Rosalyn Le Doux
Powerful footsteps echo along the ornate corridor as Rosalyn tries not to run, the sound of her heels loud against the marble floor beneath her. Every movement graceful and poised; she is watched here, in this place, and she cannot afford to give even a moments weakness. They would probably kill her for it, outsider...outcast that she is.
"Why do you even care?" The question stops Rosalyn in her tracks, creasing that usually perfect face as she frowns in confusion. It was certainly not the question she had expected. She turns to face her questioner in one long elegant movement, staring at him with calculating red eyes, a hand rising to fix her already perfect hair in place as a way to slow her need to reply.
Because, why did she care?
They were only humans, it was only Earth. She had been one of the first to decry how disgusting a species they could be. So crass, cruel and horrendously oblivious to the damage they did every day to creatures they didn't even know existed. Often it was other humans too... Did she actually care then about such a people?
Despite not wanting to she did.
It had cost her nearly everything but still she went on. Protecting those foolish creatures, even as their own stupidity brought down the world around them. Aiding them as they marched on into oblivion. It was odd... feeding off the darkness only to bring hope. Rosalyn smiles at the man behind her, grinning with sudden wickedness, because oh how she fed.
"Because they don't," Rosalyn replies at last. It was true, in its own way. She walks on, ignoring the confusion on her questioner's face. Her sudden laughter filling the corridor and scaring away her would be attackers.
