Background and Origin

The Untamed


What They Are: The Untamed are an animal-like race that are derived from the wild animals we see today. The males of the race are known as Barbarians or "Barbs" in short. The males retained their brutish and animalistic appearances and have immense physical strength that is matched by their intimidating appearance. The females of the Untamed are called Venomancers or "Venos" for short. The females evolved further into powerful magic users and hold a more human appearance. Though they lived and died in many battles none have regretted it. In war the Untamed sought peace and in achieving that in their homelands they seek to protect the stability and prosperity of the world as a whole.
Culture: The Untamed are a noble race that have a city located in the Southwest Desert. The city is called The "City of the Wilds" and is considered the capital city of their race, it is located in a hidden valley. Even though the Untamed lived with and evolved alongside humans, they kept their tribal appearances in their life styles. Untamed live in small housings made from tanned rawhide produced to be wind and water resistant and held in place with wooden poles and decorated with various artwork that describe the Untamed’s personality and experiences in life. These houses are designed to be mobile as the Untamed are partially nomadic people. Untamed music can be split into two parts, one being loud and thunderous, often present at the start and end of political events to light and airy flute centered melodies that are an iconic, ambient sound of Untamed cities and villages.
Genetics: The Untamed have a slightly different way of being identified than humans and other races do, the race as a whole is called the "Untamed". While the male and female genders are called "classifications" given how vastly Barbs and Venos, both are essential two different "classes" of the same race. "Species" refers to the individual Barbarian or Venomancer’s animal characteristic. Finally the Barb or Veno’s "morphology" is the specific appearance of their animal characteristics. When a Veno and a Barb bare a child the child will either be a boy or a girl that shares the same species and morphology as the father or mother in respect. In the case of a Veno baring children with a non-Untamed, if the child is a girl, it will always be a Venomancer that shares the mother’s species and morphology, if the child is a boy, then the child will match the race of the father. The same happens when a Barbarian has a child with a woman of a different race, if the child is a boy a similar event happens as stated above but in reverse, the boy matches the species and morphology of the father, and if the child is a girl, it will match the mother’s race.


The Barbarians


Appearances: Barbarians evolved from animal species that can be considered “brutish” in appearance or nature. Holding onto their animal characteristics more than the females, Barbarians appear more animal-like. A Barb’s body is covered in fur or scale and have a complete animal head in respect to the body of the Barbarian’s species. Some recorded species include, but are not limited to; wolves, tigers, bears, and alligators. Barbs also have the ability to change into a complete animal in respect to their species.
Abilities: True to their animal characteristics, Barbarians are vicious and wild combatants. When left unarmed, the Barbarians utilize a form of martial arts known as “Anima Maga”, this form of martial arts is specific to each Barbarian species and is respected to the animal they share their characteristics. As a result, this form of martial arts is extremely difficult for a Barb of a different species to learn. Due to the species complexity of this martial arts it is impossible for non-Untamed to learn. And with high dexterity, endurance, strength, and constitution as their primary super stats, they are able to dispatch even the largest of foes with ease and are considered the perfect “tanks” against any opponent. While in their animal form, Barbs have further enhanced tanking abilities and increased movement speed.
Items: Despite their martial arts, Barbarians prefer to use weapons. The pole-arm is the iconic weapon of the Barbarian, specifically the pole-hammer. However, Barbs have been seen using smaller weapons, including swords, dual blades, and spears. Barbarians wear heavy armor in a tribal style, designed from tanned rawhides and plated with bone and metallic armaments. Aside from their intricate and decorated armors, Barbs will also wear accessories from nose rings as seen on bull Barbarians to collars worn by wolf Barbs in a seemingly stereotypical fashion to their respected animal counter parts.


