Team Darkstar was initially a vigilante group that fought against The New Militia and Calliope Ariandal in Croft. Created in Sam's universe on Earth Pr, the team expanded and contains members from different dimensions.

Following Mogul's defeat, Darkstar is now an elite specialist group, part of The Inquisition in Corinth, serving under Kyrael Prima.

Overview

As the Inquisition's ultimate elite specialist force, Darkstar is called to take on tasks that require immense power and strength. Composed of Corinth's strongest and smartest fighters, the members of Darkstar are considered the best of the best in the Inquisition.

Members

Team Darkstar is composed of members of differing origins. Each member that joins the team brings their own skills and talents to the table, and due to the small size of the group, the members are considered family.

Leaders

Jonathan "The Black Jason" Crypt

John "Jason" Crypt is one of the founders of Darkstar and is one of the leaders of the team. As a remnant to Decen, the Paladin of War, as well as the first soul-link host to Sentry, Jason is the most battle experienced member of the team. He is currently soul linked to The Underworld through Sentry's Katana, and serves as a field agent and mentor figure to several of Darkstar's members. He is in a relationship with Amana Cross.

Amana Serah "The Fox" Cross

Amana Cross is the other leader of the team. A half infernal and celestial human, Amana possesses incredible power rivalling Jason's. However, Amana prefers using intellect and wit to outsmart her enemies. Calculating and tactful, Amana's greatest asset is her intelligence. The strategist of the group, Amana managed to outsmart Redstone, a contracted and well famed tactician to the New Militia. Amana's warm and welcoming personality has provided Darkstar with an emotional backbone, allowing her to be an effective and natural leader to the team. She is in a relationship with John Crypt.

Deputy Leaders

Darkstar's deputy leaders are in charge of the team should the current leaders be away on mission. The deputy leaders typically make decisions which go through the leaders for approval, however due to the closeness and trustworthiness of the team, approval is typically given right away.

Lawrence "Lazarus" Wright

Lazarus is one of the deputy leaders to Darkstar, a long time friend of Jason, and was initially soul-linked to The Goatman, until giving it up to save Amana Cross. Lazarus focusing on healing and support rune magic, but is also capable of offensive and crowd control spells. Lazarus' rune magic is formidable, and extremely versatile due to his vast background, exploring outside of Croft, and battling various threats. Lazarus's dependable and kind personality inspires other members to act. He is in a relationship with Calliope Ariandal.

Calliope Ariandal

Calliope was free from the Corruption after Maven had drained the Pit of Corruption with the help of Trill, Amana, and Lazarus. Calliope's immense magical power with Seraphim allows her to provide a perfect combination of offence and defence, focusing on strengthening and protecting her allies with powerful celestial constructs. Calliope's magic complements Lazarus' rune magic greatly, making the pair a powerful force to be reckoned with. Calliope's experience with leadership allows her to gain the inspiration of the members of the Inquisition. Calliope, Lazarus, and Jason were long time friends from their time in Team Trinity, and once restored to her original self, she had proven herself to the team to rise to the rank of deputy leader over the time gap.

Field Agents

Ferris "Overseer" Wheeler

Famed for his stone magic and incredible physical build, Ferris is known as the Stone Guardian among the people of Corinth. Focusing on powerful defences, Ferris provides protection to the people in a way similar to a superhero. Ferris was Jason's original strength and conditioning coach, and later becomes Sam's coach as well. Ferris is the most well built out of all the members of Darkstar, and his raw physical strength serving useful in the field. Ferris is also capable of summoning stone golems and seekers, which provide vision support as well.

Reya "Reverb" Park

Specializing in sound and kinetic manipulation, Reya's ranged attacks are useful in fighting at a distance. During her training with Sapphire in Millennium City, Reya develops the ability of flight, which allows her to provide aerial support as well.

Dennis "Joust" Wagner

Specializing in gravity manipulation, Dennis is famed for his extremely powerful force cascades. After his battle against a Corrupted Gravitar, Dennis's powers evolve to the point where he is able to slow down time by manipulating gravity to an extreme level. This allows Dennis to move with perceived super speed, giving him an advantage in the battlefield to rescuing allies.

Trill "Coldarrow" Cohen

Trill was a member of the Mage Academy, and thus possesses the same amount of magic knowledge as Jason. A half avatar and celestial human, Trill possesses powerful spatial and ice magic, which he uses to control and manipulate the battlefield. Focusing on mostly stealth operations, Trill fought alongside Toby frequently during their missions in Croft, the two of them growing close. Trill's incredible marksmanship with his crossbow surpasses even Toby in ability, and his abilities further amplified from The Pact.

Secret Weapons

Darkstar's "Secret Weapons", contain the team's most powerful members. These members are considered wildcards, and are often responsible for turning the tide in combat.

