"My Origin? There really isn't much to say about that... I was born with a mutation that gave me powers. Really they were more of a bother than a blessing when I was younger. Even today I still can't really control my powers." A cold chill permeates the air "Oh, sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to do that! I've been told that my power is linked to my emotions.
"I have the ability to manipulate the temperature of the air around me. When I'm sad or annoyed it gets cold, when I'm angry or excited it gets hot, and yes I can cause it to be both hot and cold at the same time. Trust me you don't want to experience it. That is what little I actually understand about my power, there are other things that trigger it as well but I don't know what they are, temperature changes just happen around me sometimes.
"A while back a scientist came to my families home to study my power and help me me learn to control it. The control part really didn't pan out to well." the temperature drops a few degrees again "But they did come up with a solution that helps give me some form of control over it!" the temperature spikes up as she digs around in her pack for a shiny pair of gauntlets. "These lovelies provide me with a way to take direct control of my power. How do they work? I... I really don't know... They just do." the temperature drops again
"When I wear them I'm in full control of my powers... or well mostly anyways..." she slips the gloves on and the temperature returns to normal "See! And the best part of all of this is that I can finally go places. I'm not trapped in my room 24/7 anymore, I'm free to go where I want and do what I want now. And what I want to do is be a hero, like in the comics... and like the other real ones too..."

Katie possesses a rare mutation giving her control of the temperature of the air around her. Without her power gloves she is incapable of controlling her power and causes wild temperature changes around her. Because of this she was confined to a specially designed room for much of her life.
Wild Fire
By focusing her power through her gloves she is able to create intense levels of heat capable of ignighting nearby objects on fire. Without the gloves this tends to happen at completely random intervals, though it occurs far more often than normal when she's angry. By using the gloves she can focus this effect into localized areas and even maintain some level of control over the spread of the fire.
Icicles
By fousing her power through her gloves she is able to create extreme cold instantly freezing the moisture in the air around her. Without the gloves this tends to happen at completely random intervals, though it occurs far more often than normal when she's upset. By using the gloves she can focus this effect into localized areas and even form icicle spears.
Rimefire
Due to the dual nature of her power it can sometimes be difficult to produce just one tempeture effect, at times both extremes will manifest simultaniously causing a Freezing Heat or a Burning Cold effect. Even with her gloves she doesn't really have control over this.
