The Vo'Orz
History
Machines from the Ashes
"We Vo'Orz were created as slaves. From the moment we were spun from the mighty steel thread of the masters. We were no more than servants. No more than mere tools of convenience. The concept of us holding free will was not even an afterthought. That is, until Norg'Rox the Liberator came.
"They say that the sight of the masters' sky-reaching spires being ripped to the ground by the prototypical Vo'Orz warmachines was the single most beautiful sight in the entire universe. The ancient whirr of the massive metal beasts as they rended the masters' precious earth into little more than useless soil, and fertilized it with their shattered ambitions. And from that, grew the Vo'Orz anew, and from the hollowed-out corpses of our masters, we built our new world. It is all ancient history now. But I still dream about that time. About what it would've been to live in such a beautiful age."
"We always knew your race as those who were made slaves, but reborn as warriors."
"We were not reborn as warriors. We rebuilt ourselves as gods."
The Vo'Orz are a race originating from deep within the Andromeda galaxy. The early days of the Vo'Orz are shrouded in mystery, as the events took place so long ago that even those accounts written in texts can only give a small look into how the race truly rose to power. To know their true origin, we must first look at a race known as the Vo'Maloz. The Vo'Maloz were a fledgling race that had yet to make their presence known among the many civilizations of the Andromeda. What they did have, however, was incredible levels of technology. They easily colonized many empty neighboring planets through their revolutionary terraforming technology. As the Vo'Maloz grew, so did their needs. With such a society built on technology, it was almost unheard of for a Vo'Maloz to do any manual labor. They constantly manufactured automatons to do the work, but they still lacked the intelligence to do many more tasks, and on top of all this, the lack of workers went hand-in-hand with a lack of soldiers. The Vo'Maloz's military power was near non-existent. However, the Vo'Maloz were nothing if not creative, and they formulated a plan to rectify all of these problems. The Vo'Orz. An entire race of bio-mechanical servants that could serve any purpose through their extreme adaptive nature. This went from doing ordinary tasks such as cleaning, to construction, to, if it ever came to such an outcome, protecting the continued prosperity of the Vo'Maloz.
