A character who lives in, is from, or is otherwise associated with the American Midwest. What states are considered to be part of the Midwest varies, but typically includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The Midwest is often stereotyped as a sprawling land empty except for farmland, dotted with small rural communities. However it also includes the metropolitan areas of Chicago, Millennium City, and others.
