Malvan Arena
Unknown time & date

A skybox lounge overlooked a large, sweeping arena of barren dust and dirt with a deep bedrock layer which was sequentially exposed at varying heights around the circular battlefield. It resembled an alien world such as Mars or some other destitute ruin of a forgotten, destroyed planet with a now nameless collection of extinct, orphaned species lost to the bitter throes of cosmic memory. A metallic, unimpregnable wall stood roughly thirty feet high with a translucent dome sealing the combatants in and shielding spectators from any aspect of the damage or use of powers within.

The lounge overlooking it all was bathed in shadow. Only the faint silhouettes of large figures sitting around the room were visible to the naked eye. They spoke a language altogether foreign to the human ear and their voices were both elegant and regal, yet devoid of complex of colorful emotion. It was as if they had very little interest or fervor for life itself, let alone the contest they were about to spectate purely for the purpose of entertainment.

"This had better be as entertaining as you've built it up to be, Tateklys," one of the figures spoke out with a strong note of skepticism that, among their collective mannerisms and voices, stood out like a shriek of joy from a small human girl.

"Before you stand two of the strongest beings from parallel Earths," Tateklys explained with the vaguest sense of burning intrigue biting at the surface of his every word forming through the strange, cosmic language they spoke. "Both orphans of a lost planet who found refuge on Earth and became its one true protector. Both boast a power over their planet so great that only cosmic beings could provide either with a significant challenge. Who wouldn't want to see them go a few rounds?"

"And you've kidnapped them from their own dimensions?"

"Precisely. Both beings have had an impossibly childish sense of morality instilled in them by mankind. So both of their memories have been purged to ensure a full show of force by both parties."

"You may be onto something here, Tateklys."

"The dome has been fitted with a temporal compression drive and over four-hundred individual sensors. So we won't miss a millisecond of the action from our perspective."

Within the dome, on opposite sides upon the dusty surface, stood two men of imposing stature. From across the length of the arena, they held an ominous, ice cold stare upon one another like a predator stalking its prey. Although distinctly familiar, there was something different about each of them. An dethatched, focused air of malice that crept into the soul of the spectator and slowly wriggled around like an ice-cold earthworm in the pit of the stomach. They were not themselves anymore.

Clarke Kent, better known to his worlds as Superman, stood 6'3 weighing 235lbs of bulky Kryptonian muscle that swelled from beneath his tight blue suit. A long, heavy red cape flowed over his shoulders and rested on the dusty ground behind his matching red chevroned boots. His chiseled, hansom face adopted a subtle grin upon his right cheek as he began to take firm, confident strides toward his foe, never breaking eye contact. Using his superhuman vision, he could look his enemy in the cores of his soul from across the arena.

Goku stood at 5'9, slightly to the side with his right leg gently dropped back and both fists loosely cradled over his hips. He weighed 137lbs of shredded, well conditioned muscle that was visible from under his navy training gear and baggy orange gi with distinctive white and black insignia. His narrow chin was dipped low, allowing the thick locks of his spiky black hair to peek below his brow line.

As Superman began to walk toward him, he simply scoffed under his breath just before pushing off his right foot at speeds that triggered all four-hundred sensors at once. He slide across the stone surface just off the tips of his left toes, drawing his right fist back at waist length. As he propelled himself across the arena, a wave of concentrated dust was kicked up in a perfect V-shape and forced to either side in hurricane force winds that would fill the arena shortly after. Just before reaching Superman, Goku began to emanate a gold aura of ki energy that trailed behind before enveloping him as his hair changed color to a vibrant, soft platinum blonde. Powered by his first Super Saiyan form, he unloaded a blistering right cross to the left jaw of Superman, twisting and torqueing his hips into the strike completely and with full commitment.
