Tariq is a Sellsword Vampire that goes after a very exclusive list of targets, other vampires that do not share the beliefs passed down by the progenitor of his clan. He uses a variety of methods to accomplish his goals and is very meticulous in his work. He will only kill those he targets and those who try to stop him. Casualties are inexcusable. In the 800 years since Tariq was embraced, he has only had to kill two humans. Every other kill that blackens his aura is another vampire.

Origin

Birth

Tariq was born in Byzantium during the final years of the Roman Empire. He was born to a Greek Family that had migrated there shortly before the Fourth Crusade. Having been born to a soldier, Tariq was seemingly predestined for the life of a Warrior.

Second Birth

During the interim between the Roman and Ottoman Empires, Tariq encountered the man who would be his second father. Tariq met what he now knows as a seventh generation vampire of a clan started by the Vampire Haqim. He was embraced into this clan and his already impressive abilities as a warrior were greatly improved over the years.

Early Years

Tariq knew from the start of his new un-life that the Path of Blood would be his calling. His new found speed and agility helped him to greatly increase his ability as he honed his skill with the blade. Tariq became a Dervish both in title as one who follows the Path of Blood as well as on the battlefield. He quickly rose in prestige as one of the better swordsman of the entire clan. Being a warrior, he was one of the common folk in the clan but he would not let that stop him from achieving new heights through his deeds. He found that being of the eight generation granted him a nice balance of power to age. He still had fairly potent blood without being old enough that he suffered any ill effects of age.

Recognition

First Kill

Tariq's first kill was another vampire of his own clan. Tariq was given this contract as a means to test not only his skill but his resolve as well. The target was another vampire from his clan, one of which Tariq had known fairly well. Nonetheless, Tariq knew the laws and he knew what had happened as well as what would happen if he did not comply. He carried out his assignment with cold determination and brutal efficiency.

Disciplined

Over the centuries, Tariq had been sent on numerous assignments and each time he went out, he carried out those assignments with every bit the brutal efficiency as his first assignment. There were no targets he would shy away from. None that would give him pause. He was the consummate professional. There were many targets for vampires of other clans. These were a little more challenging as it meant stepping out of his comfort zone, since it required him to utilize hastily gained reconnaissance, being in the territories of other clans. However, these targets were often times far more rewarding. Due to the method of killing his targets that he employed, he often times had the opportunity to gain new abilities that are not so readily available to his clan. Most notably, he gained control of the shadows from a couple of his targets in Sicily.

Blood Essence: Extract the heart's blood of a vampire as a thick liquid that can later be consumed, granting the effects of diablerie

Blood Sweat: Force a target to profusely sweat blood and dwell on horrible things they've done
Purification: Cleanse an individual of mental and emotional influences over them, even curses and other magical effects
Quicken the Mortal's Blood: Gain twice the benefit from blood
Rapturous Touch: Drink blood through the skin
Ripples of the Heart: Leave emotions in the blood of a mortal that will be transmitted to any vampire that feeds from them
Selective Silence: As Silence of Death, except he can designate certain people to be able to make sound
Thin Blood: Make a vampire unable to heal their wounds with blood
Baal's Bloody Talons: As Baal's Caress, and it deals even more damage

Shadow Play: Move and shape the natural shadows around him
Shroud of Night: Blanket an area in a cloud of unnatural shadow that obscures light, sound, and heat
Arms of the Abyss: Summon black tentacles from the shadows to assist him
Black Metamorphosis: Encase his body in nightmarish armor and grow black tentacles from his sides

UV Laser Sword -- Cuts through most objects, cauterizes wounds, and for those weak to sunlight, it slows down the healing process
Poisoned Knives -- Each knife has been treated with the poison he can create using his own blood

Tactics

Using his concealment powers, he excels at stealth reconnaissance. He gains whatever information he can about each target and waits for them to be separated from any groups and rushes in using his supernatural speed to take the target by surprise. He will continue to inflict damage onto his targets until they enter a catatonic state, at which point he will drain them dry of all their blood, going so far as to even devour their very soul in the process.
