Background and Origin

Origin and Early Life

Very few things are known about Cyber Six's early life. She comes from another dimension where technology is far more advanced than ours. Humanity has reached advanced FTL travel and spread to the stars, far beyond the solar system. Cybernetic augmentation has also reached level above Earth's current models, as show by Cyber Six's body. It is, however, a place where war is frequent between various factions and span over entire solar systems.

It is assumed that Cyber Six had a normal early childhood and that she was at least training from a relatively early age, due to the sword mastery she displayed from the first known point of her history. Some details are however known, namely, her augmentation history. At young age, an accident cause her to need an organ transplant, to replace a collapsed lung. This was her first augmentation, as a donor could not be found and she received an early model cybernetic lung. Complications a few years later forced another surgery to replace the lung with a new model.

Known history of Cyber Six begins at eighteen, where she joined the Sectorial Militia, a section of the army charged with policing a space sector (A sector is described as a major solar system and surrounding minor ones). Despite her lung, she easily reached the rank of Lieutenant and participated a few battles against pirates. At the time, the various factions that had formed after humanity's spread were at peace, if an uneasy one. But this did not last long. Soon, tensions broke the peace into an all out war between the two most powerful factions. Smaller ones, of which Cyber Six's was, were forced to ally with either into a conflict that spread to the whole territory of humanity.

War Time

Cyber Six during the War. She still had most of her limbs.
These events were recorded and recovered from a crashed ship, which held the service records of multiple soldiers, along with a recounting of the events of the war. The purpose of the ship remain unknown at this time, but it's assumed it was transferring the data to a different location when it was pulled into our dimension.

The war was started, surprisingly, by the weakest of the two major factions, the Tarian Combine, when they attempted to seize the exploitation rights on a system controlled by the Earth Alliance Federation. While a minor event at first, it started a chain reaction. Worlds on the border between the two factions' territories began to see riots against the other faction's visitors and travelers, to the point that both sides sent armies to protect their peoples. It remained skirmishes, relatively isolated until a Tarian ambassador was killed during a meeting with the Federation's dignitaries. The Combine blamed the Federation for this murder, while the Federation was convinced they had set things up to cause outrage within the population. No matter who was right, the skirmishes turned to all out war.

Cyber Six's sector was relatively close to the Federation's territory, and they were quickly drafted into their side. At first, the Federation faced multiple defeats due to act of sabotage and lost much territory. Cyber Six participated in multiple battles, some among them being of note.

The First Battle of Rax Prime

Rax Prime was a disaster for the Federation. Cyber Six and her battalion were deployed alongside three others to the mining world. The Combine forces where light and it was thought to be a simple mission. The fighting started to the advantage of the Federation. Cyber Six personally led her battalion to the main Combine base and they easily took if, utterly wiping out the defenders. Over the course of three days, most of the Combine's Occupation force was defeated, with only a few escaping into the wild. With this victory secured, the Federation Fleet in orbit left a few ships and moved to another battle, retrieving two of the battalion on the ground before doing so. It was a grave mistake, however. Cyber Six wondered why the Combine would leave such a rich resource world with so few protections and went to her commanding officer. She was dismissed, but was ultimately right. Soon after the fleet had left, a massive Combine Fleet arrived to the planet, obliterating the token force in orbit and forming a blockade while sending ten battalions to the ground. The federation forces sent a distress signal and held the Combines at bay, but any federation ship that came to their rescue was quickly destroyed. The commander himself was quickly killed and Cyber Six was forced to take command, resorting to ambushes and guerrilla tactics. They inflicted a lot of casualties on their enemies, but ultimately, most where wiped out, leaving Cyber Six with only ten of the thousand that were present at first and herself losing an arm. Eventually, a federation ship managed to fly through the blockade and rescue the survivors before fleeing back to Federation Space. Cyber Six was commended for her valor and received a new arm, but the defeat was a bitter loss for all of the Federation.

