Friend is a misterious crime fighter and investigator who takes care of many "minor" cases that other high profile heroes don't bother or simplily don't have time to solve. He also investigates many villains and heroes, the latter only if he believes they have some kind of importance or are not as good as they claim to be. His true indetity is really a mistery since nobody has ever seen his face or heard of his true name. He operates in a hidden cave somewhere in the outskirts of Millennium City, and often developes a plan or strategy if he has to face super human foes. This habit has earn him many victories against not only the typical super human villains, but against certain corrupt heroes as well. If he can't make a plan before fighting a super human, he will resort to his various backup "strategies" (many of which come from improvising)

Background/History

Spoiler Warning
The following details are about a player-created storyline, or is information currently unrevealed about a character.
Please do not use this information ICly unless given permission to do so.

A tale of (in)Justice

Friend's origins are still unknown, however, there have been certain speculations from a few heroes about Friend being Agent Justice. Agent Justice used to be a super heroe who operated in Los Angeles along side other fellow heroes. He relied on various tools and gadgets due to his lack of super powers. Agent Justice was very friendly with the comunity and with his fellow heroes, sharing many of his investigations with them. He kept his indetity secret for quite sometime in the heroe comunity, only revealing small bits like being canadian or his father being a firefighter. After sometime, he began investigating certain local heroes after spotting some of them apparently making bussiness with the local gangs. Unfortunatly, this information got leaked into the ears of the heroes he was investigating, due to them being told by another heroe that Agent Justice had shared details of the case with. He got treatened a few times by these super "heroes" after they discovered he was investigating them, but Agent Justice didn't care and proceed with the case conviced that he was doing the right thing. All this culminated in an inccident that took place in an old warehouse, where a group of gangsters had taken a small family of workers and were planning on torture them due to the workers refusing in helping the gangsters with transporting certain ilegal shipment. Agent Justice arrived just before the mobsters started torturing the poor family. He had a small confrontation with the gangsters that resulted in them setting the place on fire when trying to kill the hero, who had to let them escape to try and save the workers. Before he could help them get to safety, the 3 heroes Agent Justice was investigating came out of nowhere and ambushed him, beating him up and letting him to burn in the fire without paying attention to the trapped family. The police and firefighters arrived soon after that, with some of them spotting the 3 heroes leaving the warehouse. After an extensive search they found the poor workers burned under some beams, but they cound't find any traces of Agent Justice. The hero had completly dissapeared after the incident without a trace, with some newspapers implying that he had actually died in the fire, though this was latter refuted due to his body never being found.

This...is only the begining

2 years after Agent Justice's dissapearence, something happened. The heroine leader of the group of which the 3 corrupt heroes were part of was mailed with enough information to put those 3 behind bars, though she ultimatly didn't do anything due to don't wanting to damage the group's reputation. A couple of weeks later, the 3 "heroes" were ambushed and beat up by a misterious man, ending with them getting tied to a light post. When the police arrived, they found that there was enough evidence next to the heroes to put them in jail for a long time. They found many information, pictures and even a small map with the location of the guns and drugs exchanges that were performed by certain gangs, having the 3 heroes protecting the transactions. It was also discovered (thanks to more information found in the scene) that the 3 men were also recurrent stalkers that targeted certain kind of women. After an extensive interrogation, the 3 heroes confesed to have beat up Agent Justice a couple of years ago during the warehouse inccident. They also gave some confusing statements about a man in a trenchcoat wearing a gas mask moments after they got ambushed, when somebody shoot a gas arrow from afar. The indentity of the assailant would remain unknown until Friend's posterior appearences taking down various crime sindicates and even some super powered enemies. If Friend is Agent Justice is still just mere speculation, taking into consideration that their working styles are completly different.

The man before the invasion

"And so there I was, fighting against the worst this world has to offer...by escorting an old lady back to her home. She felt the need to reward my "heroic" actions after helping her cross the street and getting to her house safe, so she let me choose a couple of items from her garage sale for free. I took the two steel masks and walked away. I felt like all a boy scout back there...though the cookies were a nice detail" - Friend talking to the Blast Avenger about where he got his mask.