Junon Gareth

Initially unpowered, Junon gained incredible fighting and survival skills during her time with Darkstar, learning to fight opponents who are stronger than her. After deemed worthy by The Achilles Force, Junon becomes a Conduit of Quinta, allowing her to channel the energy. Junon's prodigal and high intellect allows her to master the energy quickly, to the point where she had gained the rank of Tier Zero after a few weeks of training. Specializing in a vast array of abilities, from constructs to telekinesis, to electrokinesis, super speed, strength, and telepathy, Junon's large arsenal is a massive asset to the team.

Toby "Lupine" Rufus

The demigod child of Fenris, The God of Wolves, Toby's wolf transformation puts him among the upper echelon of potential. Battling toe to toe with Therakiel, Tob's powers are considered extremely lethal. When not in his wolf form, Tob's immense reflexes provide him with master-level marksmanship and agility. Wielding a gun and flying boots in combat, Tob specializes in both close range and long range combat.

Samuel "Blackflame" Mason

The reincarnation of Decen, the Paladin of War, Sam is a Conduit of Quinta, a Paladin, and is soul linked to Sentry, allowing him to wield both Darkfire and Regeneration simultaneously. Lethal, and extremely hard to put down, Sam is considered a Tier Zero metahuman, and even among the Tier Zero's, Sam is considered one of the stronger metahumans due to his immense potential.

Base of Operations

Darkstar initially operates from Wheeler's Gym. Under the guise of a regular gym, the hideout is located in a secret basement complex in the building. The hideout is only accessible through the staff room. The entire gym is reinforced and protected by Wheeler's Earth Magic, and security is maintained through Wheeler's Stone Golems and Seekers. The hideout's security is further amplified by Lazarus by placing a modified "Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary" spell within key structural components of the building, masking the hideout from vision-based infernals or operatives.

Members of Darkstar use this hideout as a residence, with multiple rooms for facilities, and a common room for which the members can socialize, sleep, and eat, and is where Wheeler watches over the gym and members during missions. A separate room is reserved for planning and strategy.

The gym was initially infested by soul beasts, hence business was at an all time low, until John cleaned the monsters up, improving operating conditions. Wheeler's gym has since gained more reputation and business.

After the events of Calliope's invasion on the slums, the gym has since been taken over by the New Militia. The hideout changes to Kyrael's Fortress Castle, which contains the same setup as Wheeler's Gym, minus the stealth defences.

Alliances

Darkstar has built up several alliances with other factions and groups, due to their adventures in other dimensions and neighbouring countries.

The Champions: During his time in Millennium City, Lazarus' heroic exploits become noticed by Defender and the Champions. Lazarus has since collaborated with the team in numerous missions. When Lazarus introduces Reya, Sapphire gladly trains her in controlling her powers.

Kyrael Prima of Corinth: Kyrael is an old friend to Decen, and by extension has a soft spot for his remnants. Kyrael and Jason have a strong friendship. Kyrael helps Sam control his Hunter's Eye, and offered to help Jason's team rescue Junon. Kyrael offers the Inquisition's services if Jason requires it.

The Steel Pack: Steel, a dragon slaying operative working under Kyrael in the Inquisition, develops a bond with Blackflame after a sparring session. The two frequently partied together and had drinks. Steel considers Sam a great and powerful ally, and welcomes a collaboration with his team to slay monsters.

Merrow Rivenlight: Merrow, Decen's Guardian, has taken a liking to Jason due to being Decen's Remnant, as well as Sam, being soul linked to Decen's Familiar. Later in the story, Merrow discovers that Sam is a reincarnation of Decen, and supports him in his battle against Calliope Ariandal. Merrow offers her services when the time comes for Jason and Sam to battle Calliope, as well as her master, Mogul.

The Waystation: Mavus befriends Josephine and the demigods of the Waystation, during their final battle against Mogul, the members of the Waystation assist Mavus and the Inquisition for a final stand against the evil Aspect.

The Street Angels: Following Mogul's reveal, Aaron Sterling, the Giantkiller, sacrifices himself to save the others from the Aspect. After being rescued by Sam and Lazarus, Aaron realizes that the survivors have a place in the Inquisition, and decides to offer his services to helping Kyrael Prima, alongside his fellow gang members. Aaron assists Mavus in their final battle against Mogul.

Trivia

1) Ferris Wheeler is the most physically built member of the team. The second is John "Jason" Crypt, and the third being Lawrence Wright.

2) Amana is the most intelligent member of the team, with Junon being the second smartest due to her impressive college grades.

3) Sam is the least intelligent member of the team, with the exception of Clyde, despite receiving college education.

4) Lawrence was a drug user in his years at the Mage Academy, but has since quit. Lawrence still occasionally accepts a smoke from Clyde.

5) Sam is the strongest member of Darkstar, with Jason being the second strongest.

6) Sam suggests the name of their team to be "Darkstar" but Jason calls the suggestion lame, which is a nod to when a younger Jason suggested the name of his mage group to be "Ninja Squad" which Calliope Ariandal calls lame.

7) Sam and Tob are known within the team as "Darkstar's Hooligans" for their pranks and antics together. Jason and Amana are known within the team as "Darkstar's Power Couple" due to their relationship and the fact that they do most of their missions together.
