Despite his young age, Lightning, just your average teenage superhero; super-strength, superhuman speed, heightened senses, increased intelligence, an affinity to electricity, etc. However, he wasn't always like that. He gained his supernatural abilities when he was shot to near-death in a robbery, where he had time to search his soul and have a dragon's soul bound to his own, followed by the experimentation he's done with mutagenic substances and attempting to further enhance his abilities with gene therapy. That dragon was called Fulgur and had an affinity to electricity and lightning, hence the blue eye colour. For a very brief period of time, he was the Star Guardian of the region Earth is in when Andre Almena was taken by the Shadow Destroyer, but with the help of the Champions, he defeated the Destroyer and returned the Star Staff to its original holder.

Though Lightning Sabre, as a well-known superhero, has many enemies, two of them particularly hate him. His Nemeses are Ruby, a former friend and superheroine who has fallen under Therakiel's control, then lost her memory after Therakiel's defeat and Lightning Destroyer, his obsessive number-one fan who gained powers similar to Lightning's after invading his mind, as Lightning Sabre always brushed him off, because he wasn't cut out to be a hero, now turned into a werewolf after defeating Black Fang in a showdown. In addition to those, the five kings now have an axe to grind with yours truly because he'd managed to escape their grasp and beat them, then closing the portal as their world was decaying around them.