The courageous Blast Avenger

The next years after taking down the 3 infamous heroes, Friend got busy tracking down and eliminating various crime organizations. One of this cases putted him against a five heroes group when he discovered they were employing the local mafia services to rob certain buildings and making their ocupants leave, giving the heroes the chance to buy and incorporate the buildings into their company, as they were all high profile business men and women. This ultimatly lead to a confrontation between Friend and the 5 heroes plus the local gun toting vigilante known as "Snap Shoot" that they managed to convice by saying that Friend was a serial killer. The battle ended with all of the heroes defeated and heavily injured, though Friend was shoot in the head by the vigilante and felt to the city's river. He survived thanks to his steel mask and quickly learned about the hospital in which the heroes had been dropped. He disiguised himself as a doctor and managed to kidnap all 5 of them, finally letting them tied up in the old department buildings that they were trying to buy, letting enough evidence to put them behind bars. After being done with the heroes, he tracked down the vigilante and ambushed him, beating him up and also dropping him into the police station. The following years he dedicated himself completly to investigate and take down the criminal organizations in the city, having some conflicts from time to time with the local supergroup. During this time he also recopilated information about groups like VIPER, ARGENT and DEMON, and helped solve a few internal conflicts (all of this done behind the scenes or secretly, if you prefer) that the local super group experimented. There were also small rumors about the leader of the group (a young heroine going by the name of "Blast Avenger") and Friend of being lovers, though this rumors were always rejected, specially after she gave up being a heroe to help her family in need and moved to another country. When he felt he was done, Friend moved to Millennium City and spent some years building his new base of operations, in a cave near the outskirts of the city. He worked anonymously solving various cases until the Qularr invasion began. During that time, he made his first "offical" appearence by killing many Qularrs which were attacking the city, being spotted by the heroes in the process. After the invasion ended, he returned to his base to keep working on his cases, as well as investigating certain events that had been unfolding recently.

Appearence

Friend stands 6,7 feet tall, strong build. He wears a white steel mask with no expression. Any facial feature is unknown, since he has never been seen without his mask. He usually wears a pair of black pants, grey shoes, black leather gloves and a brown shirt with a grey trenchcoat. Sometimes he may wear a tie or have his gloves switched for fingerless ones. He may also wear a variant of his mask that is mounthless. This is mainly when he is being accompained by others, as many people find the white mask with no expression rather creepy. While using the mounthless version, It can be noted that he has some brown beard in his chin. This suggests that his hair (if he has any) may also be brown too. He switches his shirts from time to time, wearing a white shirt sometimes and a black one other times. He may also wear a dark blue version of his trenchcoat, though this is rare.

Personality

"Make yourself home, but, PLEASE!.Don't.Touch.The...case files...May I offer you some apple juice, or maybe coffe?" - Friend talking to a couple of heroes in his base.

Friend is a bit eccentric and paranoid. This comes from the fact that most of what he does is investigate. He investigastes this and investigates that, believing that if he has enough information about his enemies he can make better plans to defeat them. He can also be catalogued as being a bit crazy, and so far trusts no one with his true indetity. He tends to dislike any super heroe who believes him/her to be an absolute law of justice and often hates on the ones that twist the laws to their benefict or abuse the normal people. He does not see himself as a hero nor can be considered a villain, he is just a man doing his job. He is not good or evil but stands between them. He can be serious when he needs to, and can also lie or hide certain information if he sees it fit. Sometimes he may discover things that make him enter in a "conspiracy nutjob" state, though this will only increase his determination and, most of the time, will get him crazier. He will also kill if it is necesary.

Powers and abilities

"I fought a group of 5 super dudes once. The last one had super strenght. Had to hit him with an iron ball full of explosives to knock him out. What do I get when I exit the construction machine? A shoot in the head. Apparently, I forgot about the gun toting psycho vigilante that wanted to kill me a few moments ago" - Friend talking about the fight against the heroes and the vigilante Snap Shoot.

