck began to glow. The diamond glowed brighter and started to shake; suddenly a golden beam of light shot out of it and into the sky above. The golden light swirled momentarily before it coalesced into a tall humanoid figure arrayed in gold and white robes of varying lengths. On his head was a strange looking head piece with an iridescent golden sheen to it and a pearl white symbol vaguely representing a ‘T’. His skin seemed to glow even more so than his clothes, the sharp angles of his face set in a permanent scowl as the projection faced Joule almost immediately. As soon as Elyisaus had appeared Psirus, Vitality, Cavalier and Sarge surrounded Joule, boxing her in, physically blocking her from seeing Elyisaus.

“Sai’edra Eli’dahon. Mira todu kara’senka, Ithk’bae yara’su morda. Mira todu kara’senka, vosoloma’e dan qzilrae. Mira todu kara’senka, corsaka malu’deth bosori. Ad sers-lt, moreshan duwalyon!” he boomed.

Psion’s eyes widened as Joule attempted to formulate words in her defence.

“M-Meta, Meta! Sorksa kaleth’bria jerr’em? Uda ile machahin, masra de!” Psion shouted.

Elyisaus regarded him for a moment before responding.

“Ramin’ov ska? Jooresh makalr’ae setuntiep’t. Kore tzi’lwa. Sai’edra Eli’dahon sor mak.”

Vitality grabbed onto Psion’s shoulder turning him, forcing Psion to look at him.

“What is going on? What is he saying?” he asked.

“He…he listed the crimes Sai’edra has been accused of committing…he says because she resisted the removal process he will rip her from where she stands. I’ve asked him to refrain and resolve this peacefully. He stated that this was beyond me, I should leave and that she is guilty as charged.” explained Psion.

“Since you won’t tell him I will.” sneered Cavalier.

He looked up to the projection, his red energy blades flashed aggressively as he pointed his right hand at the projection.

“You need to fuck off. Now.” growled Cavalier.

Elyisaus looked down at the formation that had formed around Sai’edra. He smirked and chuckled slightly before the projection stretched its hand out towards them. Sarge drew both his pistols with surprising speed tracking the movements of the hand before it stilled directly pointing towards the air above them.

Techna frantically looked around with her palm raised towards the space surrounding the Moon Base as she looked towards Earth. Her eyes shone a soft white as she searched for the source of the disruption. She activated her jet pack and flew towards the very edge of the atmospheric force field surrounding the base. After scanning the area, Techna almost turned away but an incredibly faint tingle alerted her to a piece of technology in the distance. She screwed her eyes shut as she strained to locate it again; the technology seemed to be just out of her reach. She thought loudly towards her eldest sister hoping she’d hear.

Mentella’s finger hovered over the touch screen; a loud psychic shout from her youngest sister startled her slightly, jostling her train of thought.

<Mentella! I’ve located the technology, it’s the source of the interference but I can barely reach it. I need a boost to bring it in and tear it apart.> ~ Techna.

<Alright, one moment.> ~ Mentella.

Techna’s eyes widened significantly as she felt a tremendous rush of power, her reach greatly extended. She sucked in a deep breath before focusing on the distant technology and quickly latched onto the device, dragging it towards her as it attempted to resist her pull. The device hurtled through space as Techna disrupted its various processes.

“Hello, what do we have here…” she frowned.

A shimmering, now translucent disc drone came into view; it sparked wildly and fired a few particle beams at its attacker. A shield matrix activated a few feet in front of her as the beams were deflected away. Techna’s eyes narrowed as she mentally accessed the drone.

“Well that wasn’t very nice…”

She worked quickly through the drone, disabling its defense systems, before she downloaded the data from the device. Techna’s eyes flashed violently as she splayed her fingers, remotely disassembling the drone, shattering it into its constituent parts.

---

The golden projection of the hand started to shine brilliantly above them, as if building up power. Delta remained rooted to the spot, shielding Joule from the projection's light. Vitality flew up with his back towards the projection, preparing for the attack. Psirus looked towards Joule who seemed to have frozen in place a look of confusion on her face, which quickly transformed to shock as she gasped suddenly as if in tremendous pain.

