History
Born to the Galactic Church of Universal Causality current Imperial-Pontifex and the Princess Consort, on the first moon of Ontos, Ikuras is the youngest of four brothers. The moment he was capable, the youngest prince was put through the churches monastic education, his learning varying between mathematics, languages, sciences, statecraft and religion. Ikuras, in time, found his place in the group of brothers. Tonphas was the eldest and the militaristic one, with a mind of strategy and warfare; Mraden, the second eldest, was the scientist with an eye for chemistry; and Soryi was the risk taker. Ikuras himself was drawn to the teachings of the church. While each member of his family holds a position of note within the Galactic Church, the youngest prince quickly rose to prominence within the church. At the age of 12, he joined the Cardinals' Collective through a mix of passion and royal influence, essentially becoming his fathers apprentice and second in matters of the Church.
Life seemed simple, to the young Ajencis. His path was set, as a priest instead of Royalty, giving grand sermons on Maseon I to masses of pilgrims and visiting other planets and their Universal Causality cathedrals. His role in life quickly changed when Tonphas, the eldest, was killed at the hands of an unknown assailant. The Ajencis family was thrown into a panic, all members being called to the Papal Palace until the threat was identified. Out of the three remaining children, only Mraden and Ikuras were present. After their collective grieving for the eldest son, the issue of succession arose. Mraden revealed he was unwilling to take up the position as leader of a church and an empire, content with his life as a researcher in a distant system, far from his family. With Soryi missing, eyes turned to the 15 year old Ikuras. It was no secret to Ikuras that his father was old, and with his other siblings unwilling or unable, his sense of duty pushed him to accept the position of first heir. Months later the assassin was caught, supposedly an unaffiliated apostate. In the time he was locked away in the Papal Palace, Ikuras' father approached him to discuss his new role. It is ancient tradition within the Pontifex houses for the heirs to go on journeys at a young age to mirror the church founders quest. Pilgrimages to 'primitive' planets. There, they would attempt to live among the people and effectively become one of them. 'In order to lead the people, you must first know the least fortunate of them.'
The now 16 year old Ikuras set off on his journey after quiet goodbye to his family, hopping from planet to planet, from station to station using only shipping vessels and kindness from strangers. While catching a ride on a pirate vessel, Ikuras caught wind of a planet by the name of Sol-3. Fanciful costumes, feats of heroism and also a primitive dump. With the perfect location now in mind, he made his way for Earth.
Appearance & Personality
Ikuras is a Onclestine male, an alien species with the identifying features of; two antennae, blue and purple skin pigments and (usually) symmetrical markings of the skin. Ikuras is also a high born, giving him the rare feature of completely black eyes. He is somewhat on the short side, standing at 5'8 with a slim build that only gives away signs of consistent physical activity, but not anywhere near intensive. Ikuras moves like a royal, back up right with a trained, confident and graceful swagger to his step. As far as looks go, one could imagine that, were Ikuras human, he'd be a pretty man with those soft features of his. Befitting his blood, Ikuras often dresses flamboyantly, having a liking for the colour gold.
Contrary to what his lineage would imply, Ikuras is actually a rather humble person. The first impression he usually gives off is kind, but distant, often inquiring heavily about the other while playing his own cards close to his chest. He is a strong believer in the Trinity Doctrine outlined in the Church of Universal Causality's teachings, to a zealous extent. He personally believes that the doctrines are applicable in most, if not any, situation. He will, at times, attempt to slip in the suggestion of taking up the Churches beliefs, but is not so missionary about it that he does not know when it is not welcome. In reality, Ikuras is an incredibly manipulative and political creature, as is expected of his sort, and what comes naturally to high born Onclestine.
Powers, Abilities & Equipment
Ikuras has no powers, as far as Onclestine are concerned. There are, however, several skills that his family are inclined towards.
- Expression Reading: Ikuras, his family and other high born Onclestine are naturals at 'hearing' the thoughts of sapient creatures through their facial expressions. To Ikuras, the human face is roughly fourty-four muscles which can be used to grant insight on people.
- Charisma: Ikuras and his family are speakers, representatives, leaders and generals. Over time, they've refined the art of exerting their presence in a way which makes people like them to some extent. This skill is slightly more difficult to apply to humans, as they have less exposure to aliens than the average space person they'd usually encounter.
- Arcanopulse Gloves: Before departing on his pilgrimage, Ikuras was instructed to take one item from the imperial armoury for self defence. The Arcanopulse Gloves collect ambient energy, to be unleashed in long range, destructive blasts or detonating orbs. Seasoned users of the Arcanopulse Gloves can apply them more creatively, but Ikuras is but a novice.
