Background and Origin
Life Before Speed.
Jordan Jackson, alsoknown as JJ, is a hyper-active 18-year old who was born powerless into a middle-class family in the southern state of South Carolina. JJ and his family moved to the east side of Millennium City prior to his senior year of high school. Life was fairly normal until one stormy night JJ and his brother Amarri, encountered the villan Voltage who attempted to kill them. JJ and his brother were saved by JJ's necklace which had a Kelvarite shard that grew unstable and shattered due to Voltage's electricity. The shattering of the Kelvarite caused a blast of ionized Kelvarite radiation, injuring Voltage and leaving JJ's brother paralyzed from the waist down

L'Institut Thoth
The blast left JJ with superhuman physcial characteristics such as heightened stamina, agility, healing, reactions, and strength but most notably the ability to move and think at extreme superhuman speeds. By running, JJ emits electrically charged Kelvarite energy alongside a protective aura he can envelop himself and others in to shield against the harsh forces and effects of moving at super speeds. These powers did not come easy however. JJ found it very difficult to control his speed and as a result went to a branch of L'Institut Thoth within Millennium City to gain control over his abilities. Within months JJ was in full control with an anti-friction suit provided to him by the institute

Powers
Superhuman Speed - Rush's main ability gained from the blast is his inhuman speed. JJ is able to clock Mach 1 with little difficulty appearing as a distorted blur of motion to onlookers and also producing a sound of the sound barrier being broken while running. Due to his speed, Rush possesses a highly efficient and incredibly quick metabolism; unlike regular humans who only use about 25% of the caloric energy present in the consumed food, Rush metabolizes an estimated 99.5% of the caloric energy content of foodstuffs. While working out, he had to consume 3,000 calories per hour to maintain his energy without passing out. He often drinks vanilla milkshakes with extra whipped because he needs 30,000 calories a day. JJ's body has adapted towards the rigors of high-speed running. His cardiovascular and respiratory systems are many times more efficient than those of a normal human being.
Enhanced Reflexes and Perception - Rush's reaction time and the speed at which his brain processes information are heightened to a level similar to his running speed, enabling him to perceive his surroundings while traveling at high velocities. Because of the way JJ gained his powers, he cannot turn his enhanced perception off, at least not without a decent amount of concentration. He experiences time differently than everyone around him, leading him to get bored easily. Since his brain processing speed and perception are heightened to a level similar to his running speed, Rush's reflexes are enhanced to inhuman levels the faster he moves allowing him to maneuver around and launch attacks while moving at high speed.
Enhanced Strength and Healing - Rush is physically stronger than normal humans with comparable physiques, able to carry multiple adult humans with him as he runs. He is also able to impart high amounts of kinetic energy with his punches. Rush also heals fairly faster than average humans. JJ is able to heal from cuts and bruises within an hour or so with bullet wounds and more serious injuries taking a few more hours to heal completely. Due to his metabolism, his body has more energy available which likely can be used to accelerate his cellular regeneration.
Weaknesses
Limited Durability - While he has a higher durability than the average human, he can still break his hands or other parts of his body from the force of his own attacks if he isn't careful.
Lack of Fighting Skills - Rush is overly reliant on his unrivaled speed, since there are few opponents that could actually keep up with him. As a result of this, his attacks are predictable and he can be caught if he isn't careful.
Accelerated Metabolism - Rush's metabolism functions several times faster than normal, so he constantly takes in large quantities of food to maintain his energy. If Rush does not supply himself with enough food he will pass out from exhaustion.

Friction-Resistant Suit - L'Institut Thoth has provided JJ with a anti-friction suit that is strong enough to withstand the full force that JJ creates when he moves at superhuman speeds. Due to his accelerated metabolism, Rush keeps a small supply of food in a hidden compartment on his belt for emergency use.
Protective Goggles - Along with the suit, the institute provided JJ with goggles to protect his eyes from debris while running.
General Perception
Rush is seen as a hero and ally to the public. He has made waves for stopping crime and rescuing civilians all across the state of Michigan. One of his feats being that he stopped two robberies that occurred at the same time about 254 miles apart from each other.
