Mentella’s eyes snapped open and her telepathic manifestation vanished as she rose from the bed. She carded her fingers through her hair and stood, pausing as she caught the smell of a familiar fragrance. She looked to her right as the door to the en-suite bathroom opened and out stepped Psion, rubbing at his, now spikey hair with a white and gold towel, with another towel slung low around his hips.
 +

 +
He slowly walked out of the doorway and padded across the room, there were beads of water still clinging to his pectorals and arms and some were rolling down his exposed half down to the sharp cut of his hips. Psion finished using the towel on his hair and began dabbing at the excess moisture on his face as he stopped in the middle of the room. He looked around, glancing at Mentella who much to his delight, seemed to be looking his way. With a mischievous grin, he flexed slightly, the muscles in his back rippling as he searched for something in a nearby draw.
 +

 +
“If you’re looking at me like that, I can only imagine what you’re thinking.” he grinned, turning around.
 +

 +
Mentella blinked, as if caught unawares, hesitating for a moment before resuming her usual stern expression.
 +

 +
“Ed’ran. What are you doing in my room?” she asked.
 +

 +
Psion continued to rummage around in the draws, taking out random articles of clothing before replacing them and moving on.
 +

 +
“I think you mean our room, I’ve moved in remember? As per the discussion, don’t you remember the discussion a few weeks ago?” he replied.
 +

 +
Mentella raised an eyebrow as Psion turned around; he was doing his best innocent expression. Mentella crossed her arms as she rested against the nearest engraved wooden bedpost.
 +

 +
“I do not recall having such a conversation. ‘A few weeks ago’ we were in London.” she frowned.
 +

 +
“Yes, you insisted upon going to the meeting alone and I stayed behind to deal with other matters. That was when I had that discussion.” he smiled.
 +

 +
Mentella’s frown deepened as her level of irritation continued to climb. Seemingly oblivious, Psion turned back around and went over to her wardrobe, opening it to reveal the assortment of clothing within the wardrobe. Mentella’s expression changed slightly as she realized that Psion had moved in a select portion of his clothing.
 +

 +
“Since I was at a meeting alone and you didn’t contact me, remind me how exactly we had this conversation?”
 +

 +
Psion grinned as he found a pastel blue top, he reached up and grabbed onto it and turned back around, his other hand holding onto the towel around his hips.
 +

 +
“Oh I had this discussion whilst in the hotel room…you just happened to not be there whilst I was speaking.” he grinned.
 +

 +
Mentella rolled her eyes, pushed herself up from leaning against the bedpost, and shook her head. Psion was slightly taken aback at the lack of argument but mentally high fived himself, counting this as a victory. He fumbled with the shirt for a few moments before bending slightly as he put it on. As his head disappeared inside the material, Mentella gave Psion an appraising look, privately noting that sharing a room with Psion would not be a complete hardship.
 +

 +
She walked over to her en-suite bathroom and looked in and for a brief moment, she seriously considered gravely injuring Psion: the bathroom was a disaster zone and to make things worse she saw that her Gucci Bamboo shower gel seemed to have been completely used up. Her fingers curled tightly around the doorframe and she whipped back around to see Psion who was in the middle of putting on a pair of jeans. Mentella glanced at the large vase by her chest of draws and narrowed her eyes.
 +

 +
Psion looked up just in time to see a large vase enveloped in a magenta telekinetic aura hurtling through the air towards him, his telekinetic abilities reflexively kicked in and he caught it, just a few inches from his face. His blue eyes were blown wide in shock as he peered around the vase to see meet Mentella’s fierce glare. Before he could utter a single word or sound, she spoke.
 +

 +
“If you are going to live in this room with me, I have a few rules, the first being, do not EVER leave MY bathroom in such a disgusting state.” she ground out.
 +

 +
“It-.” started Psion; he paused to lower the still floating vase.
 +

 +
“It isn’t that bad…no need to over react.” sighed Psion.
 +

 +
“It looks as if the Winds of Tezerion Six have blown through it!” she frowned.
 +

