Origins
The story of Morhault Soren begins in the late Third Epoch of the Turakian Age. He was born to Maliene Soren, and an unknown Father. Maliene was a well known and well-liked woman residing in the village of Direrest, within the realm of the great trade city of Aarn. She was also a widow, having lost her child and husband during a raid by a band of Orcs. She came close to despair from the pain of her loss, but the Skyfather Kilbern heard her torment and felt a great pity. In the night he came to her, and delivered unto her a son. She named the child Morhault, after her late love. The child was of dark hair and grey steel eye, and was rarely troubled.
Even as a young boy of only a few years Morhault was tall and strong beyond his few years, a full head above many of the older children of the village and his strength could almost match a grown mans. It would have been easy for him to be an outcast, unwanted by the other children in their games. This was not to be, for Morhault had an open and friendly manner and proved to be quite popular with both the children and adults of the village.
As he aged he found work as a farmhand, working the fields of Gannis Straine, one of Direrests most wealthy inhabitants. His great and tireless strength soon made him the most useful and productive of Straines workers. This rankled some of his less dedicated and more immoral workers, who came together to plan on how to remove this upstart. They decided to ambush him after work, when he would be weary from the days exertions. And so they did, three grown men against a single, if tall and strong boy of twelve years. They proved to be overmatched, for Morhault proved able to take their blows with little trouble while delivering his own far more ruinous strikes. He quickly overcame them, leaving them doubled over in pain on the ground. He then sought out Straine, to reveal to him the nights violence.
