Description
White is a member of a genetically engineered species of humanoid avians, the Liberavi. He is a mutant of his own species, having the extremely unusual ability to produce plasma (Ionised gas) and manipulate it through naturally generated magnetic fields. He has very little experience in the way of typical day to day life as the result of a mixture of indoctrination and improper conditions to raise a child of any species. The result of this is a being that has not as of yet fully matured in a mental sense, thus, he is naive and can be childish at times. As a result of recent events in his life, he has decided to attempt to live the hero's life, helping any who need it at any time he can, even if it can be a dangerous or even life endangering task.
Physical Appearance
White Solar-Partisan is for the most part just the same as any member of his species, when it comes to immediately visible traits. He is of a slender 6'10" humanoid build. His body is mostly covered in a layer of white and black feathers, covering his similarly coloured skin. This colouration, however, is vastly different from the colouration of other members of his species. Typically they are coloured like birds of paradise, using bright blues, yellows, reds and greens. The one exotically coloured area of his body is the bases of his heavily protruding brow and cheek feathers. These bases are coloured a bright blue.
He can also be recognised by his typical outfit which will usually cover his body entirely. A powered suit coloured with bright whites and silvers with a bright blue visor. The entire surface of this suit typically can be seen in a state that is polished to the point of literally glinting in the light, this being the source of his nickname turned hero alias 'White Glint'. His suit typically is seen almost barely covered by any other material, only having a Combat knife and various pouches on his person.
Rarely will White be seen not wandering around in full combat gear, though when he is in casual wear he is to be seen in an odd combination of a blue shirt, a black bandana, a blue and white hoodie, tan coloured cargo pants with black and white sneakers.
History
Early Life (1994 - 2000)
White Solar-Partisan was born on the 3rd December of 1994 to his parents, Grey Partisan and Aqua Solar-Carver as one of twins with his sister Gradient. They were born on the uncharted island that the Liberavi inhabited at the time, somewhere in the pacific ocean. Unfortunately the joy of the birth was not to last for long as within two weeks they were kidnapped by the troops of VIPER Commander Oswald Garland. Upon the discovery of their abduction, the normally calm and collected father, Grey, had been driven into what could be best described as a hate fuelled rage. The Commander and his troops were chased through the island by Grey's forces, but to no avail as Commander Garland managed to escape with both of the children. They were taken from the island to the mainland of the United States to be raised by Garland, personally.
Due to their young age, they were easily indoctrinated by VIPER to be manipulated and think they were specifically produced by VIPER as walking weapons. This would be contrary to what most would expect of VIPER, as they are much more well known for using anything to do with reptiles. Though, Garland had different ideas from the typical VIPER Commander, he saw use in anything he could get his hands on, which allowed him to manipulate and scheme his way to his officer ranking. Oswald Garland's plan with the two young Liberavi was to have them as the users of a specially developed powered armour system. This suit was designed to be used by VIPER troops that were to be labelled as 'White Cobras', however the project that was handling the suits had been shut down due to it not producing viable suits that enable greater mobility along with traditional power armour weapon systems. The problem with these suits was that they could not be used comfortably by any of the ideal troops due to its extremely slim and lanky frame. A Liberavi, however, would have no such issue with using such a suit.
Change of pace...(2000 - 2010)
The young White and Gradient were raised personally by Commander Oswald Garland with his closest guards and troops. They were raised to be ruthless killers when necessary and taught to follow orders to the letter. As a result of about 16 years of life with the two young avians, the troops were actually growing to care about the two. Treating them with care and compassion when the Commander wasn't around to see it. Contrary to what many would believe, VIPER troops are not heartless or monsters... At least most of them.
Upon their 16th birthday they were taken to put on the suits and sent to a firing range... On the opposite end. On the safe end of the firing range, Commander Garland and his closest troops and guards were to be seen, preparing for something that only Oswald knew was to happen. It turns out that Oswald was to finally prepare video evidence that 16 years of time was not wasted. This video evidence was to be sent to the Supreme Serpent and his council for approval to go further and attempt to steal more Liberavi young to produce more infantry. When the Commander ordered his troops to fire upon the two young avians, their lenience to them became apparent. Refusing to fire upon them they all had dropped their weapons in protest. This had only irritated Garland to an extreme that he had never been seen, striking his second-in-command. He had decided to take it upon himself to fire upon the Liberavi teens, lifting a Munitions Expert's chain gun and firing. Luckily for White and Gradient, they were trained well. Dodging the firing line of the Commander, they strafed around the firing range. Garland was pleased, his 16 years of time was not wasted, or so he thought.
