A Word From Warcat's Player

First off, if you're reading this, thanks! I hope you enjoy your perusal of the profile - which is very much a work-in-progress, right now. Anyway, onto the word (well, words) this heading insinuates! Warcat happened by accident, really. I was test driving concepts for a Beastial Supernatual character and just wasn't finding anything that clicked. I hated the look or landed on something I felt was either too cliché or too much of a rip-off from existing universe. Then, after taking the power Pounce, I was like "OK, that is totally a cat". I decided right then and there to stop skirting around cliché and instead embrace it, while putting forth the energy and care to craft a persona, voice, and back-story that is fun to role-play (And role-play with? I hope!). With a character rename and re-costume, thus was born Warcat, my very first cat-girl (Well, first manimal ever, actually). And, I hope you enjoy her as much as I do. See you in game! <3

A Brief History

The Generation Alpha Hybrids

Simply stated, the "Generation Alpha" hybrids were genetically engineered and thought-programmed to become the ultimate weapons of war. And through the combination of meta-human DNA with a choice predatory animal (Panthera onca palustris, commonly known as a jaguar), an undisclosed criminal organization operating in Canada's frozen north accomplished just that. It is believed that at least seven meta-human/animal hybrids - and technically speaking, fraternal twins - comprised Generation Alpha. However, when the Canadian government agencies learned of the program and subsequently raided the facility, they found only two; A powerful, albeit feral male, and a melanistic female "runt". It is assumed that these two were considered "failures" by the organization, and were not a priority for the organization to evacuate when they received advanced warning of the raid on their premises. The location of the other five Generation A hybrids, if they do indeed exist, remains a mystery.

The Runt of the Litter

The manimalistic being who would come to be known as Warcat was one of two genetically engineered meta-human/P. onca palustris hybrid infant siblings recovered when Canadian government agencies raided a laboratory in Northern Canada, mere miles from the Arctic Circle. After analysis of the data recovered from the laboratory, it is believed that Warcat was 1.) the only female and 2.) the only sibling to receive the melanastic dominant gene which causes P. onca palustris (jaguar) to have a black coat rather than spots. Adding these abnormalities to her small size (in relation to her siblings), it is assumed that Warcat was deemed unfit for combat, and thus was not administered the same behavioral modification therapy her 'brothers' received. It is not clear what her creators intended to do with Warcat, but additional cross-breeding or ovum harvesting is speculated.

Life as Young Jenna Harper Ames

After the laboratory rescue, the female meta-human/P. onca palustris hybrid infant (Warcat) showed only slight behavioral differences when compared to a normal human infant of similar age. Because of this, the Canadian government decided (with a slight 'nudge' from meta-human equal rights activists) to attempt to integrate the female hybrid infant into society. John and Kay Ames, a Calgarian husband and wife (who are also owning partners of an independent book publishing house), were selected from a pool of adoptive parents, and they subsequently brought the female hybrid infant (whom they named Jenna Harper, after the author Harper Lee) into their home. With the Ames, Jenna had a relatively normal childhood/adolescence, despite her physical differences and the continued monitoring by the Canadian government.

Jenna attended private schools in Calgary and, due to a good work ethic and dedication rather than brilliance, was consistently marked within the top ten percent of her class. She also excelled in certain extra curricular activities, most notably those where agility or speed was key - gymnastics, track and field, dance. However, she only performed in non-competitive exhibitions due to her obvious advantages.

Jenna also has an adoptive sister, Sarah, who is three years Jenna's elder. While their relationship was rather tumultuous throughout their childhood, the pair grew exceptionally close when Sarah was college-aged, and they still maintain said closeness to this day. In fact, Sarah (and husband, Peter) recently named their first born daughter 'Harper' in honor of Jenna, citing her selflessness and heroism as their motivation.
