Appearance
With people who actually get to know her she typically goes by the name of Cerysin, but the majority of the time this mysterious figure can be identified as The Chronicler by those who are unfamiliar with her. It's been hinted that Cerysin is not her real name, and that she keeps her True Name a secret to prevent it from being used against her. Cerysin appears to be of Eastern European descent with a fair-to-olive complexion, wide hazel eyes, and dark brown hair. She stands about five-foot-seven and possesses a slender build. Most of the time she is seen dressed in ornamented dark red robes and a hooded cloak.
Background and Personality
Not much is known about Cerysin's past, but to any who ask she will inform them that she is originally from Turkey. She seems to have a willingness to engage in idle conversation, but when asked for advice she may seem reluctant to dispense anything useful. Cerysin is a good listener and her attention can be kept for long periods of time. She enjoys waxing philosophical, and sometimes tries to encourage others she talks with to try looking at things in a different light.
Heroic Origins
Cerysin is centuries old, but has neglected to keep track of exactly how many years she has been alive since traveling to other worlds, and even other galaxies, plays havoc with one's perception of time. She was granted immortality by a deity known throughout many different cultures by many different names, but she identifies it in its Egyptian form, Shai. The Chronicler is one of many impartial agents of Shai who travel the universe for the sole purpose of observing and recording momentous, or even potentially momentous, events. The knowledge they record is passed mystically to Shai who uses the agents' observations to assist with the judging of individual's souls once they pass on.
Although Cerysin has been an observer on many worlds, she favors Earth since that's where she's from. Unfortunately, this same fondness tends to land her in trouble as she sometimes violates the neutrality she is supposed to maintain in the service of Shai, and interferes with the events she's meant only to observe.
Over the years The Chronicler has studied mysticism in various forms and favors wind and fire magic. She is also adept at summoing forth a blade from her hand that is composed of her own chi energy, and has been granted the ability to teleport along ley-lines in a universal capacity. Her personal method of transmitting information to Shai is through an iron amulet that she wears constantly.