The Venomancers


Appearances: Venomancers evolved to a more human-like appearance. Their only animal characteristics left are their tails, ears, and horns in respect to their species. Venomancers species are derived mostly from animals that can be considered, cute, small, playful, and fall under the idea of “vermin”. Recorded Veno species include, but are not limited to; bats, deer, foxes, and cats. Like Barbarians, Venomancers can transform into their respected animal. Unlike the Barbarians in which the body and head species and morphology match, the base color of the animal characteristics for Venos match the hair color the Venomancer in question has, if her hair is brown, the base color for the animal characteristics will also be brown.
Abilities: Venomancers are mostly known for their ability to inflict their opponents with curses. At the same time, Venos will apply a myriad of poisons upon their enemies. These abilities are often delivered in a style that resembles insects of varying nature from corrosive butterfly “shotgun bursts” to resistance decaying “scarab beetle swarms”, this is done in a dance-like fashion. Venomancers are very versatile and are able to wear cloth, light, and heavy armor, as well as, use magic, dexterous, and heavy weaponry depending on the Veno’s combat preferences. Similar to the Barb’s animal form the Venomancer can also transform and in doing so, further enhance their curses and raising movement speed. Venomancer are also avid animal trainers and many will summon pets to aid them in combat as well.
Items: Venomancers mostly prefer to use magic weapons, their iconic weapon is the staff. However, other Venos have been seen to use magic swords, wands, and glaives instead. Paired with the magic weapon, Venomancers will wear enchanted cloth armors that incorporate long flowing fabrics and if none, the clothing appears to “flow”. Venomancers also wear jewelry similar to the Barbarians, including, but not limited to, earrings, both for their human and animal ears, necklaces, arm bands, and the Veno’s iconic tail ring jewelry. If a Veno prefers a more physical combat style, she can wear heavy or light armors paired with a complementing weapon instead.


Pandora Arefu


Who Is She: Pandora is a very peculiar Venomancer as she has no specific species or morphology and at the same time, her left iris also changes colors randomly as well. Researchers have used the term, “Occult Polymorphia” to describe Pan’s interesting condition. Born to two unknown parents, Pan was found in a secluded area in Westside. Old Man Bobb happened to find her swaddled in a knitted baby blanket and a tattered note reading; “I am sorry my love, Pandora Arefu”. Bobb was searching for scrap, rocks, and fighting back the sewer rat army at the time she was found. She is also an oddly clumsy person, she can be seen tripping over nothing but air at times.
Special Abilities: Unlike other Venomancers, Pandora performs her attacks by lobbing her poisons and casting her curses in her opponents’ general direction, she does not perform the rhythmic dance-like attacks iconic of typical Venomancers instead doing this in wild and reckless abandon. This is a result of her lack of exposure to Untamed culture and customs since she was raised away from them. Her animal form is often as chaotic as the random animal combinations she has in human form. Pan has the ability to break the 4th wall, this is the result of her long term exposure to Old Man Bobb. Coupled with this ability, she strangely turns into entities that are both genetically and energetically different from her, when she turns into these, it is like Pandora has simply been swapped out of existence for this other person entirely.
Weird Items: Not typical of Untamed, Pan however, wears modern day human clothes of varying styles. Although, her travels to the Untamed settlements have allowed her to absorb some cultural aspects of her kin which she lacked growing up. A gift from Bobb, Pandora owns the Haven Bag, and item that is simply “bigger on the inside” despite how its outer appearance looks at the given time. This special bag was made from a pocket dimension, a plastic grocery bag, a frog, and some string. As a traveling merchant she has possession of multiple items to sell, Pan is also in possession of a "Broken Time Machine?" that Bobb claims she destroyed, multiple times apparently.


Powers / Skills / Attributes

Powers


Power 1 - Unyielding Curses: Pandora produces a number of curses that range from reducing her opponents damage down to nothing to causing her enemies resistances to be reduced to 0. Currently there is know know counter and the inflicted must suffer the curse's duration.


Power 2 - Virulent Poisons: A myriad of poisons, Pandora lobs these towards her enemies. There is currently no known anti-venom or antidote to stop the poison from ravaging her target's vitality.


Power 3 - Animal Shapeshifting: As with other Untamed, Pan has the ability to transform into animals. Unlike other Venomancers, due to her special condition, her animal form is as random as the current species and morphology she shares in human form. In animal form, Pan's curses are enhanced and movement speed is drastically increased.


Power 4 - Total Fauna Manipulation: As with all Venomancers, Pan has total control over wild animals, in combat, nearby animals will spontaneously appear to her aid. Aside from that, Pandora has a number of already trained pets she can summon in combat as well.


Power 5 - Acute Supernatural Manipulation: Due to her exposure to Old Man Bobb's unstable energies, Pandora has the ability to control and manipulate supernatural entities, from the undead to angelic beings to a degree. This is atypical of Venomancers.



Skills


Skill 1 - Master Tailor / Crafter: Pandora is a skilled tailor and has designed many outfits. This results in her not needing the tailors of Greer & Harlick to help her design her own outfits and costumes. Given she sells raw materials, sometimes she uses those materials to craft little baubles and decorations for her house.


