<div style="text-indent:40px;">It was decided that three young heroes,  'Reverb, Ms. Massive and Mach Speed' would utilize technology developed by the genius of Mechista and Ratchet, to effectively vibrate our of sync with our known universe, phasing out of reality, and then growing to a massive intergalactic scale..which in theory would bring the trio to 'The Bleed', the ocean of nothingness between universes.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Within the Bleed, the three young heroes eventually discovered the Dark-Starlight, violently pulsing it's red energies as it cradled the decayed corpse of the long dead Leah Linkus.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Back on Earth, the heroes , although fighting valiantly, were growing overwhelmed by the seemingly endless attacks of The Rots minions.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">In the battle, Samantha Devias, in an effort to redeem herself, jumped in the way of a deadly attack meant for Starstorm,
 +
</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">suffering a severe and possibly fatal wound.
 +
</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">With their combined power, Starstorm and Starlight seemingly were able to defeat and banish The Rots emissary and his horde back to The Bleed,
 +
</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">while Astron and Protector fought off the shadowy soldiers that had made their way into the Castle.
 +
</div>

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Mechista used her tethering device to bring Mach Speed and Reverb back to our Universe.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Victorious, but suffering heavy losses, the heroes assembled within the hall of the massively damaged Castle.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Here, Reverb would make the ultimate sacrifice.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">Standing before the dying Samantha Devias, Reverb forgave her twins misdeeds and instructed her to use her energy

</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">Starlight and The Protector stood vigilantly, holding both girls hands as the two touched, causing Reverb to fade into a swirling spiral of golden light.
 +
</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">Samantha then absorbed the Starlight energy that was Reverb into herself, and a massive wave of blinding golden light, there stood Samantha Devias, in her Reverb costume, finally whole again.
 +
</div>
 +
<div style="text-indent:40px;">She begged Starlight and Starstorms forgiveness, which they gave without hesitation. The Protector, unsure of who was standing before him, was set at ease when the reconstituted Sam

<div style="text-indent:40px;">With the Black-Star safely in their possession and The Rot having been fended off for now, The Vanguardians regrouped and began to discuss a means of rescuing the lost Ms. Massive.

Biography

Built Farm Strong

Born to a pair of loving parents in the year 1980 and growing up on their small farm in the rural fields of Bowen, Kentucky,
a young Jackie Knight would often find herself lying in the hayloft at night, gazing up at the night sky, imagining herself soaring through the stars like the many Super powered
Heroes that she, and many other children like her idolized.
Life on the farm offered little to help her achieve her dream. It did however grant her the strength and grit she would one day need.
Soon after turning 14, Jackie was out in the cornfields one evening when a massive shadow darkened a wide circle of the field around her.
She looked up to see a massive, technologically advanced Sky-Ship, black smoke and sparks pouring from a massive, visible breach in it's hull.
Jackie was now, live and in person, witnessing a Superhero Battle.
The Sky-Ship was the mobile headquarters of the nefarious Super Criminal and Mad Scientist, 'Dr. Abner Von Stax', who was using a device he had constructed on board, designed to
tear a hole in the fabric of time and space in an attempt to obtain a fabled and powerful energy source.
The villain had succeeded in creating a dimensional breach, but before he could claim the fruits of his labor, he was thwarted by the famed Superhero, 'The Vanguard',
Who managed to burst his way onto the Sky-Ship and destroy Stax's machine before it could pull his prize through, bringing the madman to justice in the process.
Unbeknownst to neither Hero or Villain, something indeed 'did' come through the dimensional breach.
Jackie looked on in comfort and awe as a warm, golden, shifting glow streamed down the night sky as though it were liquid light.
The light danced towards her, almost as though it were studying her. In this moment Jackie knew that this swirling energy was a living entity.
The entity, sensing in the child her kindness, her purity, her honesty and her bravery, chose to bestow itself upon her.
Bathing the terrified young girl in a vibrant gold flash of cosmic energies, the entity bonded itself with young Jackie,
changing her in ways that she could never have even imagined.