Plot on Anoi

After the events of Rax Prime, the Federation reviewed their strategies. They now knew the Combine's Forces were more dangerous than previously expected and acted accordingly. Eventually, they managed to push the Combine back, regaining lost planets and moving the frontline back toward the frontier. Cyber Six was able to get some free time on the planet Anoi, a city planet. However, things quickly turned strange. Various high profile members of the Federation on the planet were killed during a meeting, apparently with a sword. Despite being on shore leave, Cyber Six was asked to examine the bodies due to her expertise in swordsmanship. She was able to identify that the murder was committed with a monomolecular blade, similar to the one she used. Unknown to her, this simple act made her a target. Later that night, as she was leaving for her hotel, she was attacked by a masked individual wielding one such blade. They fought into the street, her opponent clearly gaining the upper hand as Cyber Six was not prepared for such an attack and was without weapon. She held long enough for the police force to arrive, forcing the mysterious figure to flee. From this point, she was assigned an agent for protection and was allowed to carry weapons at all time. Returning to the scene of battle, Cyber Six and the police discovered traces that led them to a warehouse owned by one of the Anoi's council member. Investigating, they were ambushed by the very same masked figure, only this time, Cyber Six was ready and, although some police officers were killed, she dueled him and successfully unmasked him, revealing a cyborg with a helmet. He fled once more but one of the officers managed to shoot him with a tracking round. The cyborg was tracked to the very mansion of the councilman. Expecting another assassination, Cyber Six and the police rushed there, but were surprised by the councilor's personal guard that began to shoot at them. In a heated battle, the police managed to enter the mansion and Cyber Six personally confronted the councilor, who was revealed to be the cyborg itself. They dueled once again, the councilor using his full cybernetic body to nearly kill Cyber Six, but she managed to trick him and kill him with his own blade and win the battle. Upon further investigation into the councilor, it was discovered that he was a Combine agent placed there many years ago. With this done, Cyber Six enjoyed a week of calm time before returning to the war.

The Void Star Battle

Cyber Six participated a large scale space battle mid way through the war. While not directly involved in the ship-to-ship combat, she defended the ship she was on when it was boarded. This battle is significant to the war because it was the turning point, when the Federation managed to break the stalemate and begin its push toward the Combine's home world. The battle began when two fleets met in the void between two systems. The meeting was, surprisingly, entirely random. As the battle started, both side sent word for reinforcement. Fleets poured into the battle until nearly the full might of both factions were pulled into the battle, making this the single largest fleet battle of the war. Both sides inflicted heavy losses on the other, until the captain of the doomed ship Void Star rushed toward the center of the Combine's fleet to self-destruct, inflicting such loss and confusion on their forces that the Federation was able to use this momentum and utterly defeat the Combine's fleet. While many of their ships escaped, most were damaged and they had lost at least a third of their standing forces.

The Second Battle of Rax Prime

As the war entered its adolescence, Cyber Six found herself back on the world of Rax Prime. This time, the Federation was ready quickly broke through the blockade to land their forces on the ground. The battle raged in both space and ground, where ten battalions, each commanded by one of the survivor of the first battle, battled with the defending forces. For them, it was revenge for the extreme losses of the early days of the war. The Combines, however, were not about to give the planet easily and the battle lasted for four days, with reinforcement coming on both sides. Eventually, the battle was taken to the mines as the Combine forces retreated. For two days, the Federation tried to push further into the mines, but faced entrenched forces. Eventually, it was decided that a strike tea would be formed to infiltrate the mines and plant explosives. All ten survivors, including Cyber Six, were chosen for this mission. They were infiltrated during a diverting attack and hid behind the Combine lines until the fighting stopped. They then progressed down into the mines, encountering surprisingly little resistance behind the enemy lines. The explosives where set and the team reached the deepest reaches of the mines, only to discover a small scientific facility. Within, they found that the scientists had fled, but they found on the computers data recordings showing experiments on a strange creature. Keeping this data, they prepared to set the last explosives and leave when they were ambushed by Combine forces, one member of the team being killed. In the end, Cyber Six and five other members managed to exit the mines, three remaining behind to make sure the bombs detonated. The operation was however a success, the destruction of the mine ending Combine dominion over the planet. The data retrieved would vanish until much later.

The Invasion of Tarian

Cyber Six participated in many other battles during the war, but none was more important than the final battle on Tarian, the Combine's Homeworld. War was in complete favor of the Federation, but the Tarian Combine refused to surrender. As the Federation's full forces approached Tarian, they were set upon by every remaining ship the Combine had. It was, however, not enough to stop them and the Federation quickly established a beach head outside of Tarian's capital city. Cyber Six was among the ground forces, acting as commander of a fourth of the forces. The siege of the city began. The city had powerful defenses, including artillery and a massive outer wall that resisted bombardments. The wall held for nearly a week before a lucky shot destroyed a power generator on the other side, opening a gate. For that point, the fighting took place within the city itself. Tarian were fighting ferociously, with the vigor of a trapped beast and inflicted massive casualties on the Federation, but they just weren't enough. Sections by sections, the city fell, until only the central palace remained, defended by an elite force. It took two days of fighting before the place was breached and the Prime Minister of the Combine arrested, ending the war.

