Nathan grew up most of his life constantly on the move, going from city to city, state to state due to his family's financial issues as well as the system practically putting them under their thumb. His father and mother struggling for employment eventually forced him to get a job to help the family out.
For a time, things were looking up. His father, mother and him eventually finding decent jobs in Colorado, his brother getting a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and his younger brothers getting a decent school education.
Unbeknownst to his family and friends, Nathan began to regularly hit the gym and the gun ranges, training both his body and himself in firearms and the art of hand-to-hand combat. After a year of hard work and exercise, he was now ready to hit the streets, but he needed something to conceal himself to the public. Nathan decided to create a costume, taking inspiration from the "Anarchist" appearance style, most notably that of
Casey Jones from
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by styling his mask off of Casey's. The rest of his outfit would consist of a black tank top, a Kevlar vest painted black with a red R spray painted on in the style of the
Anarchy A, elbow and knee pads, black leather gloves modified with small metal plates for hand-to-hand combat, the half of a tire for a right shoulder pad, black jeans and black boots.
Beginnings
During his first days, he mostly did community based acts, such as helping the elderly cross the street, finding a lost pet or giving food to the poor, eventually gaining somewhat of a positive reputation among his local community. He would eventually escalate to stopping armed robberies, drug busts as well as personal favors from distressed civilians. His actions would inevitably catch the ire of the crime lord Tengu who would send hitmen and hired muscle after Revolution forcing him to always be watching his back every time he went out on patrol.
His inexperience coupled with his paranoia would cause Samson to discover his secret identity nearly threatened to expose his secret to his family before reconsidering under the condition that he act as Revolution’s navigator and contact the next time Revolution went out to the streets. To back up his argument Samson began supplying him with all the weapons, ammunition and gear he could ever need, even renovating his basement to be used as a base of operations.
Since then, Revolution has gained newfound confidence and courage, reinforcing his convictions to bring order to the streets.

Some see him as a criminal and a murderer, others see him as a true hero struggling against an unlawful society. Because of this, he is forced to take desperate measures to prevent being caught despite his wish to avoid conflict with the authorities.
Tropes
- Blood Knight - Due to his dark past, he feels a slight bit of satisfaction when fighting.
- Bond One-liner - Sometimes does this before blowing the brains out of a murderer.

- Dirty Cop - Has seen and fought against too many of these individuals which brands him as a criminal because of it.
- Guardian Angel - Swore to become this at the end of "The Shadow Years."

- Knight in sour armor - With most of the conservative right not standing up against the liberal left, he feels that he is the only one with the resolve to do so.
- Police Brutality - One of the main reasons why he became Revolution in the first place.
- Police are useless - Feels this to be one of the leading cases why the world is how it is.
- Rule of cool - Sometimes likes to finish things off with a bang. See "Bond one-liner."
- The Phoenix - How he symbolically sees himself after "The Shadow Years."
- "The Reason you suck" speech - Has done this many times in the face of certain police officers due to their unlawful actions, has even had a few good cops join in.