Teen Spirit

In 1994, Jackie was enrolled at Bowen Consolidated High School.
While never a exceptional in the way of academics, her determination rewarded her with more than acceptable grades.
Making friends came with relative ease given her warm hearted nature and kind personality, However she was beginning to notice radical changes to herself,
and after confiding in her parents about what was happening to her, and that summer night in the corn field, they collectively decided that it would
be in Jackies best interest to hide these changes from her friends, for the risk of the wrong people becoming aware.
Jackies physical frame was beginning to grow and change over the course of the final summer weeks before school began,
her 14 year old body had quickly developed into that of a 20 year old woman of considerable muscle build and a height of nearly 6'2, towering over other teenagers her age.
Within the first few weeks of highschool, Jackie would discover her steadily increasing physical strength, preventing a jacked up field tractor from collapsing on her father
as he worked under it with virtually no physical strain whatsoever. She and her shocked father spent the evening attempting to test the limits of Jackies newfound strength.
One day, a boy Jackie had met in school was accosted by some local bullies who chased him up the Bowen County water tower, where he remained trapped, afraid to climb back down
for fear of falling.
Stumbling across the scene, Jackie swiftly made her way up the ladder and talked the boy into climbing onto her back for rescue.
The old ladder rungs could handle the combined weight of both teens and one snapped in her hands,
Instead of falling to what could have been their untimely end, Jackie opened her squinted eyes to see that she was floating in the air, the teenage boy still on her back, passed out from terror.
Upon safely placing the unconscious teen on the grass below, Jackie fled the scene to avoid any potential witnesses to her incredible abilities.
Despite her parents objections, Jackie decided to cobble together a costume to hide her identity, as she fully intended to continue to try to help the people
of her small hometown with her new abilities anyway she could. Heroism had become her passion.
Eventually befriending and confiding in the teenage boy she saved, 'Mitchell Bran' became one of her closest friends, her high school prom date, and the only individual outside of her parents
to know about Jackies incredible powers.

Those City Lights

In the year 1999, Jackie, having graduated from highschool, is convinced by her father to move to the newly built Millennium City to study agriculture at
the brand new Millennium City University.
Being a 19 year old girl from a small, southern town, Jackie was quickly overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of the massive city.
Seeing the ugly face of organized street crime and the struggles that many people had to face just by living here, Jackie began leading a double life
Studying at MCU during the daylight hours, and attempting to clean up the streets of Millennium City by night,
earning herself the moniker of 'Brightstar' from the media due to eye-witnesses snapping photographs of her in her Star themed costume, soaked in her golden aura.
Her tenure at MCU was a short one, as she was quickly expelled from the University after hospitalizing a pair of young men on campus who were attempting to force themselves on
a classmate of hers.
Faced with the decision to go back home to the farm, or to stay and attempt to help clean the streets of MC, Jackies mind was made up when she found herself fighting back to back with the 'Golden Avenger' himself against a swarm of VIPER forces that had attacked UNTIL headquarters.
Inspired by the prolific heroes praise of her performance, Jackie decided to remain in Millennium City, and be a full fledged SuperHero.

Put your hair up, and Square Up

By the year 2001, Jackie had updated her uniform to one of a more professional quality, also adpoting the new moniker of 'Starstorm'.

"Cosmic Cowgirl"
To make a living she took a job as a waitress at Darrens Pizza in Westside, working during the day and continuing to defend the innocents of the neighborhood in the evenings.
Over the course of the next few years, Jackie would find herself working alongside other costumed heroes, such as Kinetic, The Guardian, Iron Clad, Sapphire, Dr.Ka, Astron, Nighthawk,
and Defender, to name a few.
Many of her missions brought her to various locations around and off of the planet, and she was beginning to earn a positive reputation in the hero community.

