James Fisher's father was a hero. He was known as Nightshroud One of the few heroes on the westcoast. Growing up with his older brother Terry, they were trained and educated to follow in their father Jacob's footsteps when they came of age. "Destined for greatness" their father always said. And so, from adolescence, their father began teaching them his skills and secrets. Each year the training became more and more grueling. Jacob wanted to be sure that if his sons really wanted this life that they would be as prepared as they could be. After some time Jacob started taking the boys out on patrol with him. First just as spectators. Later on they began taking on small time criminals (purse snatchers) Terry took to it very naturally. It all just came to him so easy. James, however, always seem to struggle. He had to work twice as hard to be just as good. This caused some bitterness in James toward his brother. It also caused him to see things in the wrong light. James didn't want to be a hero anymore. He felt this life was forced on him.
Eventually their father began letting them go out on their own. This was when James started to truly rebel. He took the abilities he was taught and secretly used them for his own gain. Eventually his greed caught up to him though and forced him into a confrontation with his family. His brother and father caught him on the rooftop of city hall. James choose to run rather than face them. However while trying to escape he knocked his brother from the roof. The injury paralyzed Terry from the waist down. Jacob never put on the costume again, retiring to take care of his son.
Redemption
Overcome with guilt and grief, James fled to the east coast. He came to realize just how wrong he was and decided to make a change. To honor his family he would become a new Shroud of protection for the innocent. He would do his best to live up to the legacy that he tried to throw away. James set off for wherever he felt he could help the most which quickly led him to Millennium City...
Skills and Attributes
Skills
Skill 1 - Master Acrobat: He is classed as a superb-Olympic athlete, gymnast, acrobat, and aerialist due to constant training and exercise from a young age.
Skill 2 - Expert Marksman: He is a skilled marksman capable of throwing multiple projectiles with great accuracy. Shroud is also skilled with most projectile-like weaponry, archery and can utilize military-grade weaponry in extreme situations.
Skill 3 - Master Combatant: Shroud is an incredible combatant in terms of close quarters combat. He is well educated in the functioning of the human body as well as martial arts techniques that target pressure points enabling him to paralyze limbs of an individual's body or the entire body altogether. He's disabled eye sight, speech, induced pain, and even has knowledge of pressure points inducing death.
Skill 4 - Stealth Tactics: Shroud possesses incredibly extensive knowledge and skill in many ways of stealth tactics, enabling him to easily slip in and out of areas undetected
Attributes
Attribute 1 - Enhanced Speed: Trained since he was 6, Blackshroud has developed agility that is just short of superhuman. He possess speed that grants him quick movement when running as well as having very silent feet to allow him to sneak up on others even while running.
Attribute 2 - Near perfect hand eye coordination along with an excellent sense of balance
Attribute 3 - Strong Will: Through his will Shroud can face great physical pain and psychological trauma yet he will refuse to surrender no matter how much the odds are stacked against him. Even up to the point of pushing past his own limitations on rare occasions.
