Introduction
"You're a spooky git, aren't you?"
An Armenian man named Dan, Matevosian is an eccentric ex-priest, excommunicated from the Catholic church after a mishap with an exorcism, two demons, a cardinal, and some green goo. He's a mystic and a mage, a hunter of demons and the bane of ghosts, with spells and rituals from the holy books of Judeo-Christianity. A stand up member of human society, and member of the vigilante group, the Rats, Daniel's goal is to protect the Earth from the extraterrestrial and the extra-dimensional. Without outstanding offensive powers, Daniel seeks to provide support in any way, and under his watch, no demon or spirit will have his way with Earth like it's some hooker.
Powers and Abilities
Daniel lacks offensive powers, and makes up for it with his weapons. His magic capabilities vary from rites, rituals, to plain old spells that can be cast with a bit of effort and elbow grease. He possesses the old grimoires of Christian mystics, and uses them to cast spells of healing, along with his own medical abilities and knowledge, as well as spells of banishment which he commonly employs against the blasted spirits and demons haunting the Earth.
Along with his mystic capabilities, Dan is a proficient marksman and an athletic man, capable of holding his own in bar fights and fisticuffs with passersby. Though, he can't hold his own against a champion boxer, or even a skilled fighter, unless he had some kind of upper hand, perhaps an upper hand in the form of a revolver. Due to this, he has become agile, in order to avoid situations too dangerous for him without the support of his allies.
Background
Early Life, the Army, and Priesthood
On the 7th of May, Daniel was born in Hrazdan, Armenia. He soon after, moved to Ashotsk. His father, a former soldier, and an outstanding member of the Catholic church, which was the largest minority religion in Armenia, and his mother, the submissive, stereotypical housewife that didn't seem to common in the progressive eighties and nineties. Daniel was a rebel, a rude dude, and popular with the "in" crowd in Armenia. A member of the radical Christian movement, in the undoubtedly majority Christian Armenia. Though a Catholic himself, Matevosian teamed up with an Orthodox gang of neo-Nazis to torch local gay bars and mosques. These activities lead him to be featured in the papers a fair few times, not for the right reasons, however.
On April 22nd, Daniel landed himself in the middle of a shootout between his neo-Nazi brothers the Armenian police. Dan fled, escaping from the charges of murder that surely awaited him, and grew out his hair, changed his attire, and left for the United States.
