Story of MM: Battle for Detroit
Detroit, Michigan July 23 1992
Andrile Dupontie was seeking a medical degree that she haven't completed due to her sickness that consumed her body to the debilitating degree; at first, she saw the news on TV at the local newsstand that Vanguard had sacrificed himself to stop the asteroids from destroying North America, she was saddened by this recent development but concerned that it's way more than just a common asteroid activity.
"It's interesting," said Andrile with a hint of worry tinged in her voice, "I fear that it's not just a kind of outer space moment, some sort of unknown force must be behind this."
Xavier Evendry, her lover, wasn't concerned about this but was saddened by his idol's sacrifice and as a result wanted to help out his lover as much as he can, "Most asteroids had a near miss ratio, it's kind of a normal thing that the asteroids tried hitting earth but the guy sacrificed himself for--" but the television have interrupted them with a message from Dr. Destroyer,
"Citizens of Detroit!" He boastfully declared, "My name is Dr. Destroyer, that was the beginning of my plans for world domination, my meteor magnet would continue to pull the asteroids unless you comply with my demands immediately and don't think that Defender and the Champions won't be here to witness this moment of triumph, I'll be waiting for them..." and the television cut off this message.
By this message, Andrile knew that this "Dr. Destroyer" was behind this series of asteroids headed to earth and as a result, Vanguard sacrificing himself in order to foil one of his plans, she made the decision to get her "Masked Miracle" outfit that she have in the bag on and help out the heroes in foiling another plot; Andrile took off her recent outfit and puts on her white mini-tunic as well as the golden gloves and shoes, once she putted on the outfit, she took off to aid the heroes in Detriot.

The battle for detroit have begun with the heroes fighting off Destroids, the creations of Dr. Destroyer, one of the heroes, the dark green and blackish colored costumed man with the goggles Atomlight, silently cursed at the fact that things looked grim from the start and the white and black cladded hero, Ace Rush thrown his explosive card at one of the destroids and it exploded, taking out some of them in the process; once the smoke cleared, the destroids outnumbered the heroes and opened fired at them, gravely injuring most of the heroes in the process and some are killed by them in the process.
"Atomlight," Ace Rush called, "I have a idea, you use the energy that you have to blast those stinkin' destroids while I use the extra time to evacuate the civilians, it's the only way I could make up for all our past efforts."
"Of course," Atomlight nodded.
After the plan was set in motion, Ace Rush used the opportunity to evacuate the citizens as he thrown explosive cards at the destroids as well as the EMP cards at them, at first, the destroids were weakened by this but the three of them used something to subdue them, after they subdued the two heroes, the three destroids charged up their rifles for the heroes execution but a white streak destroyed the two destroids; the two heroes wondered what is it, they opened their eyes and see the amazonian figure that is the Masked Miracle, the remaining destroid fired a bolt of energy from it's rifle but she electrocuted the machine with her hand.
"Are you okay my friends?" Masked Miracle asked.
Atomlight just nodded but Ace Rush replied with a hint of anger in his voice, "No thanks to the machines, I'm not alright. It's all because of the stupid machines that they killed my family, they tried to set me straight on my criminal career but I continue on without consequence."
"You must find your own path to redemption," Masked Miracle calmly replied, "It's the only way to make up for the family that you lost."
Once the destroids retreated and the Meteor Magnet disabled, some of the heroes including the champions saw that the orbital cannon was charging up, once it charged up, it fired, leveling the whole city along with the skyscrapers; Masked Miracle realized that her lover was in one of the buildings that's falling, once she's picked up the debris, she saw that Xavier was lying there dead, crushed by the debris, tears was building up inside as she stood there in sadness as she suffered a crushing moral defeat at the hands of Dr. Destroyer.
Her fist shook in anger and shock at the very sight of her lover, she was speechless at the thought that he was evacuating the citizens and was among the many victims killed by Dr. Destroyer; Masked Miracle tried to see if there are survivors in the remaining parts of the sky scrapers but there are some that are living and most are dead, all she saw was a helmet of Dr. Destroyer, disappointed that her revenge was taken from her but she known that they haven't seen the last of him.
Two days later
After the battle for Detroit was over, Andrile constantly visited her lover's gravesite as a result of the falling debris, she contemplated quitting the hero career but a familiar figure occurred, the figure, Leonardi Brennard, asked, "Is your lover more important in your career?"
Still saddened by the loss, Andrile angrily replied, "You don't know... you don't know anything about loss!"
"Of course I do!" Leonardi shouted, "The death of my family is the reason why I kept on going, while you, the so called high and mighty princess, continue to mope around with your dead boyfriend!"
"Are you saying it's my fault what happened to Xavier?!" Andrile snarled, "Blaming me for someone else death isn't going to get you nowhere."
Leonardi calmed down and replied in a stoic tone, "You remind me about something, you know? About redemption, you told me to honor my late family however I can."
That talk slapped some mental sense into Andrile, how could she yelled at her friend about her dead lover while he told her to go on? She then thought that she would continue on with her hero career, now that a friend remind her that she is one.