Friend does not have any super power or super natural ability. All that he has is his intelligence and many tools and weapons. He has certain knowledge in bio technolgy due to his mother and knows various rescue tactis due to his father, and also has certain boxing and taekwondo skills. Despite this, provably his biggest advantage is that nodoby seems to know who he is or where he comes from. Nobody has ever seen the man behind the mask, and nobody knows his true name either. This can be really helpfull at times when he needs to infiltrate certain places. He can also impersonate certain heroes and villains with some practice and the right wardrobe, and has learned to change and tweak his voice to be more effective. He will use wigs, makeup, glasses and even fake beards to disguise himself if he needs to. He is also an exellent detective, and posses enough knowledge in firearms and archery to employ guns and bows efficiently. He prefers to know as much as he can about his enemies before facing them, so he can make a plan or two to take them down. He has developed various emergency strategies in case he can't make a plan before fighting. Most of this strategies involve a lot of improvisation and are meant for almost every situation. He will also notice if someone tries to read his mind (has certain experience with telepaths), and will attempt a tactic that he has developed to hide his thoughts.

Weaknesses

Despite his skill and intelligence, he is just a normal human being. Well, a very well prepared human being. In the end, he can bleed and get sick as any other human, and he can die too.

Weapons and equipment

"Lets be honest. Sometimes you just can't go punching everyone in the face and pretend to win. Sometimes, no matter how much you annoy your enemy by telling him to surrender you will not make him change his opinion. And sometimes, you just can't pretend to put a brain eating zombie in jail. For each and every single one of those times, I have a plan and perhaps a tool that will more than do the job" - Friend talking to an inexperienced group of heroes during the Blood Moon.

Friend employs various tools and weapons depending on the situation and the kind of enemy he is facing.

- Pistols: He often carries a couple of handguns as a simple security messuare. This can vary from Desert Eagles to Magnums, and he can also load them with different types of bullets depending on the situation.

A Winchester 1894 Lever action rifle
A Desert Eagle Handgun

-Rifles/Shotguns: When the situation gets really, really bad, Friend can grab and use an assault rifle as any other law enforcement agent. He can also employ a shotgun, though this is a weapon he uses more comonly than the rifle due to its versatily and capacity of shooting many rubber bullets at once, helping him incapacitate criminals easier. A weapon that he enjoys using and that he also prefers using when having to fight face to face in situations like invasions or when the blood moon rises is a lever action rifle, Winchester 1894 model. The versatily and power of the rifle coupled with a few silver bullets makes it an exellent choice when shooting zombie heads off.

-Special grenades/Wire launcher: A couple of usefull tools that have saved him from trouble more than once. Friend has used some of his knowledge in bio technology to create a special type of grenade that, when detonating, liberates a web like mesh which traps the target. He has modified the chemicals for the grenade with the pass of time and has added a couple of substances which liberate a smell that works just like anesthetic gas, but weaker. To use with the grenades he also has a special wire launcher that he stole from an ARGENT facility. The launcher shoots a projectile that binds and crush the target, incapacitating it. The ammo for this weapon can be reinforced with questionite or kendrium to hurt and even cut the target when it becomes trapped.

- Bow: Though Friend is not an expert in the art of archery, having taking various classes and later adapting them to his job have payed off. He has decent accuracy when shooting with a bow and can also fire a few shoots in a row. Being his least prefered tool, he uses it when taking the stealthy approach or when needing to use some of the special gas made arrows he has stored.

- Combat Knuckles/Shurikens: For those moments when the situation demands to get close and personal, Friend has a couple of combat knuckles that are claw shapped which he can use in conjuction with his boxing skills to take down the enemy. He also packs a few shurikens sometimes, mostly when he has to be stealthy. The shurikens are an easier weapon to carry around unlike the bow and some of them are also reinforced with questionite.

A Shuriken‎

- Ammunition/Arrows: Bullets or arrows made of questionite or kendrium are usually the most expensive and hard to get, though he can also use rubber bullets to incapacitate criminals, silver bullets to deal with werewolfs or vampires, or armor piercing/poisoned/fragmentation bullets for everything that takes more than two shoots to fall. Friend can relay on his contacts to get him some of this materials, though it costs him some money and effort seeing as he also has to talk to more of his contacts to make the special bullets/arrows/wires that are made of questionite/kendrium or whatever material is better for the situation.

Friend's Grappling Gun

- Explosive weaponary: Sometimes an incediary grenade or two are needed. Sometimes even a rocket launcher is needed. For those times, Friend has a few things stored in case of a really big emergency.