As one would expect, no one takes well to what would effectively be their father figure having what appears to be a sudden change of heart, attempting to what they see as murder them. While Gradient had managed to maintain her calm, continuing to avoid the projectiles, White was losing his temper very quickly. To Garland's surprise, White went straight for him at a pace that was unavoidable. He had tackled the Nest Leader to the ground, using his beak and own force to, best put, remove the Commander's arm. After this, the two make their escape, none of the VIPER troops giving any resistance as they were beforehand under strict orders to not even think about touching the two. It would turn out that the VIPER Nest they were raised in was the Millennium City VIPER nest, they would escape out into the city.
Free as a bird (2010)
Upon leaving the nest, they were greeted by the tall shining buildings of downtown Millenium City. After wandering around for a while, one thing was extremely obvious. They were alone in a world they knew little to nothing about. They were left without a home, sustenance, or any way to survive. All they knew about anything was how to kill, so the only answer to their situation became obvious. Mercenary work.
Raised to be killers, these two birds of prey did as they were taught to do. Starting off small, they tried to stay as low as possible whilst maintaining lives that didn't get any attention of those too high. Due to how they were raised, and what had happened between them and VIPER, they felt no one could be trusted. And, as such, they only trusted someone as much as they were willing to pay... And how easily they could kill them if the need arises. Fortunately, the two manage to survive, and out of what could be called sheer luck, they managed to get some degree of shelter.
Recent Events (2011 - Now)
Ardacorp
White Glint's involvement (Read as 'Conflict') began shortly after the appearance of unidentified autonomous drones throughout Millennium City, attacking seemingly unspecific targets. White started going on the offensive against these drones, regardless of size, initially attacking a humanoid unit in self-defence. Some time after actively attacking the various units, this unidentified organisation started sending an assassin after White. Despite how close the assassin had come to ending his life, be it through gunfire or blade, they had failed. However, shortly after these assassination attempts, White was successfully abducted by this organisation with help of the assassin.
Upon regaining conciousness, he had found himself attached to a metal plate, keeping him restrained. He was face to face with the big bad, later to be discovered it was Victor Ardaman, the owner of Ardacorp. Ardacorp is a weapons manufacturer which their owner and CEO, Victor, wishes to operate more openly. Which is problematic due to the nature of the world due to Super-powered individuals, both good and evil, being an obstacle to the corporation's profits. In fact, White was endangering their attempts to increase profits, so he had to go. But before being left to be finished by the assassin, Victor didn't go without ensuring that he'd find the rest of White's species, the Liberavi... This didn't play well with White. Utilising his plasma-kinetic abilities which had arisen during puberty, he triggered a plasma shock-wave away from himself as well as coating in an extremely hot layer of plasma as a result of his angered state. Melting through his constraints he had escaped from near death. He would find himself being prioritised by the drones from then on.
As time progressed, White had to deal with ever increasing amounts of attacks by Ardacorp constructs. Even facing their CEO, Victor, several times. After several confrontations, White specifically mentioned to Victor's face that he was nothing. Not even a true threat. White would come to regret this act, as not long after this event, White was attacked in the club by one of the corporation's weaker drones. He wrecked this small drone, as would be expected, though it turned out it was there more as a messenger.
The chassis of the drone would appear to be stripped down as what was normally a sensor dome would open to reveal a disc. Shortly after retrieving the disc the remnants of the drone violently disassembled itself in a very small explosion. Not enough to damage the area it was in, but leave a bit of a scorch.
Upon playing the disc, it turns out it was a message from Ardaman. In a typical villainous manner, the video would play out with Victor's monologuing on their bouts thus far. However, the video would go on to mention the true nature of sending the recording. Ardaman would go on to mention that he had sent a strategic Missile Submarine to the Pacific Ocean, delivering a nuclear payload to an island in the pacific. The island this would turn out to be is the one which his species, the Liberavi, were on.