 +
Psion scoffed and opened his mouth to reply but promptly shut it when he saw Mentella’s expression.
 +

 +
“Clean. The. Bathroom.” she commanded.
 +

 +
“Fine…sorry.” he mumbled.
 +

 +
As Psion moved past her, the lighting in the room flickered and Mentella’s expression changed to concern as she looked around, realizing what the likely source of the disruption was, it didn’t take her long to brush against Sai’edra’s mind and her eyes widened as she had a look into her friend’s mind. Psion paused and looked up before frowning at Mentella.
 +

 +
“Sai’edra.” she frowned
 +

 +
Mentella moved past Psion towards the door. Psion followed her and called out as she ran off.
 +

 +
“I can help!” he shouted.
 +

 +
“Bathroom!” Mentella warned.
 +

Several flights of stairs and a few minutes later, Mentella pushed open the door to Sai’edra’s room and saw her shaking intermittently as she sat in the middle of the room, two growing spheres of pure energy hovering around her. Mentella’s concerned expression intensified as she manoeuvred around the spheres and placing a hand on Sai’edra’s forehead and closing her eyes as she entered her mind.

Opening her eyes, Mentella found herself standing on uneven and broken ground; she frowned as she looked across a wide, dangerous looking abyss to see an imposing vortex of shadowy shapes raging around Sai’edra in a continuous and tight motion. The darkness grew thicker with each passing moment and the light from Sai’edra’s mental self, seemed to be dimming as the darkness grew. Mentella frowned as she tuned into the vortex, as she did she heard the harsh whispers and they quickly became clearer; the vortex was a broken patchwork of Sai’edra’s emotionally warped memories. The memories were swirling viciously around Sai’edra, threatening to overtake her. Knowing what could happen if Sai’edra was broken by such memories Mentella knew she had to act fast.

Mentella navigated her way through the pathways in Sai’edra’s mind and accessed her memory system; Sai’edra’s memory system projected itself as a large library. The library, which was currently on fire, was populated by different versions of Sai’edra who seemed to be accessing different memories of the events at once. They had taken ‘books’ off the shelf in different isles and each version of Sai’edra was slowly being consumed by thick veils of darkness emanating from the ‘books’. Mentella pressed her hands into the mindscape, enforcing her own calming influence on the emotionally ravaged library. She manipulated her influence to project itself as swift chilling breeze, which rushed over the entire library, stomping out the fires that ravaged it.
 +

 +
Turning her attention to the library, which had been heavily disorganized by the force of Sai’edra’s own emotions, Mentella began working on Sai’edra’s memory system. She stepped back and rose into the air until she was overlooking the library; she stretched her hands out in front of her as she assumed a commanding stance in the air. She began quickly re-organizing the library beneath her; the veils of darkness consuming the different versions of Sai’edra were forcibly drawn back into their ‘books’ and locked away. Mentella continued re-organizing Sai’edra’s memories until all the memories of the events related to Sai’edra’s kidnapping had been organized into one section and the various versions of Sai’edra were free from the consuming darkness. She then raised the entire section, which contained Sai’edra’s memories of the event up into the air, suspending it there as she sealed it off from the rest of the library. She placed several psychic encryptions on the ethereal, floating section and multiple psychic barriers around it, to ensure it could not be accessed by anyone.

Once satisfied with the process, Mentella locked the library in place and lowered herself to the ground. As soon as Mentella lowered herself to the ground, she was confronted by the various different versions of Sai’edra; they lined up and stood in front of her as she landed. She beckoned each one, touching their foreheads; as she touched each one they faded, transforming into astral dust and were re-absorbed by Sai’edra’s mindscape. Mentella transported herself back to where Sai’edra was surrounded by the vortex of darkness and watched as her psychic surgery took effect.
 +

 +
The thick, swirling darkness around Sai’edra began to part as the memories no longer were accessible and simply vanished, the terrain shifted and suddenly the distance between Mentella and Sai’edra decreased dramatically as Sai’edra looked up, her eyes blown wide in distressed confusion. Mentella bent down slightly as she extended a hand towards Sai’edra. Sai’edra’s gaze shifted to the proffered hand and she hesitated, looking around the now quiet mindscape and then back to Mentella. Sai’edra reached out to accept it the proffered hand and closed her eyes as Mentella guided her back to full consciousness.

