Aaron Henry Sterling is a 25 year old metahuman who was a classmate to Mavus Shaw and Junon Gareth before the Automaton invasion. He is the protagonist of The Diary of Aaron Sterling.

He was initially ranked a Tier 6 metahuman under the MTS, and possessed superhuman strength in his arms and legs. During the Automaton Invasion, Sterling was forced to kill his superior Reagan Giants, a conduit to the Power Force and a Tier 3 metahuman. Aaron became the next conduit to the Power Force, and gained the moniker of Giantkiller.

The Power Force exponentially amplified his abilities, giving him incomprehensible strength. A full power haymaker punch generated a devastating shockwave that levelled an entire city. Aaron's leg strength was amplified to the point where he was able to move from one state to another in a single bound. This increase in power pushed his rank up to Tier 1. After training in another dimension, Aaron learned to channel the Power Force more efficiently in his body by wielding the greatsword Rigor.

By wielding Rigor, Aaron's arm strength was increased even further to the level of Tier Zero, putting him in the upper echelon of metahuman abilities among the likes of Mavus Shaw, possibly even surpassing him. Rigor's swings generated enough wind pressure to destroy multiple buildings and skyscrapers, and a full power strike from Rigor was strong enough to rip the very fabric of reality.

Aaron is a member of the Street Angels gang. A former criminal group of metahumans who had become the protectors of the survivors of the Automaton invasion. Alongside his gang members, Aaron served The New Militia in hopes of immigrating the people to New Croft, however has since served the Inquisition, after discovering Mogul's plans.

Background

Sterling joined the government metahuman justice corps under the initial codename Superarms and acted as a part time rescue operative. His primary job was to lift and destroy heavy barricades for first responders. Sterling worked under government official Reagan Giants, an extremely powerful Tier 3 metahuman who's cells acted as a conduit to the Power Force, which supplied him with incredible energy which he used for offence and defence.

Sterling was also a classmate to Mavus and Junon, studying engineering as an undergraduate. He was friends with Trevor Daniels, and occasionally chatted with Mavus through online video. Unlike most of the boys in his class, Aaron was not infatuated with Junon, finding her personality and intelligence "annoying".

During the events of the Automaton invasion, Sterling was given government clearance due to being a part time employee. However, as the Automatons began to decimate everything, the government soon found themselves overwhelmed by the alien machines. Giants was converted into a cybernetic slave, and with the help of his coworkers, Sterling managed to defeat his superior, dealing a fatal blow to the head.

Reagan's body began to release as much energy from the Power Force as possible, causing the energy to enter Aaron, converting his cells into conduits to the Power Force. This significantly amplified Aaron's super strength. Due to his inherent evo being largely muscle based, Aaron was able to draw out even more power than Reagan ever did, thus turning him into a Tier 1 Metahuman among the likes of Sharon Lipset and other higher up government agents.

Aaron worked alongside the survivors of the Automaton invasion to fight back the Automatons, joining the Street Angels gang. The people gave him the new codename Giantkiller, due to being the one to land the killing blow on a converted Reagan Giants. In one fateful fight against the Automaton Core, Aaron summoned as much power from the Power Force as possible and unleashed a powerful strike that broke the fabric of spacetime, sending him hurtling through the wormhole into another dimension. The fates of his allies were unknown, but are presumed dead.

Aaron returned to his dimension having better mastered his powers, wielding the legendary greatsword Rigor the Stoic, where he was considered a Tier 0 Metahuman. Aaron fought alongside his Street Angel brethren to destroy the remains of the Automatons, and later serve Calliope Ariandal in exchange for the salvation of the people.

Powers

Unquantifiable Arm and Leg Strength: Aaron was born with the metahuman evo of superhuman strength in his arms and legs. During his time serving the government, Aaron was strong enough to lift a refrigerator with one arm, and leap great distances in a single bound, making him an effective rescue operative.

After killing Reagan Giants, Aaron's cells became the conduits to the Power Force, where he gains access to seemingly infinite energy reserves. This power exponentially increasing Aaron's arm and leg strength by unfathomable levels.

A single punch by Aaron was capable of generating enough wind pressure to level an entire city, and Aaron was able to leap from one State to another in a single bound.

After wielding the greatsword Rigor, Aaron was able to draw even more of the Power Force by channeling the energy through both the weapon and his muscles, significantly increasing his arm strength to the point where he was able to tear the very fabric of reality with a full power swing. However, Aaron must spend a lot of time charging and preparing his attacks at this magnitude. Normal swings of Rigor released enough wind pressure to destroy multiple skyscrapers.

Power Force Conduit: Aaron obtains this evo from slaying Reagan Giants. His cells become conduits to the Power Force, a dimension containing infinite amounts of energy. Aaron uses this energy to amplify the force of his attacks, giving him unfathomable arm and leg strength. As Aaron gained more proficiency with this evo, his strength reached the point where he was classified as a Tier Zero metahuman.

Skills

Formidable Swordsman: Aaron possesses an aptitude with wielding his broadsword, Rigor, after using the weapon to battle the Automatons. However, his technique is rough, as he relies on heavy strikes and overwhelming strength to defeat his opponents. As a result, his swings often lack precision.

Formidable Fistfighter: Aaron learns to fist fight from Nigel and the Street Angels gang. As an act of initiation, he had to join a team of Street Angels in fighting their rivalling gang in a fist fight to determine who had custody over a stretch of land.

Physique: Although not very lean, Aaron possesses notable muscle mass from continuous use of his arm and legs. Aaron's muscles are not very well developed, but his strength without using his evo is considered slightly above average.

Constitution and Stamina: Aaron is very resistant to damage, and can take hits very well from his time with the Street Angels. His stamina allows him to keep fighting and his forte also lies in a battle of attrition.

Equipment

Rigor the Stoic: Rigor the Stoic, or Rigor for short, is a greatsword that was wielded by Nika, The Paladin of Strength and Resolve. After she had passed, the greatsword was buried in the depths of an unknown cave. Due to Rigor's overwhelming weight, only Aaron is able to wield the sword, as he possessed the necessary arm strength. Rigor comes with a magical strap that is capable of withstanding the weight of the sword, which Aaron wears to strap the sword when not in use.

Cloth Mask: Aaron wears a bandana mask, a gift from Nigel of the Street Angels, a local band of gangsters in Aaron's neighbourhood. Aaron gains their respect after aiding in their gang war against a rivalling gang as a rite of initiation. Nigel takes Aaron in and gives him the mask to represent the gang. The mask is capable of blocking out aerosols and air-borne attacks.