It is difficult to fully explain White's state of mind after receiving this message, but one thing was clear. He felt that Victor had no reason to live any longer. He would immediately go to an address listed on the disc to find Ardaman, only to find that he had prepared fully for this occasion. White was left facing not only Victor in one of his super weapons, but also left to fight against the earlier captured celestial avatar, Crathix. This single fight would drag out for what would seem to be hours, White's old VIPER powered exoskeleton taking horrendous amounts of damage during this engagement. Eventually, Ardaman and Crathix withdrew, leaving the distraught White to wallow in the misery caused by this whole conflict.
White, clearly, could not cope very well with being the last of his species. Shortly after the fight, he would wander into Caprice, still in his critically damaged exoskeleton. However, he would also be carrying a side arm, loaded with a single armour-piercing round. However, his intentions with this weapon were halted by his friends, taking any means necessary to save him from himself.
WHile they saved him that time, they would not be able to save him from his foolishness in exacting revenge. He would attempt to attack Ardacorp's HQ building, only to be captured by their forces. Upon his capture, they did to him just as they do to anything else they get their hands on. They re-purposed him. They installed augmentations in White's brain and nervous system to greatly reduce White's response time to incoming threats. Heavy alterations were made to his mind to also allow him much greater combat ability, able to perform much more complicated strategies and tactics than he had previously been educated in.
Upon his full re-purposing, he was no longer himself. Memories wiped or suppressed as best as possible, he was now to be known as Nine. The ninth member of a project to create a highly mobile, airborne weapons platform. Bearing a blood crimson and gold colouration, Nine would now be used to not only appeal to Ardacorp's primary goal of eliminating heroes and villains, but to strike down White's own friends.
Over time, this new mind would heartlessly maim and slaughter various individuals, regardless of moral standpoint. This was not the White than anyone knew. After some time, Cypher and Snowtalon had encountered 'Nine' in the club. Oddly, this individual had the strange desire to watch these two, choosing to not engage, even when they approached. Oddly the normally aggressive and angry Nine was calmed by the presence of these two. It is highly possible that White's suppressed memories of these two was having an effect on Nine's behaviours. Cypher and Snowtalon, after some investigation, moved to capture Nine.
They would take Nine to Canada, hoping the extreme lack of temperature would adversely effect his plasma-kinesis. After Snow uses force to remove the sealed helmet from his head, it was obvious t them now that this was White. Upon observation Cypher found the scars on White's head from the operations done to augment his nervous system. Deciding there was nothing they could do for him at that moment in time, they decided to simply track him.
After time, Snowtalon would acquire the assistance of Slicer, who appeared to have been around White quite a lot prior to disappearing and Headshot. The three would track Nine to Mercy hospital's roof in an attempt to coax him into standing down, whilst also attempting to call White back. Slicer would take the step forward to try reasoning with Nine, and try to coax White into coming out. This, however, would prove ineffective as Nine would throw the then vulnerable Slicer down. In an attempt to keep her down, Nine had stomped the boot of his suit down on Slicer's arm, with the anti-gravity used to allow it to fly disengaged. This crushed Slicer's arm and the sound of it caused Nine to freeze into place as Snowtalon recovered her. Headshot taking the shot on Nine, he turned to block it with his anti-gravity pack, turning it into a smoking wreck.
Nine would remain frozen before he suddenly starts struggling, letting out mixed cries of agony and resistance. His body would be coated with Nine's typical golden plasma as it starts fading from gold to White's blue. This scene would continue until he ap[pears to tear his own helmet off, tossing it into the streets below. His plasma coating fully blue, he would turn and see the injured Slicer, immediately moving over with a concerned expression. Through the unending torrent of apologies, it was clear he was back.
Abilities
Natural Abilities
- Plasma-Kinesis: White is the latest in his family line of genetically induced plasma-kinetics, this implies his ability to manipulate and project matter in the so named state of matter through the usage of naturally induced magnetic fields. As long as it is within a three meter (~9 feet 10 inches) range of him, he has a high level of control over any plasma close enough to him. His control weakens as it moves further away, meaning ranged attacks he makes must be simpler, such as beams or a spray of small shards.
- Thermal resistance: It has been shown by his innate ability to produce plasma that his body is capable of resisting insane temperatures, considering the temperatures that matter must obtain to become plasma within the Earth's atmosphere. However, it has also shown that he is capable of withstanding temperatures even higher than he normally puts out, shown by his anger, which infamously raises the temperature of the area around him by radiation.
