Rigel

Rigel is a Tier 2 Metahuman. He is a temporary member of the Ghetto Ghosts, a small vigilante group who fights criminal metahumans under the radar.

Rigel's origins and background are unknown, with his intentions also unknown to other members of the group. However, Rigel's contributions to the team have been great, making him one of the team's most valued members in their fight for justice.

Appearance

Rigel is described by his teammates as somewhat fit, standing at 5 foot 7 inches. However, he is frequently seen wearing baggy t-shirts, and sweatpants which conceal his musculature.

Rigel possesses long black hair that reaches his chin. His face is described to be somewhat youthful, but his eyes gaunt looking as if he had "never slept for days." When utilizing his powers, Rigel's face becomes dimmer, and at higher intensity, his entire face becomes a flaming skull.

Personality

Rigel's personality is chaotic. Whenever he is not on mission, or is not in combat, Rigel is very quiet, rarely speaking, and always thinking and anticipating. Sometimes in combat, his emotionless demeanour makes his allies and enemies uncomfortable. His fighting style is heavily dependent on his powers, and Rigel's confidence with his abilities lead him to being reckless.

When Rigel becomes pressured, his other side emerges, and Rigel begins to act more maniacal, smiling creepily at his opponents.

Powers

Starfire: Rigel is capable of extremely destructive pyrokinesis/genesis. His flames are comparable to that of a star, ranging in the tens of thousands of Kelvin, thus giving him his codename.

The pure destructiveness of Rigel's flames put him in the upper echelon of meta human ability, and he has frequently been compared to the most powerful pyrokinetic user in history: Samuel "Blackflame" Mason. However, as stated by Rift and other meta humans in the team, Rigel and Blackflame have many differences.

• Blackflame utilizes Darkfire which is supernatural in affinity, while Rigel utilizes Starfire which is natural
• Rigel's flames are statistically hotter than Blackflame's, comparable to that of his namesake star, Rigel. At tens of thousands of Kelvin, Rigel's flames were hot enough to completely melt an entire enemy base in one burst.
• Unlike Blackflame, who utilizes Darkfire mostly for melee combat and explosive propulsion, Rigel prefers long ranged combat, and is very dependent on his flames to simply overpower his enemies with firepower. In terms of combat skill alone, Blackflame greatly outclasses Rigel.
• Rigel's transformation, Skullface only boosts the heat of his flames, and transforms his body into a nigh indestructible entity. However, does not boost any other abilities, like Blackflame's Darkfire Forms.

Moves

• Star Lancer: Rigel fires bolts of Starfire from the palms of his hands in a controlled and cylindrical fashion, melting everything in the way of his blasts. Rigel typically uses the power for precision attacks, although his poor aim usually results in damage.
• Starburst: Rigel fires Starfire from both of his hands, unleashing a cyan torrent of flames, melting everything in his way in a wide cone.
• Starburst Galactica: A variation of Starbust, where Rigel unleashes more power to make the area of effect much larger.
• Ball o' Rigel: A powerful fireball, which Rigel charges and accumulates his Starfire. The longer Rigel charges his fireball, the more powerful it becomes. Rigel can either launch the fireball directly, leading to massive damage, or have it explode.
• Ball o' Rigel - Meteor Shower: Rigel explodes his fireball, causing a huge scattershot of Starfire on his enemies.
• Skullface Transformation: If Rigel powers up his Starfire and has it consistently coursing through his body, he is capable of essentially infusing his cells with the said Starfire, giving him a transformation. In this form, Rigel's skin disappears, and his skull and jaw float within a torrent of cyan Starfire. Akin to the name of this transformation, the form is essentially invulnerable to all forms of physical attacks, and to some extent, fire attacks, as his essence is essentially pure flame. Rigel's flames become exponentially hotter, melting his surroundings in a large radius. The destructiveness of this form was so great that Rigel has been ordered to save it unless absolutely necessary.
