Backstory
Chapter 1: A Difficult Childhood
Isilwane, real name unknown, grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born the 6th of April, 1894, in a poor household. He was the seventh (and last) child in the family. His father died when he was only two years old, and his mother struggled to keep the family together. The two oldest sons got food, by stealing from local stores. The smallest ones begged, and the rest helped around the mess of an apartment. Isil, being the youngest, was sent out to beg. Isil quickly found, that the best way to get money, was to entertain. This could be done with card-tricks, music-playing, singing and so on. Isil was a natural talent, when it came to sleight of hand. There were few tricks he could not master, and therefore he was the main money-maker of the small ones. He began developing a bit of a reputation around town, for his various talents.
Chapter 2: A Mysterious Stranger
One day, when Isil was out making money, a peculiar individual approached him. "I have been watching you for a while", the man said, inspecting Isil's face. "You're quite talented, you know that?" he added, still looking at Isil. "Ehm, thanks, sir!" Isil responded, smiling at the man. The man smiled back, looked at his own left hand a bit, then said, "Why, what if I were to help you acquire some.. New tricks?" Isil looked at him with a slightly confused expression. "New tricks?", he asked. "Yes, yes, you see, I've been dying to pass some of my own tricks onto new people. Tell me, can you read, little boy?", the man asked. "Y-.. Yes, yes I can!" Isil responded, for his mother had taught him just that, when he wasn't working. The man handed him an old, dusty tome, saying "Now keep this safe, little boy. There are people who'd love to get this, but it's just yours." Before Isil managed to even say thanks, the man was gone. Isil looked at the book in his hand, then ran home, where he hid it.

Enchantawhat, now?
Isil has mastered the art of binding magical effects to various items. That includes everything from shape-shifting hats, to magic-enhancing amulets. He tends to keep these for himself, although he does sometimes lend them out, but tends to claim them back, later. He owns a voodoo gift-shop, but the amulets, salves and other items he sells there, are all phony. He puts alot of effort into this art, which is why they are so valuable to him. Besides that, enchanting an item isn't exactly easy. It takes alot of focus and resources.