- Bred Strategist*: Due to his ancestry, White has been bred through a family of tacticians and strategists. Due to this, he naturally is capable of processing a situation through his mind and quickly formulating a response with due time.
- Hollow, Avian, Bones: Due to the avian nature of his species, White has hollow bones. Because of this, his body weight is much lighter than it appears to be, allowing him greater speed and agility than most individuals of his size.
Augmentations
- Augmented Nervous-System: Due to the events of his capture and mind control, White has an enhanced nervous system, allowing for near instant reaction times, allowing him to almost literally 'dodge the bullet'. This augmentation also allows him to mentally link with the appropriate electronic hardware, such as his combat suits. Appropriate software in his augmentations allow him to also access other hardware, however, he is inexperienced with its use beyond his suits.
- Augmented brain*: Another trait induced by his past with Ardacorp. White's brain was significantly augmented to allow for much greater degrees of calculation and prediction, thus, allowing him to be greater of a tactician and strategist, if he's paying attention.
[*] = Ability is not recognised by White. Will not be used consciously.
Equipment
Suits
Family (Legacy) Suit
This is currently the regular attire for White. Most of the time he will be seen in this suit, rather than in casual-wear. The suit, technically, can be considered an artifact. This suit was originally created by the creator species of the Liberavi, the Vakan, approximately three hundred years ago (1700 AD~) in an attempt to create a suit that allows its user control over plasma state substances in a combat environment. Since its creation, alterations were made to its appearance to make it more visually fitting to the family's avian nature.
This suit can be considered 'semi-powered' armour. While it is not 'true' power armour, the suit can still provide adequate protection from damage due to it being made of high-strength polymers which have proven to be capable of taking a pounding on the actual plating. This plating, however, does not have any hidden nature, so when it is hit, the wearer still receives the impact force and will be knocked back, though the impact is reduced as expected.
The suit's power source outputs an electrical charge, so when the outer plating of the suit is broken, and the wiring exposed, an EMP can critically damage the suit's wiring and electronics, resulting in all suit based assistance to White to be disabled. However, due to training, WHite is over time learning to not rely on his suit for protection and power.
The suit's primary purpose appears to be for high mobility while still being able to take some hits if a mistake is made.
Utility/Defensive Systems
- Synthetic muscle based body suit
- High density polymer plates
- Carbon Nano-tube plate layers
- High pressure plasma tanks
- Mixed, seemingly standard sensor package
Offensive Systems
- Directed plasma projectors
LIF-APS-WG-V0.59 Aerodynamic Protective System
The Aerodynamic Protective System, or, as White has called nicknamed it, the Aerial Predator suit, was designed by his family's dedicated engineers for air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, allowing the wearer maximum aerial movement and freedom. The suit has several thrusters attached throughout thr body of the suit, allowing very precise movements by the wearer in the air.
The armour plating has been upped on this suit in comparison to the original family suit, and as a result, is more expensive to repair. Another flaw behind this design is that it must be assembled onto the wearer, to ensure that it is air tight and properly sealed. Because of these two flaws the suit is only ever used when planned for, such as an assault or aerial defence.
Utility/Defensive Systems
- High-Powered Boot / suit mounted Micro-Jets
- Moving suit panels, acting as air-brakes
- High-grade sensor system
- Flare dispenser system
- Aerodynamic plating
Offensive Systems
- Plasma Projection Systems
LIF-SC_BDU-WG-V12 Supreme Commander Suit
The Supreme Commander's BDU of his people's military is among one of the two outfits White hates wearing. This on inparticular is due to his personal reluctance to want anything to do with military of governance in any way, which ironically he will is having to succeed his now deceased father's role as head of the military, and will eventually succeed his mother as the leader of his people as a whole. This is something that has not happened since the original White Glint was in power.
The suit is by no means the same as any other member of the Independence Force's armour systems. THis suit is literally a visual redesign of the Family suit, to a form more befitting of the military force's uniform style. All systems within the suit are a combination of L.I.F. systems and the Family suit's but the unfortunate situation with its systems based upon the handed down suit, they were reverse engineered from technology made by an apex species, thus, the functionality of the plasma projection systems are not as great as in the Family suit.