In the year 2005, Starstorm first crossed paths with the sinister CEO of corporate tech-firm 'Deviascorp', and super criminal mastermind, 'Max Devias'
Although a madman, the billionaires intellect was difficult to match, and after numerous encounters, with neither side gaining any true upper-hand,
Max Devias quickly became the first, but not last member of Starstorms Rogues Gallery.
During a mission to prevent the evil Devias from unleashing a biological weapon upon the planet from the safety of an orbiting satellite station,
Starstorm found herself fighting alongside a handful of other costumed heroes, one of which was an 'Ora'Vok', a powerful mystic priest from the alien world of 'Valakor'.
It was Ora'Vok, able to see the energies within other beings, who was finally able to tell Jackie/Starstorm the nature and origin of her awesome power.
As it turned out, Jackie was the host of a 'Starlight'. An ancient and powerful living energy that predates time iteself.

Enter Linkus

In a show of cosmic irony, soon after learning about the ancient, sentient 'Starlight' that had granted her her powers, and learning of it's two sibling entities,
Starstorm would come face to face with an individual that darkly mirrored herself.
Dr. Leah Nikol Linkus had been a shrewd, callous astro-physicist, obsessed with discovering the interdimensional ocean between universes of the Multiverse.
The single mindedness of the scientists ambition found her working side by side with the madman, Max Devias.
Together, they succeeded in tearing a portal in the fabric of reality, exposing the planet to the destructive energies and radiations of the void.
From the maelstrom of raging power came the dark counterpart of Jackies Starlight, a black, twisting fluid, glowing a sickening red and pulling all light into itself.
This 'Dark-Starlight', or 'Black-Star', sensing in Linkus her ruthlessness, her ambition and her passion, bonded itself to her, much in the way that Jackie was made host to her own Starlight,
although much more violently.
Much to the dismay of the villainous Max Devias, the two beings merged before his very eyes, and 'Star-Sin' was born.
Driven mad by the sheer power and chaotic nature of the Black-Star, Star-Sin made it her lifes purpose to sow chaos and destruction, as she now viewed herself as a god.
And while Starstorms clashes with the likes of Max Devias, BadLuck, Shatterpoint and Eliza McGraph are notable... It was Dr. Leah Linkus that truly became the nemesis of Starstorm.

Sunbolt

In 2008. Jackie met a 16 year old girl named 'Victoria Rhodes', who was being cornered by a group of Purple Gang members in a Westside alley.
As she flew in to save the young woman, the teen sprang into action herself, thrusting her hands forward, unleashing arcs of glittering, bright orange energy upon her assailants.
The thugs made their escape, and Starstorm approached the teenager. Learning that the girls parents were exploratory astronauts and that her mother was hit with a wave of quantum energy while
on a mission. She was pregnant at the time of the incident and did not survive childbirth.
Victoria, or 'Vicky' as she had preferred, had grown up under the care of her father, and around the age of 14 had discovered she could tap into and manipulate quantum fields.
Jackie, seeing alot of herself in the young woman, and wanting to insure she was on the right path, decided to take her one as her sidekick.
Training her in the ways of heroism under the alias of 'Sunbolt'
The two would go on for several years, fighting evil side by side as a pair. Even taking part in what became known as 'The Multifarian Crisis', helping an alternate universe
Millennium Citys brave Resistance fighters topple a fascist dictatorship.
Together they managed to defeat, arrest and imprison the criminal Max Devias for the first time, with help from Devias' then pregnant wife,
Samantha Livingston-Devias. Formerly the infamous jewel thief, 'Bad-Luck'.
Over the years, as her experience widened and her opinions shaped, Sunbolt began to grow weary of always doing things Starstorms way.
When Jackie made the decision to reveal her identity and register as a Superhero, Vicky was vehemently against the notion. Believing it was akin to 'selling out' and making heroics political.
After much convincing and some arguing, Sunbolt agreed to register as well.
In the year 2010, during an off planet mission to the alien world of Valakor, with a contingent of heroes including the Starstorm and Sunbolt helping the native race
fend off against the doomsday plans of an invading rival species, Starstorm was able to learn more from the locals about the nature of her powers.
Sadly, it was here that Vicky/Sunbolt decided her time as a sidekick would come to an end, and she stayed behind to be the planets defender as the other heroes left for Earth.
Turning away from her longtime partner with a degree of bitterness, Vicky shed the title of Sunbolt, and took up the moniker of 'Quantum'

