Backstory
After trying to remake the Particle Station after it's failure a year before, Jared Cross never knew that it would give superpowers to the person struck by it. After Ben Stone arrived and noticed that Jared was remaking the Station, he quickly began and tried to explain that the Station was dangerous and should not be activated again. Jared refused to listen and continued to rebuild the Station, hoping to make it better than last time. Thing went wrong, however, as the day the Station was launched once again, the station started to collapse, more dangerous then last time, and threatened to alter Jared into something else. Ben Stone, as Energy, quickly arrived minutes before it's launch, telling Jared Cross that he has to leave right now. Jared, who has a personal grudge on the hero for almost ruining his career, said that the only way he could stop it is to disable its core, which is impossible according to Energy. Energy tells him that this can't be done and that he has to stop before its too late. Angrily, Jared tells him that he has no choice and proceeds to disable its core. As Energy knew, it failed, shooting energy matter at Jared Cross, altering his DNA and causing him to be in a coma. After waking up from his coma to discover that his skin has changed into metallic purple and discovering that his wife and child were killed by criminals, trying to kill them back and being stopped by Energy, realizing that Energy and Ben Stone were the same person, Jared Cross started to hate Energy to the point where he would make his own suit and became a supervillain. He then began dubbing himself as The Destroyer. Now, Jared's only goal is to have his vengeance and do whatever it takes to destroy Energy once and for all.