Under Kumov and meeting Aurlena

With the war ending, the Federation was now in control of all the territories of humanity. The follow up of the war was not what most had expected, however. The Federation, renaming itself the Human Empire, turned to dictatorship to establish its control further, putting down rebellions and creating a climate of fear among the population of even their own worlds. Cyber Six, as part of the army, participated this. She was placed under Colonel Kumov, a war hero with a reputation of tactical genius and a ruthless personality hidden behind a mask of calm. Under his command, Cyber Six was semi-forced, semi-convinced to undergo further augmentation, replacing her three remaining limbs as well as giving her various other implants. Unknown to her at the time, one of her cerebral implant was altering her thoughts, subtly making her act according to Kumov's wishes. He was effectively controlling her, though she herself was certain she was acting on her own.

Time went on and Cyber Six was used to put down rebels and pirates everywhere. The former war hero came to be feared as the weapon of the Empire. As repression continued, however, the Empire faced more and more rebels and was in a constant state of civil war. Kumov moved his forces from world to world, killing many in his self proclaimed "defense of the true order". In truth, he was merely advancing his own plans, collecting resources and reinforcing his forces for a potential coup. Along the way, Cyber Six met an opponent who would eventually change her life. Aurlena, a secret government agent from our dimension, had somehow managed to enter this one and confronted Cyber Six during a mission in the Korp System. Over the course of Kumov's conquest of this system, Aurlena and Cyber Six would meet in combat a total of seven times, with each encounter a draw. Toward the end of the conflict, they fought for an eighth time.

As Kumov forces were fighting the resistance, Cyber Six encountered Aurlena again on top of a building. They fought, Cyber Six having the advantage of strength and agility, but Aurlena compensating with her mastery of her sniper rifle, which she used quite effectively even at close range. Ultimately, Aurlena won the duel when she jumped backward and shot Cyber Six as she was turning. The shot damaged her arm and sent her flying down the building. While she managed to catch onto a ledge and climb back, Aurlena was gone (it is now known that Aurlena, at this very moment, managed to return to our Earth with only a couple days having passed here). Kumov forces had won the battle, but, within Cyber Six's mind, Aurlena's last words remained. "What do you really fight for?" Cyber Six returned to Kumov's capital ship where he commended her and sent her to be repaired. As she was resting, Cyber Six continued to think. The last straw came when Kumov sent a strike team into a facility on the planet. He then ordered to unleash what was held inside. From the cruiser in space, Cyber Six saw the same creature she had seen on Rax Prime, but thousands of them, escape the facility and lay waste to the planet. Not only the rebels, but every living souls on it, including Kumov's soldiers still down there. The Combination of the damage inflicted to her, along with the new doubts her former nemesis had placed in her mind, and the massacre of a whole planet somehow overcame the mind altering implant. Coming to realize that everything she had done since her augmentation was not on her own accord, she started to plan her escape.

The flight to Earth

It took a week of planning for Cyber Six to be ready to defect. Kumov was a careful man and a dangerous foe. She had to avoid confrontation with him at all cost. During the last week of her time with his forces, Cyber Six faked to still be under his control, questioning no orders and acting as a weapon still. The opportunity to escape presented itself when a group of rebels staged a desperate attack on the cruiser. They created just enough chaos for Cyber Six to steal a small fighter and escape the ship to avoid detection, she let herself float in space and entered sleep mode, hiding her vital functions. Her plot worked perfectly, Kumov putting down the rebels and continuing on his way without noticing Cyber Six's absence. Waking a day later, she pondered her situation. Kumov was certain to come after her now so she had to flee. But Kumov was a high ranking officer of the Empire and as such, had reaches far beyond any place she could go to. Except for one place. She remembered how Aurlena had simply vanished without a trace. The solution was on Korp. Despite the planet still being overrun by the alien creatures, Cyber Six made her way there, heading for the very location of her last battle with Aurlena. She had to fight the aliens to reach it, and when she did, she found nothing. Surrounded, she backed up slowly, until suddenly, her surrounding changed. She was now in the middle of Millennium City.