New Friends, New Enemies

In the year 2012, Jackie tried her hand and becoming an official PRIMUS super-operative, with an incredible mission success rate.
Around this time she would encounter new enemies such as Raptor, Midas, Asphyxia, Firebomb and Fracture as well as the return of Max Devias, recently released from prison.
After a time she would leave the confines of PRIMUS and once again operate on her own, while working alongside old friends like Astron and The Guardian, as
well as new allies such as Ratchet, Rumor, Eli Strander and Black Scorpion.
In the year 2016, Starstorm and Eli Strander, a time traveler , traveled forward to a post-apocalyptic future in which the planet had been laid to waste
by the combined forces of villains Max Devias, Leah Linkus and Asphyxia. Here she learned the key to preventing Devias' hellish rule...His daughter, who
until now had been kept entirely secret.
Eventually Starstorm would break into the present day 'Castle Devias', freeing Devias' captive daughter and earning his eternal hatred.
The time traveler, Strander would then bring the young 'Samantha Devias' backwards in time by 5 years, unknowingly granting her Super Speed by shifting her through.
the timestream.
Samantha would grow up away from her fathers influence during his tenure in prison, and by present day she was a 20 year old woman, and a Superhero in her own right.
Taking the name 'Reverb' and coming to regard Starstorm has her role-model, the young hero joined Jackies ever growing list of allies.

Reverb

Taking the Lead

In 2018, Max Devias would make an attempt at obtaining the third, and arguably most powerful of the three Starlights.
Within the bowels of Castle Devias, he discovered a weak spot in the dimensional barrier, and using a device of his own design, attempted to open a breach to
claim this awesome power.
A contingent of heroes, led by Starstorm, and supported by Devias' own treacherous allies, were able to defeat the mad billionaire before he could achieve his goal.
In the aftermath of the battle, Eliza McGraph..Devias' longtime right-hand and confidant..murdered him in cold blood, taking over his criminal empire for herself.
Soon later, Jackie would encounter a powerful young girl named 'Sarah Walker', who was overwhelmed by her ever increasing power levels.
She decided to take the young girl under her wing as her new sidekick, seeing much of herself in the starry eyed teen.
One day, discovering an archive of projects Devias had been working on, Eliza McGraph formed a cabal of supercriminals in an attempt to succeed where Devias had failed.
Together, McGraph, Aspyxia and Dr. Abner Von Stax rebuilt Devias' machineto tear open a breach in time-space. With Leah Linkus waiting in the wings to strike and claim their prize for herself.
While masterminding the nefarious operation, Eliza McGraph had the villainous Asphyxia toss the young vigilante 'Rumor' from the top of the UNITY tower, killing her instantly.
While Starstorm and her sidekick, the newly named 'Ultra-Gal' dealt with a rampaging Leah Linkus,
Reverb, enraged at the death of her best friend faced the trio of evil masterminds head on, and was thrown into the portal created by the fully activated Dimensional-Gateway device.
With two of their friends now taken from them by this alliance of villains, Starstorm and Ultra-Gal sprang into action, defeating the four maniacs,
with Ultra-Girl herself forcing the mad Leah Linkus into the vortex, ending her reign of terror forever.
In the chaos, Asphyxia escapes, and as Starstorm apprehended the remaining villains, Ultra-Gal uses
her ability to absorb energy to prevent the cosmic powers from within the portal from reaching our universe by taking the blinding light into herself.
Little was anyone aware, Sarah Walker had just become host to the third 'Starlight'

