Background
Spoiler Warning
The following details are about a player-created storyline, or is information currently unrevealed about a character.
Please do not use this information ICly unless given permission to do so.
Helen hails from an interesting family. Her father being a successful author of fantasy novels (Chronicles of the Sorcerer, The Hidden Guild, The Emerald Talisman) and her mother a particle physicist, she grew up surrounded by sorcerers and science and developed a vested interest in both.
Eventually she'd follow her mothers footsteps and study physics while acting out her fantasies of being a sorceress in short stories and nerdy games.
Her research on the origin and nature of superpowers eventually lead to her discovery of a mysterious particle in the worlds backgroud radiation, something she describes as "being both energy and idea at the same time".
She concluded that this "M-particle" could affect reality in ways that seemed more intuitive then scientifically explainable.
Her inner fangirl triggered by what she could only describe as magic, she developed a device to harness this effect, consisting of a pair of bracers with the ability to concentrate and convert M-particles and a special computer she calls her "Grimoire", running Arcana, a newly created programming environment.
Appearance
Her costume consists of a purple fantasy style outfit with distinct techy add-ons in her bracers and a visor acting as the Grimoires visual output device.
Out of costume she is a rather unremarkable person. Mousy, nerdy, wearing huge glasses and wide clothes she doesn't seem to have any interest in making herself attractive. Only her family and closest friends (and the attendants of her senior High School prom) know her in a dress, with makeup, contacts and her hair done. And even less people are aware that the cover art of her fathers novel "Apprentice of the White Coven" was drawn off a picture of 17 year old Helen wearing a fantasy cosplay.
Abilities
Powers
Hecate can, given time and concentration, can shape complex magic using her bracers. They also flood the area around her with M-particles, making the use of powers and magic easier for others nearby.
She "programmed" a few spells into the Grimoire for quick casting, from an iconic missile barrage to a number of supportive options.
Skills
She is skilled in particle physics and other areas of physics and posesses a quick mind.
On the other side, she is also creative, and has written a number of short stories in her youth.