Currently

When she arrived to our world, Cyber Six immediately sought the authorities, ending up in UNTIL custody. She told her story, which was confirmed by the data recovered from the rogue ship mentioning the war and Aurlena's own account. The area where she had arrived to our world is now closely monitored, but no trace of the portal could be found. Cyber Six is now working as a hero, to redeem herself for her past deeds. UNTIL keep monitoring her actions, as the is a chance Colonel Kumov might seek her out even in our world.

Powers, Skills, and Attributes

Powers

Superhuman Strenght - Thanks to her cybernetic limbs, Cyber Six's strength has reached minor superhuman level, able to lift small cars.

Superhuman Agility - Also given to her by her cybernetics, she has superhuman agility and reflexes. Her speed is also enhanced. This goes above her super strength as she is more of an agile fighter than a powerful one.

Skills and Attributes

Expert Swordsmanship - Even before her augmentation, Cyber Six was an expert at fighting with a sword. Since the addition of her cybernetic limbs, her skill with a blade are even more enhanced.

Energy Blast - Cyber Six is able to discharge the energy powering her cybernetics through a lens on her hands, sending an energy blast. This blast is non-lethal unless she puts most of her energy into it. This would however leave her extremely vulnerable as her energy has a limit.

Military training - Through her experience during the war, Cyber Six has learned many abilities a veteran soldier would possess. This includes, but not limited to, survival thanks to Rax Prime, Guerrilla warfare, basic medical training, tactics and strategies and operating various vehicles. However, she's notoriously bad with firearms and she stays away from anything bigger than a pistol.

Gear and Equipment

Gear

Weapon - Monomolecular Blade This blade is designed to be able to cut through shield and armor. Using a combination of a sharp edge and micro vibration, the sword is able to open a tank if enough force is applied. Many things can still stop it, but Cyber Six wields it with extreme skill.

Armor - Combat suit Cyber Six still uses the suit she had when working for Kumov. It only covers her torso , the limbs not requiring the same kind of protection. The suit is able to deflect blades and small caliber firearms and is light enough to not restrict her movements. For more protection, her arms and legs both had small forcefield generators, allowing her to form holo shields around them.

Others - Cybernetics Her biggest feature is of course her cybernetic limbs, but she also have various neural and physical implants. However, many of these are currently inactive and will activate progressively as time goes. (In game, this represent level gains and new powers)

Weaknesses

Battery Life Most of Cyber Six's cybernetic augmentations runs on energy that her body produce by consuming nutrients. For that reason, she has to eat more than a normal person. She however has two batteries within hers that can keep her going for about half a day of battle. They replenish over time, but should she run out of energy, she'll be forced into sleep mode, leaving her completely vulnerable.

EMP As part cybernetic, Cyber Six is vulnerable to electro-magnetic pulses. While they cannot disable her, they can drain her battery, forcing her to rely on stored energy, which can be dangerous should she have not replenished in a while.

Relationships

Friends/Allies

Aurlena

Formerly her nemesis, Cyber Six now consider the sniper and stealth operative to be an ally and a friend. It was thanks to her that she managed to escape from Kumov and come to our dimension.

Enemies

Colonel Kumov

While not exactly a foe yet, Cyber Six now consider Kumov to be a threat to her own life. As of right now, Kumov remains in her original dimension and there has been no sign of him trying to enter this one. But it's very likely that he is looking for her to make her pay for her betrayal.

General Perception

To the general population, she is simply another hero fighting to help people. Only Aurlena and some close allies are aware of who she is. As for what other heroes/villains may know, only someone with access to classified UNTIL information can know about her story.

Trivia

- Cyber Six's dimension is inspired by many Science Fiction universes such as StarCraft, Mass Effect and even Star Wars. It possible to see references, but it is only inspired, nothing is copied directly apart from the name of Cyber Six's blade.
- Her augmentations and cybernetics are highly advanced. Nobody knows who actually repairs them when they are damaged, but someone is.
- Her age is currently unknown but she appears to be around thirty. This is due to her cybernetics that slows her aging considerably.
- Finally, the author is open to suggestions. If an aspect is unclear or doesn't make sense, or even if she seems too powerful, feel free to comment.
