"All those years, you protected me as Deacon. Now it is my turn. To protect you as Fury. I will become a hero. Your hero." - An awakened Deacon Chow to an imprisoned Meena Kennedy

Deacon Chow, otherwise known by his alias The Fury, or Fury for short, is the third remnant of Paladin Decen of Acadia. Representing his wrath, Deacon is widely regarded amongst the Remnants as the most violent and ruthless of his kind. His dark and brutal upbringing has shaped who he was, until his death to Prime Aspect Mogul. Wielding the flames of Diablos, Deacon's fires were unequaled, making him one of the more powerful Remnants of his kind. Deacon was able to easily defeat Saul of Ksenia, Mogul's top follower, who had pressured Merrow and Thomas together.

Initially, innocent, kind and loving, Deacon was brought up by gunslinging operative Meena Kennedy, who was regarded as the most brutal and efficient killer in Blackwater as well as the Organization. Meena's violent personality was a direct contrast to Deacon's initial kind personality, and despite Meena's impatience and abuse on the Remnant, the two developed a romantic relationship after Meena realizes that Deacon wishes for the good in her to come out. The two fell in love, and Meena slowly began to soften up from Deacon's influence. Deacon gaining a more braver personality.

At some point in the story, Deacon and Meena were captured by the Halakites, where Meena was subjected to The Transformer Procedure, in an attempt to reawaken her killer instincts and turning her into a mindless slave. Unfortunately, the procedure was not successful, as Meena's love for Deacon broke Malakai's control upon seeing the Remnant brutalized by Kallas in a one on one fight. Deacon, on the verge of death, is recovered by Kallas, and Malakai devises to have Deacon tortured, to bring his Fury side out, in hopes that the Procedure would be successful on him.

The combined effects of a mind controlled Meena, physical torture, and internal conflict causes Deacon to abandon his kind personality, and take on a darker, more brutal, and violent persona, in sense of "accepting his Fury half". This causes Deacon's hair to turn white, his eyes to glow orange, and a drastic personality change. Killing Kallas, and willingly accepting the Transformer Procedure, which has never happened before.

Fury's main objective was to serve Malakai as his "champion" in hopes of keeping Meena safe and living a life without harm. In sense, "protecting her just as she did for him". This mindset was met poorly with the ex-mercenary, who berated Deacon and escaped her confines, leading to Deacon to suffer an emotional breakdown.

After being defeated by Merrow Rivenlight, Remnant 1 and Brickhouse, Deacon was imprisoned for an unknown amount of time until he was released by Merrow to aid in the development of Remnant 5, Thomas King. Merrow offers Deacon a chance to become his mentor, just as Meena had done for him.
