Summary

Born in Helheim, Selenis turned out to be a little less brooding than the usual denizens of the realm. Despite the usual associated death and gloom to the realm, she considers herself to having done a fairly decent job at being a more or less normal person. While many tales speak of Nidhogg and his brood as evil, malevolent and as heralds of chaos, it isn't all so black and white. In her own existence, Selenis takes her life as nothing more than another weight in the scales of balance. Where there is life, there is death, and where there is good, there is evil. Her duty was not to judge what is right and what is wrong, but to make sure that no extremes linger in such balances. As such, she became one of the many agents responsible for overseeing affairs in the mortal realm, outside of Helheim and in the Human Earth, to make sure that those belonging to the Nine Realms are not bringing imbalance upon the mortal world. And, admittedly, because she rather likes the world, and thinks that Helheim is something of a big bore, especially for a Wyrm like her.

Appearance

The most known appearance for Selenis is that of a Humanoid-Draconic girl, appearing to be in her young adulthood and generally regarded as very attractive, despite some of her species' traits. The most notable thing about such is the presence of her quad-horns, two pointed forward with two more standing as outwards scale plates around her head. Scales can also be seen covering parts of her skin, blending into her otherwise human-like flesh, and with a last aspect coming in the form of a long, reptilian tail. All these traits share a cream-like color, a light yellow that is almost white at times. Her hair is light pink, though one might wonder if it was originally that color or if it was her own personal choice to have it in such an unusual color. Her eyes are large, of a very unnatural blended tone of blues and greens, with what seems to be a faint luminosity to them, particularly noticeable in the dark.

Her form is very curvy, and she seems to have a particular preference towards garments that display her generous curves, though one might have to personally ask whether she does it without knowing or what. She is often seen wearing an elaborate flower ornament upon her upper, left horn, with small jewels and bells dangling from it. Very rare are the occasions where she is seen without it. Her voice is sweet, youthful and energetic, and her mannerisms often give the impression of either a very well-mannered girl, or a very lively one. It is very rare for her to display aggressive body language or mannerisms, other than when she is visibly angered or in combat.

History

Selenis was born to unknown Wyrm parents in Helheim. All she knows is that there is some distant relation between her bloodline and that of Nidhogg. This particular aspect, as well as seeing the creature in person and often living the tales, led her to have a distant, secretive appreciation towards the Wyrm. While often seen solely as a creature of malice and chaos, Selenis understands that the Wyrm's duty goes beyond that, and that his actions are not of inherent evil. Such things led her to follow a mindset that eventually culminated into her taking the role of an "Agent of Balance". For that purpose, such agents are reponsible for making sure that there is no imbalance going on between the Nine Realms and the Human world, especially in recent times, where the worship for Norse Mythos is all but forgotten in comparison to the old times.

Having worked for a time under such tasks, Selenis has often been present in the mortal world, sometimes under disguises, sometimes not, but in the more recent years she hasn't bothered much with it, as very often it is simple for others to mistake her for another metahuman among the crowds. In truth however? All the years seeing the brooding, gloomy sights of Helheim, and the constant infighting and bickering among the Gods and beings of other realms, it all bored her terribly. She much more preferred the sights of the Human world. On their own, Humans seemed interesting, especially in the things that they created. Their foods, their entertainment, even the way they fought, and for a time she even allowed herself to learn from them. It was in one such odd adventure that she started fancying herself a "Dragon Knight", a literal Dragon who is a Knight. Wielding a sword much too large for herself, and clearly not knowing that armor is a protection, rather than a fashion statement, she took upon not only doing her job as a bringer of balance, but also as someone who tries to make Earth a better place, both for its sake as well for perhaps a hope that the misconceptions about her kind may sometimes change, or that the stories of her people won't be forgotten.

More will be added as it comes.

Powers and Abilities

Usual powers typically associated with Dragons and Wyrms, including fire-breathing, flight, and magical capabilities. Unique to herself however, Selenis is fairly talented in Nature and Life-related magic. The latter can be used both for defensive, healing and offensive purposes. Possesses the ability to speak to the dead, spirits, ghosts, and freely cross between the world of the living and the dead, although it is unknown if she is capable of enacting resurrections. Has an actual Dragon form, but it's unknown if she can use it under the Ban, or is just not dumb enough to turn into a massive Dragon in the Human world. While her powers are severely limited while on Earth, they are still enough to put her on par with a high-tier Metahuman. Her mystical skills generally work under the spheres of Nature, Life and Death, all closely related. They generally manifest as different types of flames, and which one is being used at the time can typically be discerned by their aura and their colors. Nature spells are generally identified by a presence of grass-green flames, while Life instead has a white-golden hue. Death has a black-reddish aura of sorts instead. Selenis has access to a considerable number of offensive, defensive and utility-related spells, and generally a good grasp of when and where to use them. Generally, she refrains from excessive displays unless necessary, and often opts for a more discreet, practical approach.

Even as a Humanoid, Selenis bears considerable strength. Having formidable physical skills, the area where she usually lacks is in ranged combat, as she generally has to rely on certain spells to attack distant targets without being excessively destructive. Strength, stamina, endurance and speed are traits she has to spare. Beyond her racial abilities, Selenis trained her humanoid form to fight like a Knight of sorts. With her own skin being tough enough to act as armor, she mostly wears her revealing armors as a fashion statement of sorts. Other than that, she wields a sword as tall as herself, often wielding it with speed, precision and strength that might not be expected from someone of her stature or build. A deadly swordswoman on her own, she often combines spellcasting with her fighting skills in order to complement her fighting abilities. In a sense, it allows her to remain an efficient opponent while on Earth without having to rely on the powers that are typically locked down by the influence of the Ban. Overall, Selenis can be a formidable foe in most circumstances, but can be particularly deadly when able to overcome the limitations of the Ban, typically meaning being somewhere other than Earth, or employing a means to temporarily increase her own powers. Those however are very rare and it may take a very extreme situation for her to consider that.