The Starlight Saga

In the wake of losing two close friends in a short period of time, Jackie decided it was time her and her allies began acting more as a unit. Taking the liberty of registering themselves with
PRIMUS as a sanctioned Super-Team, taking the name 'The Vanguardians'. The core roster consisting of Starstorm, Ratchet, Ulta-Girl and Sparky.
Sarah Walker/Ultra-Gal, who had been supercharged by her hosting of the third sentient energy, took on the appropriate namesake, 'Starlight', now arguably far more powerful than her mentor.
Disillusioned by recent events and distraught by the teams recent losses, Starlight used her new powers to effectively pull her friend Reverb back from the void of The Bleed,
restoring her in our reality.
Little did the young heroine know, what she had actually done was use her incredible powers to create a perfect replica of Reverb, as she saw her, with the actual Samantha Devias
spending a relative 7 years in the chaotic maelstrom, wondering why her friends were not coming to her rescue.
Eventually the reality displaced young woman was approached in her exile, by the dark entity 'The Rot'. An ancient and powerful deity of corruption and evil.
Seeking to infect the entire Multiverse, but unable to do so with the existence of the Starlight trifecta, a bargain was struck.
The young woman would be returned to her reality, her body revitalized and granted new energy draining powers.
In exchange, Samantha Devias would collect the Starlight energies from her friends Jackie and Sarah, and deliver them to The Rot.
Upon her return, Devias, seeing her 'replacement' with her friends, and feeling abandoned, became bitter and spiteful towards her former allies.
She filed a complaint against the imposter with PRIMUS, proving herself to be the genuine article and reclaiming her families home and fortune,
forcing Reverb to move to Jackies families farm, with a new legal name 'Bethany Knight'. Jackies parents adopted the young woman.
As time went on and The Vanguardians ranks grew with the additions of Nightblade, The Wraith, Mechista and Ms. Massive,
the truth behind Samanthas return would be revealed when Starlight confronted her former best friend, and learned of the coming threat of 'The Rot'
Eventually after several hostile encounters with her would-be friends, Samantha relented in her given task, and agreed to allow The Vanguardians to help her
, promising to protect her from her new master.
It was revealed that with the two benevolent Starlights occupying our reality, The Rot was was able to begin to act against the Multiverse,
its inlfuence able to effect reality without the full presence of the Starlights to defend against it.
The Rot would then make it's move towards obtaining the late Dr. Linkus' 'Dark-Starlight', still floating through the void after it's last encounter with our heroes.
After a lengthy meeting of The Vanguardians governing members, it was decided that the heroes must enter The Bleed and retrieve the Dark-Starlight, before it
could be consumed by the cancerous, monstrous entity.
With the return of Victoria Rhodes, Jackies first sidekick, now using the name 'Quantum', the team was able to learn even more about there new enemy, The Rot having been a well known legend across the galaxy and news of its activity reaching Quantums chosen homeworld of Valakor.
The Prodigal Daughter Returns..
It was decided that three young heroes, 'Reverb, Ms.
The machine developed would need to be used in the precise location where the Dark-Starlight had initially been lost, or they would be searching forever.... this location was 'Castle Devias'
Here, the three young heroes would locate the malevolent Starlight and safely return it home before it could be corrupted by The Rot.
The plan went of without complication, and the trio found themselves on Ratchets 'Phase Shifter' platform one moment, and the next they were floating in an endless
nexus of swirling energies. Colorful storms raged in every direction and whole universes presented themselves as morphing, mercurial globs of light and chrome.
Here, the three young heroes would locate the malevolent Starlight and safely return it home before it could be corrupted by The Rot.
By some unknown means, The Rot had become aware of the heroes intentions, and sent powerful agents to destroy the heroes method of return in our Universe.
A massive battle took place, with a horde of shadowy creatures assaulting Castle Devias, attempting to destroy Mechistas tethering device and disabling the trios
and removing any chance of their return home.
Starstorm, Astron, The Protector, Nightblade and The Wraith fought back wave after wave of ghostly demonoids, as Ratchet, Sparky and Mechista operated the devices interfaces,
desperately trying to maintain a lock on their space-displaced comrades.
Within the Bleed, the three young heroes eventually discovered the Dark-Starlight, violently pulsing it's red energies as it cradled the decayed corpse of the long dead Leah Linkus.
Using the containment device developed by the combined efforts of Mechista and Quantum, Ms. Massive approached the entity.
Either lashing out to protect itself, or hungry for a new host, The 'Black-Star' launched itself towards the giantess, colliding with her and sending her whirling through the void,
lost in the storms of nothingness, to the horror of her two comrades.
As Mach Speed swam aimlessly through the maelstrom, desperately trying to find his lost love,
Reverb retrieved the containment device, and successfully captured the entity.
Back on Earth, the heroes , although fighting valiantly, were growing overwhelmed by the seemingly endless attacks of The Rots minions.
In the battle, Samantha Devias, in an effort to redeem herself, jumped in the way of a deadly attack meant for Starstorm,
suffering a severe and possibly fatal wound.
With their combined power, Starstorm and Starlight seemingly were able to defeat and banish The Rots emissary and his horde back to The Bleed,
while Astron and Protector fought off the shadowy soldiers that had made their way into the Castle.
Mechista used her tethering device to bring Mach Speed and Reverb back to our Universe.
Victorious, but suffering heavy losses, the heroes assembled within the hall of the massively damaged Castle.
Here, Reverb would make the ultimate sacrifice.
Standing before the dying Samantha Devias, Reverb forgave her twins misdeeds and instructed her to use her energy
absorbing powers to take the energy that made up Reverbs existence into herself.
Starlight and The Protector stood vigilantly, holding both girls hands as the two touched, causing Reverb to fade into a swirling spiral of golden light.
Samantha then absorbed the Starlight energy that was Reverb into herself, and a massive wave of blinding golden light, there stood Samantha Devias, in her Reverb costume, finally whole again.
She begged Starlight and Starstorms forgiveness, which they gave without hesitation. The Protector, unsure of who was standing before him, was set at ease when the reconstituted Sam
jumped into his arms and kissed him.
With the Black-Star safely in their possession and The Rot having been fended off for now, The Vanguardians regrouped and began to discuss a means of rescuing the lost Ms. Massive.
Starstorm and Quantum, having fought closely during the battle, seemingly buried the hatchet and came to view each other with respect once again.
The Wraith, having impressed Jackie during the ordeal, was promoted to the main team, along with fellow Westside overseer Nightblade.
Reverb, decided not to return to the life of her fathers fortune, and instead chose to move into an apartment with Quantum in downtown Millennium City.
The Vanguardians were granted a massive grant by PRIMUS for use in future universe-saving operations, as begrudgingly delivered by Agent Dan Folsom.
The team stood proud, but the ordeal took a toll on Starlight, who decided to take a trip through the stars to find answers to burning questions she had, and possibly to find herself.
....Meanwhile, somewhere within the Bleed, The Rot plots its next move.