Utility/Defensive Systems
All shared with the Family suit
Offensive Systems
All shared with the Family suit
VIP-WC-PRT-001 WHITE-COBRA Prototype
This suit is the second of which WHite hates to wear. It is also one of the two suits that White and his sister, Gradient, were raised to use by a single, now disgraced, VIPER officer. The VIP-WC-PRT-001 (White Cobra suit), was designed with the usage of heavy munitions, high durability and high mobility in mind. It was originally designed with the intent of being one of several competing designs of power armour within the terrorist organisation to serve as their main stay suit. It can safely be said that this suit design failed to meet expectations in the prototyping stage, and only two suits were made. Due to the state of technology at the time, the designs could only be made to be extremely slim, so slim that most humans could not operate the suits.
The suit was recently overhauled by Skarius Snowtalon, so it is much more adapted to the young avian's newer fighting style.
Utility/Defensive Systems
- Voidite based Power System
- Kendro-Questionite plating
- Weight Distributors
- Stabilisers
- Micro-thruster systems
- Plated Artificial Muscle
- High-grade heat proofing
- High-Grade Sensor Package
Offensive Systems
- Bracer mounted Hybrid Particle Accelerator Cannons / Fragmentation Warhead Missile Launchers
- Torso mounted Micro-Missile Launchers
- Integrated Full-Body Plasma Projection System
- Chest mounted High-Concentration Plasma Projector
- Shoulder mounted Collapsible 5mm Mini-gun
Weaknesses
- Strong Magnetic-Fields: Due to the nature of White's ability to manipulate plasma through the usage of his own magnetic fields, strong magnetic interference, or outright stronger magnetic fields can cripple his ability to control any plasma. If said interfering fields are strong enough, they can influence the plasma within his bloodstream, this has the possibility of being lethal as it can force his blood flow to slow or halt.
- Inexperienced: White is young. He is, in some places, not even considered an adult (By human standards). Meaning he is liable to making errors and mistakes that some older, more experienced individuals might not. He needs guidance to stop him from making mistakes that might cost him dearly. This flaw goes hand in hand with his natural talents, as, even though he is a natural leader, he has no idea HOW to lead in the first place, his lack of experience can be his biggest flaw.
- Guilt Complex: White only became what he is now because of extreme guilt from atrocities he had committed before becoming a 'hero'. Anyone who is aware of his guilt and what he has done in the past can use it to their advantage, as he'll likely become confused with guilt. His guilt has often caused him to be almost suicidal in his heroics, seemingly not interested at times in his own survival.
- Hollow Bones: White may not be human, and may not even be what is considered normal by his species, but he is at least as vulnerable, if not more, to extreme forces upon his body. Due to the hollow nature of his bones, they are much easier to break than that of a human's. Meaning that if he is hit, and hit hard, it could go very badly for him. This is why he'll always be seen wearing fully padded and armoured suits.
Public Opinions
The following are public opinions of White Cobra:
"He's young, naive, and inexperienced... but he has potential and he's going to go far." - Cypher
"So a British cyborg, dragon and budgieman walk into a bar..." - Snowtalon
"Eh. I don't hate him." - Dingo
"Biiiiiiird." - Skull
The Liberavi Species
|
Summary
The Liberavi are a species of avian humanoids, created by an ancient multiversal race of arachnids, the Vakan. The Liberavi are best recognised by their clear parrot-like faces, with the exception of their distinguishable, single eyed faces. This species, like Earth's various kinds of parrots, come in a large multitude of colours and patterns. They were created by the Vakan originally as both a labour force and a large scale experiment on Earth, allowing them to get as much profit out of the situation as they could.
Creation
The Liberavi were created by one individual hive of Vakan that were bets described as militarist scientists. They did whatever scientific studies and experiments they saw fit to further their technology and their hive. This inevitably entered the field of creating artificial species. The Vakan at some point in time within 3-5 centuries ago made their way to Earth. They had settled themselves a base of operations on the planet and began to study the local carbon based life, which was typically birds of paradise due to the tropical island they had set up on. After gathering genetic samples from various species of avians on the planet they began to work on a lifeform that could do all of their menial tasks for them. A slave race, if you will. And thus, the Liberavi were born, however, they did not have any actual title at the time.