Sai’edra shook her head as she interrupted Mentella, waving her hand.

Sai’edra sat up and sighed again, she looked over to Mentella who now sat at the desk where her statement was still open.

“There are still things we need answers to, and hopefully the High Consul will be able to fill in the gaps in our knowledge. It’s why I have been rushing around since we got the news, setting things up, I am eager to find out what this is all about as well.” replied Mentella.
 +

Sai’edra nodded and stood up; she walked over and picked up her mother’s necklace, The Eli’dahon Diamond. She rubbed her thumb over the surface of the jewel and frowned. Mentella paused as she finished reading through Sai’edra’s statement.
 +

 +
“Even without reading your thoughts, I can tell that whatever it is you are thinking about is just going to put you through more stress.” Mentella stated.
 +

“Sorry, it’s just…the mystery of who was able to use my mother’s necklace was never solved, we just traced it back to Xen. I…I can’t help but wonder.” shrugged Sai’edra, as she put on the necklace.

 +
“Don’t allow it to consume your thoughts or make you believe it detracts from the gift your mother gave you. Once the summons is over we will have time to figure out who used The Eli’dahon Diamond if that isn’t revealed during the summons.” nodded Mentella.

Sai’edra gave a sad smile but nodded in agreement. Mentella gestured to the holoscreens, which projected Sai’edra’s statement.

“Are you ready to send it off?” asked Mentella

Sai’edra took one last look at the statement from where she stood and then nodded.

“Yeah, send it. I want to get past this horrible business once and for all.”

Mentella nodded and touched the holoscreens, swiping a few times until the statement was sent off and the system shut down. After a reasonable pause, Mentella stood up and spoke to Sai’edra.

Sai’edra winced as J’asira displayed a surprising amount of strength as she grabbed her, pulling her into a warm hug. She returned the embrace and then released her best friend, who apparently did not get the message.
 +

 +
“J’as…hey…J’asira! You can let go now!” she hissed.
 +

 +
J’asira abruptly let go, a wide grin on her face that fell as the gravity of the situation caught up with her again. J’asira pulled back but placed her armoured hands on her best friends’ shoulders.
 +

 +
“I want you to take care of yourself. If you sense any trouble, don’t hesitate.” stated J’asira.
 +

 +
“I promise, I’ll return safely. I take it you’ve added something to our transport to make the ride more…safe?” smirked Sai’edra.
 +

 +
“Of course I have. Among other things, I have installed a new fun security system, so that anything that attempts to board the ship, organic or inorganic and doesn’t have your unique signatures will be disintegrated upon detection. I’ve also been working on Su’s latest designs for a shield generator, she sent them over a few nights ago, apparently that the only way she’s managed to escape Harmon. I feel so sorry for her, but I’ve put those on the ship as well, just a few extras I’ve added on in addition to the usual stuff.” explained J’asira.
 +

 +
“The…usual stuff?” Sai’edra frowned.
 +

 +
J’asira simply grinned widely in response. Sai’edra shook her head and smiled, waving as she walked off towards the hangar. J’asira looked around for her eldest sister and eventually found her as she ended a call with Sarah. She looked up to see J’asira walking over to her and smiled at her. J’asira sat down next to and looked at Mentella; J’asira’s expression was serious and somewhat fragile, reminding Mentella of Su.
 +

