Origin
Leo Silvers was born in 1993 on July,21st in Sterling City, California. Beyond that he knew little of his parents. He was raised in an orphanage, and what little he had he earned through the sweat of his brow, and the strength of his back. He was the lazy sort, but he had determination and a good heart, which was more than most in his position could say. He didnt cling to bleak outlooks and ideals and instead always strove to learn more and improve himself. While he had no particular gifts or talents, he did have a quick wit and a jovial temperment, which caused him as much trouble as a mischief maker as it did him good. When he turned 15 a letter came in the mail from Ravenswood Academy, telling him they wanted him to come study at their school in Millenium City. Gladly Leo accepted the offer, as anywhere in life was better than there. Boldly moving forward he packed his things and took a plane over to Millenium City, where he studied maths and sciences, as well as his favorite subject, History and Anthropology.
The Qularr Invasion
In 2009 the Qularr invaded Millenium City, the level of wanton destruction was insane, and casualties where in the thousands. During this time Leo was visiting the museum in city center, suddenly the building began quaking and glass shattered. Cracks formed in the roof as it began to cave and rushing out the door as quickly as possible he looked around to see huge alien spaceships and insectoid beings attacking the city. All around buildings where hit with alien fire and began collapsing as the ground quaked. It was here that Leo's life would change forever. Noticing a cute girl with white hair carrying some unknown object and rushing into a nearby building for cover, he looked on in horror as the building began to collapse on top of her, and rushing towards it began pulling apart the rubble looking desperately for signs of her, or anyone at all. After thirty minutes of pulling rubble up from the ruins, his fingers bloody with cuts and swelling with bruises he managed to find her, fortunately still alive and breathing. Pulling her from the wreckage his hands came into contact with some glowing blue goo strewn across her brown t shirt and mixing with his blood it began to change him. His mind surged with electricity as every neuron fired off like livewire, sparking changes in his DNA, unlocking the dormant meta human genome within him as his entire world expanded. He found himself able to think faster. Able to move faster, and quickly pulled them both from the wreckage at inhuman speeds just as a ship crashed atop the ruined structure. Resting her on the ground he collapsed onto his knees panting heavily as he watched the Qularr ships fall from the sky one after the other. Thanking whatever invisible gods that may be for rescuing them from such a close call. The two would meet many times over the years, though often on different sides of the law.
Out of Costume
Out of costume, Leo spends most of his time working his day job as a teacher of cultural anthropology and history at Ravenswood Academy, outside of this he spends much of his time frequenting bars and clubs and spending time with valued friends. Though Ravenseeker is a globally renowned hero, Leo himself is not, and he prefers to keep it that way for the sake of privacy. While he doesn't shy away from showboating, or using his abilities to flirt with others, very few people know of his true identity. This knowledge is limited to close friends and his superiors and colleagues at Ravenswood Academy.
Enemies
General Fleeb Murph- A former Canadian Military General, Murph was a master of military intelligence and research. He headed many projects in the frigid north before being dishonorably discharged and imprisoned for inhumane experimentation, treason of state, blackmail, and extortion. He was quickly released from prison during a breakout initiated by ARGENT, using their technologies for himself he finished his final project codenamed....Ice-storm. Molding his body with the suit he had created for himself, he defected to join Viper, where he encountered the hero Ravenseeker during a technology "liberation" attempt.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Super Speed- One of the faster, if not fastest men or man alive. Ravenseeker is capable of accelerating to speeds of up to Mach 33 from a dead stop in under a second and maintaining those speeds with ease. Though he could run faster easily enough, reaching Mach 34 would mean reaching escape velocity for earths gravitational pull, resulting in being jettisoned into outer space. With his new technology Ravenseeker is now capable of reach speeds of 54,476.1MPH or Mach 71 in relation tot he speed of sound. At these speeds he is capable of running around the equator of the earth, at its longest point, in around 7 minutes.
Super Strength- Ravenseeker is capable of lifting and carrying roughly 5-8 tons with ease.
Super Durability- Ravenseeker's body is capable of withstanding immense amounts of impact force. This is to compensate for the speeds that he travels at as his body not only needs to withstand the strain of such movements but also the force resulting from potential collisions at those speeds.
Super Reflexes/Intelligence- Ravenseekers brain processes sensory information much faster than the normal human, drastically increasing his cognitive awareness and capabilities. As a result he is capable of thinking much faster than the average human and reacting quickly to any potential threats. This also allows him to perceive time in a slowed state, further increasing his ability to react.
Auto Regeneration- Ravenseekers body works at an escalated pace. Regenerating and replacing damaged cells and tissue within minutes and muscle and ligaments within hours. He is even capable of regenerating entire limbs, though this would take an extended period of time to manage. This regenerative process occurs actively at all times.
Super Stamina- Ravenseeker never tires, and doesn't feel the need for sleep.
Disarming- Ravenseeker is capable of moving so fast that he can successfully disarm entire groups of enemies before they even realize it has happened.