Skill 2 - Chef / Alchemist: Pan is a professional, although she treats it more like a science experiment, chef. She is able to reproduce dishes from just about an cultural background, from the Untamed's raw meat dishes to producing the rare, thread-like pasta known as "su filindeu" known in Sardinia. Pandora also is a skill alchemist, this is coupled with her cooking skill and her business as a traveling merchant that deals mostly in raw ingredients.


Skill 3 - Pet / Supernatural Trainer: No surprise given her race and classification, Pandora is able to manipulate even the most loyal pets from their owners. Likewise, Pandora studies many sources to help enhance her minor manipulation of the supernatural.


Skill 4 - Time Manipulation: Due to the "Broken Time Machine?" in Bobb and Pan's possession, Pan has changed and predicted the outcomes that are or were to occur in the future, as a result, this gives Pandora god-like reflexes and knowledge.



Attributes


Attribute 1 - Random Species / Morphology: Atypical of the fixed species and morphology of Venomancers, Pandora has a condition known as "Occult Polymorphia" which translates to "Unknown Many Forms/Changes". Her animal characteristics are the acme of random, some recorded combinations included matching forms, such as, bunny ears and tail, cat ears and tail, and squirrel ears and tail. She also has a couple random forms, including but not limited to, bat ears and a kangaroo tail, fox ears and a cat tail, and even bunny ears and deer tail.


Attribute 2 - Hyper Regeneration: Pandora has the ability to regenerate damage as quickly as she receives it, it is unknown how this occurs. Pandora is essentially an immortal entity, it is presumed this is a result of her exposure to the unstable energies that are emissive of Old Man Bobb. ((No physical damage can be seen during or after fighting in game / No permanent death game features))


Attribute 3 - 4th Wall Breaking: Like Old Man Bobb, Pandora can be seen talking about random nonsense, referring to a "real life", events happening in said "life". Even various talk about "game bugs and breaks" and she has claimed at one time that; "I wish I could hide NPC speech bubbles, they are so annoying when mixed with player speech bubbles". Due to this mysterious attribute of Pandora she is also immune to telepathic, psionic, and any other effects that are used in attempting to read her mind or place control over Pandora. In doing so, has left all the attempted manipulators with a "serious migraine", Pandora is also aware of this, and in one recorded event, has told Menton; "Do you mind!" when he attempted to control Pandora with no success, this occurred shortly before his defeat at Stronghold Prison.

Gear


Weapon - Pandora uses no weapons. ((Atleast until magic staff combat is added))


Armor - Pandora's armor is either regular clothing or enchanted Venomancer cloth armor.


Gadget - The Haven Bag, an inconspicuous bag that, no matter its current outer appearance, it is; "always bigger on the inside", even serving as a house for Pandora. Aside from that, Pandora also owns a "Broken Time Machine?" used by Bobb and Pan for "science" purposes.

  • Harold Winkleman Corps. LLC - Pandora "borrowed" and is still in possesion of a "mechanical spider" taken from one of this super group's factories.

  • Ape Land - Pan is friends with the silver back of this super group, Sprinkles, as well as, many of its other members.

  • Teleios - Views Pandora as "strangely perfect specimen" he wishes to collect her.

  • Qulaar - Pandora was present during the attack on Millennium City and contributed to the ships fall into the water. ((Pandora was created prior to the new tutorial update))

General Perception

The general public views Pandora as if she were a typical Venomancer, although when she starts acting in the 4th wall they almost immediately act in a near xenophobic manner towards her often giving her "double takes" and look back to her in from the corner of their eyes as they speed walk away. The Untamed, while open to new concepts and ideas and accept outsiders in a friendly manner into their settlements, they do view Pandora as "weird". In the most part, Pandora's presence with Old Man Bobb as left her as a person who can be considered a "child of a famous person" resulting in her growing up with a renown that is similar to famous celebrities.

The notes listed here are a collection of canon notes that pertain to my character and story. I am including them here because I feel some sections above are already a long read or simply because I have not implemented them into the writings above as of yet, or are just interestin tid-bits someone might find interesting. These notes may be removed from this list and added to the content above.

Quick Notes


  • Certain Untamed species and morphology are rarer than others. A bunny species Venomancer is more common than a deer species Veno, a deer Veno with white morphology is rare than a deer Venomancer with brown morphology.

  • The story is based off the same named race and classes in the Perfect World International (PWI) game.

  • Venomancers are naturally immune to pathogens and toxins.