The Starlights
===

Before existence itself, there were three, primordial, sential energies. Celestial, godlike manifestations of the great forces that form all things in reality. These are known as 'The Starlights' and are possibly among the first sentient beings in all of existence. The Starlights embody 'Creation', 'Destruction' and 'Balance'... each unfathomably powerful, yet incredibly different in nature. What became known as the 'Bright-Star', the Starlight of Balance, was the manifestation of heroism itself. Existing to protect that which is created by one sister, from the destruction of the other. Existing between the universal pockets of the Multiverse, in the void of nothingness known as 'The Bleed', the Starlights lied dormant until awoken by an evil as ancient as themselves. 'The Rot', was a relation of 'The Old' Ones', and was revered as a dark god amongst cosmic beings. Seeking to annihilate all of reality, The Rot would need to rid itself of The Starlights, however, aware of the potential threat to the Multiverse, The Starlights entered Space-Time separately, making The Rot unable to corrupt them completely. Upon reaching their destination, 'Prime Earth', the Starlights sought out suitable hosts to continue their agendas on a smaller scale, whilst preparing for the eventual attack of The Rot.

Belt Clip Dial - Device created by ally 'Ratchet' is capable of forming a variety of programmable uniforms over ones body, via the use of Nano-Technology and 'Unstable-Molecules'. The device is capable of holding multiple uniforms in its memory banks at one time.

The Vanguardians

In recent times, Starstorm has found the Super team known as 'The Vanguardians'. A PRIMUS sponsored, yet independently operating group of heroes, organized and led by Starstorm herself.

While the roster of the heroic unit is ever growing, the core team consists of the heroes 'Starstorm, Reverb, Sparky, Starlight, Ratchet, Quantum, Ms. Massive, Mechista, Astron, The Protector and Nightblade.
