"My husband would bow his head before the filthiest mortal imaginable for the sake of his people. And it is for that reason that I will always protect him even if he doesn't remember his past, or who I am."
Great Demon Queen Rya, formerly Rya the Great Celestial is the current Demon Queen that rules over the nation of Konia, in the place of her husband, Apex Primordial Demon Kon Larum. Initially an enemy of Kon's, due to being a Celestial, and the latter being a Primordial. Rya eventually came to the realization of Kon's true nature as that of a kind pacifist, and slowly established a friendship with the primordial, which grew into an alliance.
Rya served as Kon's "blade", due to her millennia of leadership experience battling Primordials and monsters who threatened the land, establishing balance to the world. As Rya soon discovered Kon's goal to eliminate the history of violence for the Primordial race, the Celestial became Kon's comrade, leading his nation in his stead and combining her military might with his to form the nation of Konia.
When Kon refused the demands of servitude to Ultimate Primordial Demon Loyce Hal, going as far as to fight all six of Loyce's Outer Shadows in a six on one battle, Rya became heavily traumatized at her lack of resolve to violence. Believing her nature as a Celestial was too forgiving to those who hurt the people she loved, Rya's methods grew colder and darker. Through watching her husband tolerate the destruction of numerous worlds under the orders of the Ultimate Primordial Demon, Rya's approach became increasingly violent. Mobilizing her troops without hesitation and resorting to violence for the sake of Kon, Rya soon took the role of Kon's destructive guardian.
After Kon defected from the Black Legion and battled Loyce, Rya went as far as to intervene and limit Loyce's powers by taking over his soul, though this would lead to Rya being severely injured by Loyce's [Ard Metria], and later, his Logic Bending [Absolute Metria]. Forced to watch Loyce transform her husband from a Primordial to a Human and removing his memories, Rya's guilt manifested in the form of a spectre, watching over Kon's life as Constatine Lupin in Millennium City as a dark angel, and destroying any who brought her husband in harm's way.

"I watched the world burn from above. I was no guardian angel to the mortals, but an arbiter to those who corrupted them. But no matter what I did, the sin never stopped. Because that was the nature of balance."
Initially, Rya was a Celestial who held only contempt to beings who were not pure. Due to being a Great Celestial, one of the most ancient cosmic entities of her world, she believed her purpose was to act as the balance, by destroying and eliminating those who she deemed were evil. This included monsters, sin, and Primordial Demons. This view was held by Rya for thousands of years since the conception of time. As such, Rya hated those who were corrupted with sin. According to Rya, if she had met Yeling Mah back before she became Kon's wife, she would have done everything in her power to destroy him, as she would have viewed Yeling as the very personification of sin for murdering his family in exchange for power.
Meeting Kon and forming Konia
Rya hated Kon for being a Primordial Demon. She believed his presence as an Apex Primordial would shift the balance too far to the side of darkness, and repeatedly mobilized her troops to take him down. As Kon consistently defeated her troops (to his reluctance), Rya grew frustrated and decided to fight Kon herself, only to be defeated brutally. This frustration grew even further as Kon explained to Rya that he had no intention to hurt her, which she had misinterpreted as pity. In a desperate attempt to kill Kon, Rya infected herself with darkness to become more vicious in battle, only to collapse from the incompatibility of the darkness to her body, which was made of Celestial Light. At the same time, another Apex Primordial Demon, Deno took advantage of Rya's weakened state and slaughtered half of her military forces. Realizing her foolishness, Rya broke down into tears and cursed Kon for being the first being in many millennia to force her to resort to such questionable methods, blaming Kon for the destruction of her people. Kon retaliated angrily and scolded Rya for taking drastic measures to that extent, and told the Celestial that the deaths of her people were her own doing, not his.
This spiral of self destruction went out of control, until Rya attempted to overload her body with darkness to