Lightning Crow Martial Art- A form of unarmed martial arts developed by Leo over his career as a hero. This form of martial arts plays heavily upon his speedster abilities, and is characterized of lightning quick jabs and strikes as well as many crippling muay thai knee and elbow strikes. Many of these attacks are struck at supersonic speeds and some from great distances in the blink of an eye. As such this form of martial arts is very difficult to anticipate and defend against to anyone that doesn't have super speed, heightened reflexes, or increased auditory perceptions.
Speed Reading- Leo is capable of reading and processing the information contained within entire novels and textbooks within minutes, allowing him to absorb immense amounts of information in as short a time as possible.
The Speed Zone- An innate ability acquired by all speedsters along with their superspeed. When moving at highly accelerated speeds the perception of time changes. This gift allows speedsters to perceive time in a drastically slowed state, giving them ample time to react while moving at supersonic and hypersonic speeds.
Weaknesses
Psychic Powers- Though Ravenseeker's sped up mind would be difficult to read and interpret much less control without some degree of disorientation, a powerful psionic would be easily capable of limiting his motor or cognitive functions and even possibly putting him under mind control or hypnosis for a time.
Movement Impairment- Whether through means of freezing, levitating, etc. Any means of immobilizing Ravenseeker can relatively compromise his ability to fight.
Force Powers- Though he is mostly resistant to kinetic and impact forces, the blast is still capable of knocking him off his feet and leaving him exposed to further attacks.
Invisibility- Can't fight what you can't see. Doesn't mean you can't outrun it though. While Ravenseekers mind is perfectly adept at processing sensory information at an enhanced level, those who have powers of invisibility are easily capable of tactically outmaneuvering him.
Morality- Ravenseekers moral compass guides him throughout life, however the stricter the compass. The more limited its range of movement becomes.
Immunity to most drugs and chemicals- Due to his heightened metabolism, Ravenseeker is immune to most harmful toxins and poisons,as well as the effects of many drugs and medicines. While in some ways this is a positive characteristic, it can be severely dangerous in the rare circumstance that he where to fall sick. It also makes him incapable of becoming drunk.
Compassion- His compassion for others can often lead him to become brash and irrational in the face of danger, and prevent him from considering the potential risks or greater outcome of his actions.
Electrostatic Overload- Due to the prototype boots not being a complete success, as he runs Ravenseeker generates an immense amount of electrostatic energy about his boots, which if not dispersed in some form or other by the time he reaches 500,00 miles in distance run. The potential overload caused would be catastrophic.
Impatience- Due to the high paced lifestyle of a speedster, Raven is often impatient both in his personal life and heroic life, this often causes problems with relationships and can potentially throw him and others into harms way during heroic endeavors.
Overconfidence- Moving faster than everyone else tends to have an affect on ones perception of their own capabilities. This manifests in overconfidence, a speedsters innate view that because they operate at such speeds that they are nigh untouchable, they are also invincible and unbeatable as a result. however far from the truth it may be.
Claustrophobia- Due to the high paced, always on the move speedster way of life, it doesn't come as a shock that most if not all speedsters suffer from a fear of confinement. An inability to use their gift can be as crippling mentally as it is physically.
Hypersonic Whine- Due to the speeds at which he travels and his molecules vibrate at, near the upper limits of his speedster abilities he generates a high frequency sonic whine. Though imperceptible to most senses, extremely heightened auditory abilities are capable of detecting this noise.
Gear
Kinetic Dampening Gloves - Composed of a Titanium-Nickel alloy on the first layers, with impact resistant gel and foam on the following layers, these gloves are modified with super magnets that allow Ravenseeker to alternate how much kinetic energy the gloves prevent from being transferred to other targets, allowing him to alter the force with which he hits his targets, regardless of how fast hes moving.
Speedster Suit- Ravenseekers suit is comprised of Friction resistant materials lined with aerodynamic contours and plated lightly with Destrium. The composition of the suit allows Ravenseeker to attain insane speeds without negatively impacting the environment around him.
Destrium Speedster Armor- A suit of light speedster power armor, forged from the purest Destrium, stolen from Dr Destroyers robot factories, the suit itself has aerodynamic contours in it similar to his suit to prevent air drag while sprinting. It is also equipped with state of the art optical sensors and exo-skeletal servos to enhance movement fluidity.
Depressurized Breathing Apparatus- A breathing mask built to allow the wearer to breath inside a vacuum. Without it moving at speeds exceeding mach 1.4 would result in Ravenseekers lungs collapsing.
Multi Dimensional Boots- A pair of Destrium boots fused with a 4th dimensional element pulled from spacetime,creating an anomaly that allows Ravenseeker to exceed speeds of mach 33 without ever reaching escape velocity as he will never part from any surface he is running on. With his new technology Ravenseeker is now capable of reach speeds of 54,476.1MPH or Mach 71 in relation tot he speed of sound. At these speeds he is capable of running around the equator of the earth, at its longest point, in around 7 minutes.
Jet Disk Boot Attachments- Small jet attachments equip-able to any pair of boots that Leo wears, these allow him to fly at supersonic speeds when needed.