- Armor: Even though Friend does not wear much armor, he has a few things reserved for when the situation asks for it. He can wear a bulletproof vest and also has a steel chest armor in case he has to take a few more shoots. We can't also forget about his steel mask which covers his face and provides some bullet protection. He has a variation of the same mask only mouthless, which he wears sometimes when accompained in order to don't look so creepy.

- Other stuff: Besides the guns and the gadgets, he also counts with a grappling pistol to fast travel around and a few smoke bombs to dissapear when necesary. Behind his mask there is an experimental device which he got from some of his contacts, this device can prevent telepaths from reading his mind, but can't stop more powerfull psychic attacks. He also has an special jetpack/armor which comes with an small laser rifle, this device can be called using a control remote and was built by one of Friend's contacts, who is a scientist.

Nemesis

"Tastes just like chicken...humm..." - Thomas Crynge aka Candy Bear.

There are certain kind of individuals that hold grudges against Friend for his actions against them. From canibalistic serial killers to psychopath cyborgs, these are the ones that would be most pleased to see Friend's head in a plate and his guts in a grill.

- Candy Bear: Thomas Crynge never really had a trauma in his childhood. He grew up as any other normal kid with a fortune like the one his family had would. Despite this, something else grew inside him. Something evil. He always disliked and even hated the poor children that had to live on the streets. He saw them as a plague that had to be eliminated instead of helped. When he was 48 years old, he spent the last of his family fortune to build himself a base in the deepts of Detroit. However, after the almost completly destruction of the city all of his refuge got lost. He spent the next years homeless, surviving as he could. He had become the very thing he despised, and he hated it. He got to a point where the food ran out, so somethind had to be done. After a lot of thinking, he started kidnapping many of the homeless children and eating them. He got to love the taste so much that he started to make a plan to get himself more and more children. He got into the business of selling candy to the homeless kids using the logo of a bear, and later adopted the name of Candy Bear himself. When many of the families that lived in the streets noticed that the dissapearence of their kids was somehow conected, they recurred to the police. This got worse with the time. Apparently, Candy Bear had kidnapped by accident a kid named Paul who was the son of a wealthy family. Seeing as the police cound't find the one responsable for the kidnappings, Paul's parents started looking for alternate solutions, being very desperated. They finally found (for things of fate or just pure luck) something about a certain individual who investigated this kind of cases. They finally managed to get in contact with Friend after a week, and offered him a lot of money just to get their kid back. Friend rejected the money but promised the parents to return their kid unharmed. Little did he know that after looking at the case and noticing about the lost homeless children, he would find an horrible monster. Friend managed to get Crynge's location after viontly interrogating a couple of bikers who had happen to see the Candy Bear abduct a kid the other day. He stormed Crynge's hideout but cound't find him there. Instead, he found the leftovers of many of the kidnapped children, including the poor Paul. He finally managed to track down Candy Bear, having a confrontation where he broke Crynge's legs and threw him out of a window. Crynge survived and somehow escaped, and now knows that he has one main enemy. He will not rest until he can kill Friend, the man who he knows will deprive him from his delicious feasts.

- F.E.A.R: Functional Autonomous Energized Robot, or F.E.A.R for short, is a cyborg of unknown origin designed to exterminate humans. F.E.A.R was found inside of one of VIPERs many bases during an UNTIL raid, and was apparently abbandoned. When UNTIL tried to recover the cyborg, it activated itself and fleed from the facility. After that, it entablished himself in the cold canadian lands and started capturing hikers, turning them into his own personal robot soldiers. Despite his efforts to remain hidden, he was eventually found by Friend when this was investigating the missing hiker reports. They both had a tough fight which resulted in F.E.A.R running away, though Friend broke his hand in the process. Since that day, Friend has been trying to gather information about the Cyborg in order to take him down once and for all. He also has tried to check the VIPER database for information regarding F.E.A.R original self, but has found nothing so far. F.E.A.R has tried to capture more people to increase the number of his cyborgs, but has been stopped everytime by Friend. F.E.A.R mission now is simple: to kill Friend and turn him into a mindless robot.

