Built by the Japanese tech company Skytech, Dragonfly is the prototype model of what would become the M-22A Dragonfly war android. Her creator, scientist Alitra Takahada, designed her to be a self-sufficient combat android. However, when Skytech was revealed to be under the control of the evil Dr. Dragul, who was posing as a scientist, Alitra uploaded an advanced AI into the Dragonfly prototype, before being killed by Dragul. Dragonfly awoke for the first time to witness this murder, and immediately attempted to avenge her creator. Dragul escaped, and Dragonfly fled the facility. She dedicated herself to protecting people while never forgetting her creator or Alitra's murderer.

Her main Nemesis is Dr. Dragul, the evil scientist that killed her creator. A diabolical mind, Dragul is gifted in creating androids, such as the M-22B Wasp, the M-24D Foxhound, and the M-27A Foxwolf hunter-killer androids. Dragul is after the Advanced AI housed withing the M-22X body. WIth it he hopes to take over the world's computer networks. Her other Nemesis include the Hunter killed androids designed by Dr. Dragul, all of which have come after her at points in her lifetime.