“Sai’edra?” frowned Psion

She dropped to the floor as bright energy cocooned her body;

“Oh my god!” Psirus exclaimed

The containment suit around her exploded in a flash of heat and light, erasing her physical form, her face seemed to glow as her energy was released, converting her into a full energy being. Psion looked on in shock as the energy from Joule swirled into a funnel and was funneled towards the golden projection, giving it a slightly blue hue as the energy drew closer. A cyan aura enveloped Joule’s retreating energy form, pulling her back from the golden projection of Elyisaus; Cavalier looked back to see Psion firmly rooted to the ground, sheathed in telekinetic energy; his right hand stretched towards Joule.

Elyisaus frowned as Joule’s energy form did not instantly funnel into the containment vessel; he looked to the left to see Psion pulling Joule’s energy form back towards her sheathed in telekinetic energy.

“Ramin’ov.” he spat

A sharp shooting pain in Psion’s head alerted him to the fact that Elyisaus increased his grip on Joule’s energy form as she attempted to pull away from him with the aid of Psion. Psion gasped as he focused more intently as the telekinetic field around Joule strengthened. Elyisaus pulled strongly against Psion’s grip, causing him to bar his teeth. Cavalier looked directly at Psion;

“What the hell is taking so long to teleport us?!” shouted Cavalier

“Elyisaus…is blocking teleportation…” Psion supplied through gritted teeth.

“How long can you keep that up?” asked Sarge

Psion gave an incredibly strained smile as the colour of his eyes intensified.

“The technology he is using is strong…but I’m stronger…I think.”

Psion’s hands curled into fists as he made a dragging motion with his hands, forcefully dragging Joule’s energy form out of Elyisaus’ reach. Elyisaus roared with anger; the golden projection wavered momentarily before freezing and fizzling into nothing, the last vestiges of the golden energy dissipating into the air. Psion sighed deeply, his face showing a mixture of relief and pain as he secured Joule in a solid sphere of telekinetic energy.

“Did you do that?” asked Psirus.

“No, Techna must have located the source of the interference and this projections power.” Psion answered somewhat wearily.

Joule stirred slightly, a muffled groan signalling that she was still conscious. Vitality looked around as the air seemed to charge slightly; the air around them filled with hundreds of miniature blue dots. Psirus whipped around to face Vitality;

“Another attack?” he asked

“No, teleport must finally be working correctly…brace yourselves.” Psion stated.

Psion shifted the solid sphere containing Joule towards him and straightened his back, his head was still pounding. He winced and steeled his jaw, a scowl appearing on his face as Joule’s energy flared uncontrollably; her energy form was pushing against the containment sphere Psion had constructed. Sensing his discomfort Psirus moved towards Psion, reaching out towards him;

“Are you okay? Do you need--?” he asked.

Psion’s scowl intensified and he yanked his arm away from Psirus.

“I will be fine, focus on keeping whatever you’ve recently eaten down. I’d rather not have to deal with the putrid smell of your vomit upon arrival.” Psion snarled

“Geez. Sorry I asked…” Psirus mumbled as he rolled his eyes.

The group gathered together as a beam of white light shot out of the sky; it slammed into the ground, with a slight crackling sound. The air hummed as it swirled around the impact point as the continuous stream of white light shot into the ground; ribbons of yellow and purple light encircling it momentarily before diving back into the thick beam of light. Cavalier and Vitality both entered the beam, shortly followed by Sarge, vanishing into the crackling column. Psirus looked skeptically at the column of light, frowning slightly as it hummed a few feet from him;

"It's not going to teleport you if you don't go into it and it's perfectly safe." offered Psion.

"Yeah well..."

Psion rolled his eyes and stepped into the column of light with Joule still contained within the sphere of energy. Psirus watched as the waves of white light enveloped them, Psion looked up as the light engulfed his form and the telekinetic sphere containing Joule. They disappeared from view as they shot up into the column of light. Vitality's voice came over on the com-link:

"It's fine, just calm yourself and close your eyes." he suggested

Psirus took a deep breath and nodded to himself as he moved towards the beam, reaching out to touch it. A jolt ran through him as he was engulfed in light and transported up into the sky. The column of light retreated back into the sky, leaving a vague impression on the earth below.
