Background/History
An ADHD afflicted anti-hero, Markus Frey, born in 1979, lost his parents at the age of 14, being left to raise his younger sister, Emma, all on his own. They managed to survive on the streets for the next four years, but sooner or later something was going to change things, either for the better or the worst, sadly, it was the latter.
Things changed on a cool June evening in 1997, when the two of them were set upon by thugs demanding that he hand his sister over for their enjoyment. Not having much choice in the matter, Markus did the logical thing, and charged at the thugs with his bare hands, managing to choke one before another stabbed him, but this did not deter the young man, he instead pulled the knife out of his own side and lunged at a second thug, two of the others pulling guns out and shooting him in the leg and arm, only for him to keep at it, slashing left and right with that knife as they put bullets in him, and in a matter of seconds it was all over and he fell to his knees...
Only it wasn’t quite so, the Norse God Odin, had seen all that had transpired, and chose in that moment to bestow upon Markus the berserkergang, sending him into a murderous frenzy, rising to his feet and killing all of the thugs in sight with his bare hands, his wounds meaningless now as they began to heal, his sense of pain dulling and all his others heightening. He then turned his attention back to Emma only to see that she had been shot in the commotion.
He rushed over to see if she was still alive, but it was too late, the bullet had pierced a lung and she had already passed away. Having just lost the last of his family, Markus became stricken with survivor’s guilt, turning to alcohol to bury his sorrows and pass his days away.
Things changed again not one year later, however, when the Goddess Frigga appeared to him in a dream, telling him that he had to go to the United States of America, to a city called Vibora Bay, and that there he would play a role in the prevention of Ragnarok, and after that, after his fate had concluded, would he be reunited with his family.
Markus eventually managed to enter the country through less than legal means, becoming a new blood of the Trey Kings, then just a group of racially mixed thugs from Panama City. He left the gang two years later when he was betrayed by one of the higher ranking members.
Nine years later Markus found himself in Millenium City at just the right time to prove himself during the Qularr invasion, becoming an Ulfhendar, a Chosen of Odin and lycanthrope like being.
He now works as a vigilante in Vibora Bay, being a skilled gunslinger and thief and having picked up some hoodoo spells from the residents of the city, Markus makes up for his social ineptitude and short temper with ferocity and vigor.
