• Atlantean Physiology: Being born an Atlantean, Linyssa is biologically adapted to the deep ocean environment. Her body is adapted to withstand crushing pressure, thanks to living deep beneath the surface of the ocean. Her natural temperature is higher than a human's, in order to both counteract the freezing deep ocean water, and to allow her to give her muscles more heat to facilitate her heightened swimming speeds. She also possesses superhuman levels of strength, speed, endurance and durability, all by-products of her body being adapted to survive unprotected in the tremendous pressures of the ocean depths.

• Amphibious Nature: Fathom, as an Atlantean, can breathe both water and air, but must return to the aquatic environment at various intervals; this length can be prolonged by the humidity in the atmosphere. Fathom breathes underwater by extracting oxygen from the water through tiny pores in her skin.

• Enhanced Vision: Her ability to see in the murky depths of the ocean allows her exceptional night vision while on land.

• Enhanced Hearing: Fathom is able to hear sounds from miles away. Allowing her to also hear sounds beneath the ocean waves.

• Superhuman Strength: Fathom's strength is more than a match for most barriers such as wood, metals, brick or concrete walls. Only extremely durable metal reinforced barriers, have any chance of slowing her for any length of time.

• Superhuman Speed: Fathom's regular swim speed is 100 mph when swimming underwater. In times of distress this speed is drastically increased, and she has reach approximately 1,000 knots.

• Superhuman Stamina: Fathom possesses strength and stamina that allows her to swim up to 150 mph for at least a 4 hour period without significant breaks for rest or recuperation.

• Superhuman Durability: Fathom's body is able to withstand impacts that would easily kill a normal human being. This is so that she can withstand the crushing pressure of even the deepest ocean waters.

• Bio-Electric Manipulation: Unlike others of her species Fathom was born with the ability to manipulate the bio-electricity within her body, like that of electric eels. Fathom is capable of channeling her own bio-electrical energy into blasts of electricity capable of incapacitating her opponents. Her body can generate electricity at a rate of about 10,000 volts per minute, up to her maximum storage capacity of 10,000,000 volts. At that point, her body automatically stops producing electricity. As she expends her bio-electric energy, her body automatically begins to recharge the stores. Fathom can mentally control the amount of energy she discharges, anywhere from a single volt to her full 10,000,000 volt charge at once (the latter usually causes her to pass out from exhaustion). At ten to thirty feet, her maximum charge is more than enough to kill someone. She can also create fields of bio-electrical energy capable of sensing objects in even the darkest of places by detecting distortions in these fields, thus giving her a form of electrolocation.

• Aquatic Empathy: Fathom has the ability to communicate with all forms of aquatic life. All aquatic animals will feel a sense of peace and calm in her presence. With practice, Fathom has learned to gain minor control over sea life.

• Water Deprivation: Fathom must return to water after a period of time or she will weaken and eventually will die.

• Dehydration: Due to her natural habitat being underwater, Fathom is weakened when exposed to high temperatures and dry conditions.

• Bio-Electrical Depletion: If Fathom releases every ounce of her stored bio-electricity, her nervous system begins to shutdown which eventually culminates in seizures and unconsciousness until her body creates enough energy to keep her awake.
