How did we get here?
Who the abomination called Lamia Lammashtu was is rather unimportant compared to who she is now. Whatever the original name was, we can just call it Boy. Boy grew up with a fairly normal lower class childhood. His parents died young but he had her older sister to take care of him and his collection of dolls to keep her company.
He picked up tradeskills, learned the alchemical secrets of porcelain making and put his skill with a needle to work as a maker of expensive porcelain dolls. He fell in love with his mentor's son, planned to spend their lives together. His lover had other plans and ran off and eloped with her sister.
Boy dealt with the heartbreak and loneliness by throwing himself into his work and within a few years his dolls became collector items among the upper class. So it seemed he settled into a comfortable life but dull existence, refusing to even consider taking a lover again. He was a very refined looking and 'pretty' man, but rather boring and uninterested in socializing. His work spoke for him and those few who even cared to speak to him would never guess he had other hobbies; like serial abduction and murder.
Young men, especially travelers, who took his fancy could find themselves drugged and waking up in his cellar completely bound. He recited romantic poetry and sung love songs to his guests. "Don't ever leave me" Boy would beg as he drilled into her victims skills and removed pieces of their brains with hooked needles. He amassed quite a collection of preserved dead, and brain dead "dolls" before anyone even noticed the pattern of missing young men. The Authorities never even questioned him. They never knew about his special collection. It wasn't the police who caught him, but an adoring fan.
The Cult of the Black Pharaoh, one of the sects leaders had been collecting the dolls Boy sold and he was convinced Boy had true vision that was wasted on making little toys. When his obsessive stalking of him revealed the lovers he has collected for herself, The cult leader was ecstatic.
Boy was dragged from his home in the dead of night to be their "special guest" and receive the blessing