- Dr. Divell: Frank Wade used to be just another robber, until he was payed a visit by Psi. It seemed that Wade had certain psychich abilities and as Psi was looking to increase their agent numbers, they just couldn't let him get away. While robbing a jewelery store and trying to get away from a group of heroes, Frank was ambushed by a bunch of Psi agents and got captured just as the heroes managed to cath up with him. They weren't able to stop Psi and Wade was later taken to one of their bases. He knew the heroes had saw him and at first, spected them to rescue him eventually, even if he was a robber. Time passed and Frank was tortured both physically and mentally, until he finally loose hope of being rescued. Eventually, all the torture that Psi applied to him managed to somehow awake and increase his dormant psychich powers. Frank was enraged, and upon discovering this abilities, he used them to escape. He was able to penetrate the minds of all the agents in the facility, and used his power to bring their deepest fear to life. In fact, the grade of manipulation he used managed to kill many of them. After escaping, Wade though in a way of using his new found gift. He wanted revenge on Psi and on the super heroes for never saving him. He started using his powers to torment and kill many super humans, entering in their dreams and using his mental abilities to destroy their minds by projecting nightmares involving the heroes's worst fears. He eventually caught Friend's attention who avoided direct confrontation with Wade at first, due to his immense psychich powers. Friend later developed an improvised tactic to keep Wade from reading his mind and finally found that he was hiding in an abbandoned toy factory, after following his trail. Being unable to read Friend's mind, Wade confronted him attacking him from the shadows, using his mental powers to create the ilussion that he had transformed into a monster. Friend managed to beat him as he was more skilled in hand to hand combat and ultimatly knocked Wade unconscious. Frank is now locked up in Stronghold, in a controled hot-sleep waiting until a day where he can break free and continue his revenge against Psi, against the super heroes and of course against Friend.

- Little Red Hood: Danica Chance used to be one of the first people in telling you how awesome super heroes are. Well, that, until she and her family got caught in the crossfire between a group of amateur heroes and villains. Her parents and her brother died, but she lived, for some reason. She survived and ended up in an orphan, only memory of her family being her brother's red scarf. What was worse of this event is that the heroes that were part responsable for it lied about the villains being the ones who killed Danica's family when, in reality, their fight had caused their demise. When Danica grewth up, she studied psychology and after graduating from the Millennium City University she started working as a psychiatrist. Her skills were so good that, with time, certain super groups started paying her for her servicies taking care of certain heroes. Danica used this chance to have chance to "look" into the heroes minds. As time passed, she discovered that many of them were corrupt or just didn't care at all for the people they were protecting. She putted her best smile and tried to help them all, but inevitably started remembering her past and particulary, the inccident that changed her life. She grew tired of the heroes with time and decided it was the moment to make a choice. She traveled around the world using the money she got from her succesful job in the search for skills that could help her accomplish her cause. She trained in many styles of martial arts and learned how to use normal and advanced weaponary. When she returned to Millennim City, she continued working as a psychiatrist with a new and secret hobby. She started to murder many normal masked heroes and vigilantes under the name Little Red Hood. She eventually found out about Friend and came to him trying to convice him to teach her and help her defeat super humans. Friend refused, as he had been following the trail of dead bodies she had left. They fought but Danica managed to ultimatly get away. She is still at large, working as a psychiatrist during the day and killing heroes during the night. She is a really beautifull woman, this often offers her an advantage when hunting heroes. She has also started to become a potential menace for super human beings.

2 sides of the mirror

Friend's alternate self from the Multifaria reality is called Foe. Foe is a serial killer who targets certain heroes and villains. He is extremely cold and shows no emotion when killing or torturing his targets. He was last sighted when attempting to kill the Shadow Destroyer, but failed miserably. If he is dead or alive is unknown at this point, but some say that he might have escaped from the Destroyer's wrath, though his location is, as said before, unknown. Unlike Friend, Foe wears a gas mask all the time and doesn't have the iconic steel mask. He does not kill normal criminals but will knock them out if they are on his way. He also seems to count with the technology that the cyborg F.E.A.R employs, this provably due to Foe killing the Multifaria F.E.A.R and using his weapons for his advantage.
