CHILDHOOD
Adam is the only child of Henry and Mary Brooks. At a young age it was discovered he had inherited his father's powers, and as a result his parents began grooming him to become the next leader of Brooks Industries. They hired the best scholars and instructors to teach Adam a variety of disciplines, brought him to company events and meetings, and in addition Henry would take time to train Adam one-on-one and track his progression.

When Henry felt Adam was ready he introduced him to Brooks Industries' black operations; immoral and/or illegal activities that increased the company's profit and power. It was then he learned his father was secretly Deathstrike, a wanted mercenary linked to several events which Brooks Industries had benefited from, and became his sidekick. Together they completed several missions and Brooks Industries became even more lucrative; however Adam began to change when he developed a crush on another teen, Abbey Smith.

BETRAYAL & TAKEOVERS
Henry did not approve of Adam pursuing Abbey, and after failing to convince his son not to, killed her parents. Abbey and her siblings were forced to move away, and Adam was left feeling heartbroken and betrayed. He secretly began to hate his father and vowed revenge. Sometime later during a mission Deathstrike was severely weakened. Adam used this moment to betray his father by injuring him further, immobilizing him, and leaving him to die in a massive explosion.

Upon returning home Mary helped cover up Henry's death by making it seem as if Henry had died in a plane crash, and Adam was voted the new CEO of Brooks Industries. However, unlike his father, Adam did not want to continue the black operations and instead focused on making all of Brooks Industries' activities legal. He successfully thwarted a takeover from the other board members, permanently securing his position in the process, and began making amends.
