Summary

Cypher is a superhero who uses martial arts and computer hacking to solve crime in Millenium City. Cypher's secret identity is James Waen. At a young age, Waen's mother passed away from a disease that doctors could not explain.

Early Life

After his mother passed, they were becoming financially broke that they were almost evicted from their home. Afterwards, Waen picked up on how to hack internet passwords to provide free wi-fi for his brother when they were bored. His father became an alcoholic and started abusing him. He felt so useless that he could not protect himself or his brother. In his memory he will always remember how he couldn't be strong enough for himself or for his younger brother.

At the age of 27, Waen went to jail for the first time because he caused a blackout at the MC Rams football stadium to try and change the scoreboard of his favorite team. After he was released, he thought his crimes were petty and needed to bring a little heat to the table. He started breaking into bigger accounts and began revealing secrets of gangs that were growing in Westside. He revealed that the Purple Gang was transfering stolen money from Monster Island electronically to create a some mass weapon. Waen was able to intercept, and was able to return the leftover money back to MI. After a couple of days of laying low, a gentleman known as Linux appeared at Waen's door. Linux found passion in Waen's work and wanted to assist and help take down the gangs in Westside. He offered Waen help on a job to track a signal of why money was being taken out of MI and into Westside that Linux was looking into as well. He agreed to the mission and wanted to investigate the area. On their way to the site, Waen and Linux were ambushed by assassins, killing Linux and leaving Waen to die in the alley.

After a few hours passed, Waen had serious injuries and reported his partner in crime, Linux, dead. As he woke up with blurry vision, a hooded figure stood over him. It was NightHawk. ((IC)) "Glad you decided to wake up. Drink this." He passed some sort of brew to him. "Drink this, it'll bring nourishment back to your body." ((OOC)). As he drunk the brew, it had a terrible after taste that he spit it out onto the floor. Waen felt so devastated that he brought death to one of his friends and was not able to protect him. He begged NightHawk to teach him how to fight and how to be stronger for the weak. After debating and reconsidering, NightHawk decided to train James on how to protect Millenium City and how to fight for purpose and honor. After that day, Nighthawk assigned the codename Cypher and began started training.
