Doctor Argon

Biography

Doctor Vlad Argonius Drake was born to a Romanian-American family on August 18th, 1911 in Boston, Massachusetts. At an early age, Vlad was enamored with science fiction stories like that of Jules Verne, as well as creation myths from various civilizations. Vowing to be a scientist, Vlad achieved just that when he eventually graduated from Boston University at the top of his class. Gaining a reputation in the scientific community for various inventions and theories about quantum physics, he was offered a job by the U.S. Government in 1939 to work on a top-secret experiment - 'Project Tower'.

The goal of Project Tower was to create a wormhole to another dimension, the city-realm of the future known simply as Babylon. Unable to pass up such an opportunity, Vlad agreed to spearhead the project, and they slowly worked to create a working portal to Babylon for the next 3 years.

In 1942, during the heat of WWII, the Government pressured Vlad to speed along the project for an actual test, his employers eager to find anything they could use against the Axis Powers. Vlad, while initially unsure about it, agreed and on November 13th, 1942, they began the first test of the wormhole at full power. However, due to a miscalculation from his haste to set up the test, the wormhole became unstable and Vlad was pulled in, trapped in Limbo for hundreds of thousands of millennia. His life was preserved by the strange void, but he nearly went mad from the isolation, beginning to hear voices and hallucinations. Fighting his impending insanity, he took to learning about the inner workings of the multiverse, and kept busy for thousands of years by memorizing each leyline, corridor, and opening in the various timelines and realities, and eventually used this knowledge to escape Limbo.

With his new freedom, he took it upon himself to learn all he could about the multiverse, and spent the next 300 years visiting times and places on Earth, as well as exploring alternating realms throughout the Multiverse. As time went on, his goal shifted from simply satisfying his curiosity for the unknown to rectifying anomalies in spacetime as a hero of sorts. He eventually noticed that the highest amount of time flux was within Millenium City, and has now taken up residence there as an ally to the heroes, adopting the name Doctor Argon.