 +
“I won’t go through the trauma of thinking I’ve lost you. I can’t do that again, you need to promise me you’ll be okay this time. I know what I’m about to ask is a big ask, but you simply have to do this. If you sense the smallest bit of danger, eliminate it. Destroy it. Go all out I-” started J’asira
 +

 +
Mentella raised a hand, effectively halting her youngest sister.
 +

 +
“You are worrying too much. After what happened last time I understand your concern but I’m aware that there are other parties involved now, so I will not hold back if I’m in danger. That is a promise.” stated Mentella.
 +

 +
J’asira narrowed her eyes as she stared at Mentella’s expression but her serious expression soon broke into a grin as she hugged her eldest sister.
 +

 +
“I want you to take care of yourself whilst I’m gone. Take care of Jane as well; do not allow UNTIL to force you to do anything you aren’t comfortable with. With the recent surfacing of Mechanon and the return of Doctor Destroyer, they are very tense and probably want you to turn her into a serious weapon or something to that effect. Don’t worry, I’ll send communications when I can and if possible check in on Delta from time to time.” Mentella explained as she returned the embrace.
 +

 +
J’asira pulled back and nodded, the two sisters smiled at each other and J’asira walked her sister to the door. J’asira looked at the hallway security system to see Psion, who was moments away from passing by the door. J’asira nudged Mentella forwards as the doors opened.
 +

 +
“Alright, go on now! Get to the High Consul and come back as soon as possible!” urged J’asira
 +

 +
Mentella amused expression softened as her little sister gave her a wave and the doors closed. Psion turned the corner and stopped as he saw Mentella; he grinned and walked up to her.
 +

 +
“Here’s hoping this goes much more smoothly than last time.” he smirked.
 +

 +
“Oh, my sentiments exactly.” replied Mentella.
 +

 +
Psion and Mentella walked side by side on their way to the hangar. A few minutes later Sai’edra, Mentella and Psion were on the ship and J’asira’s voice came through on the on board system.
 +

 +
“Take care of yourself and don’t forget to check in along the way!” urged J’asira.
 +

 +
“We won’t, we’re ready.” nodded Psion.
 +

 +
J’asira nodded and three holoscreens popped up, they merged into one large holo-projection as the countdown began.

J’asira abruptly let go, a wide grin on her face that fell as the gravity of the situation caught up with her again. J’asira pulled back but placed her armoured hands on her best friends’ shoulders.

“I want you to take care of yourself. If you sense any trouble, don’t hesitate.” stated J’asira.

“I promise, I’ll return safely. I take it you’ve added something to our transport to make the ride more…safe?” smirked Sai’edra.

“The…usual stuff?” Sai’edra frowned.

Mentella raised a hand, effectively halting her youngest sister.

“You are worrying too much. After what happened last time I understand your concern but I’m aware that there are other parties involved now, so I will not hold back if I’m in danger. That is a promise.” stated Mentella.

J’asira narrowed her eyes as she stared at Mentella’s expression but her serious expression soon broke into a grin as she hugged her eldest sister.

J’asira pulled back and nodded, the two sisters smiled at each other and J’asira walked her sister to the door. J’asira looked at the hallway security system to see Psion, who was moments away from passing by the door. J’asira nudged Mentella forwards as the doors opened.

“Alright, go on now! Get to the High Consul and come back as soon as possible!” urged J’asira

Mentella amused expression softened as her little sister gave her a wave and the doors closed. Psion turned the corner and stopped as he saw Mentella; he grinned and walked up to her.

“Here’s hoping this goes much more smoothly than last time.” he smirked.

“Oh, my sentiments exactly.” replied Mentella.

Psion and Mentella walked side by side on their way to the hangar. A few minutes later Sai’edra, Mentella and Psion were on the ship and J’asira’s voice came through on the on board system.

“Take care of yourself and don’t forget to check in along the way!” urged J’asira.

“We won’t, we’re ready.” nodded Psion.

J’asira nodded and three holoscreens popped up, they merged into one large holo-projection as the countdown began.
